  • This video continues a series covering how striker fired actions work. In this video I showcase the function of the Glock 19,
    through the use of the program World of Guns: Gun Disassembly.
    This is the site I downloaded World of Guns: store.steampowe...

    If you are wondering what program I used for the creation of this video, please check the description. It should be included on every video in this series, if not let me know.

      I may have figured it out by the end of the video - the force of the bullet exploding forces the shell back which carries the slide back with it? Did i get it right?

    Good video on how Stryker-fired actions work. Although I do not own any Glocks, nor am I planning to, I do own Stryker fired pistols. Thanks for the simple, yet effective explanation.

    Great vid, super animation, great narration.
    I am counting 8 separate springs in this Glock.
    Seems like Glock and other manufacturers should provide these animations so owners can really know how the gun works.

    Thanks, this helps explain the mush feeling of a stock glock. I hate it.
    I’ve heard there are trigger upgrades that fix the stock crappy trigger feeling, but How do they do it?
    I don’t see how they can change the inherent design.

    FINALLY ! My question is answered. The striker is not fully cocked and pulling trigger pulls Stricker rearward for full striker cock.. Thank You so very much ! Now I understand why experts insist that negligent discharge must have trigger pulled. Although glock is cocked it is only half cocked , until trigger is fully pulled , am I correct ?

    I have a question everyone says the glocks striker always has prssure on it from the spring but if the glock is uncocked you can hear the striker going back and forth only when not cocked. So is that not true the striker always has prssure on it ? I have 6 glocks and if not cocked I can shake them and hear the striker moving back and forth.

    most people dont understand how ingenious the glock action actually is, if glock didn't hold a patent on it EVERY striker fired pistol would be made with the same action. Glocks have no clunky external safeties to mess with, yet it is the safest gun on the market. you can literally put a round in the chamber and beat a nail into a board with the backplate and the glock CANNOT go off. it's physically imposible. People have dropped them from buildings and done all sorts of things to try to make them go off without a trigger pull, it's impossible. It's better than the 1911, better than the browning hi power, better than the Beretta 92, etc. The hype is real; buy a glock already!

    • @barbandrob1
      @barbandrob1 11 месяцев назад

      The striker will have spring pressure, until that energy is released to move the trigger forward, beyond the point where the trigger safety engages. While this is happening, the plunger safety and drop safety are engaged.

    Why and how does the slide move back once the round has been fired? This is what I don't get.

    • @micromushroom40
      @micromushroom40 4 года назад +3

      It travels back by the recoil of the round being fired out the front. Think of it as For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. (Projectile moving forward, and the cartridge case moving backwards pulling the slide with it until it gets ejected and another round gets picked up when the spring pushes it back forward). Clear as mud?

    • @TranquillShot
      @TranquillShot 4 года назад +1

      @@micromushroom40 I'm amazed that the force generated by the explosion is enough to push the round (and thus the slide) backwards against the spring all the way to the back, without any other type of assistance. I kinda just don't believe it because most other systems I've seen have some sort of assist.

    • @micromushroom40
      @micromushroom40 4 года назад +2

      @@TranquillShot Well the spring in the front bottom of the pistol actually absorbs a lot of the force too, then pushes the slide forward so it must have plenty of power to push the slide back against a stiff spring. It is crazy though considering how slowly gun powder burns if you just lay a pile of it on a table and light it compared to being encased inside of the cartridge and the breech. It is amazing how harnessing that can create such a violent explosion that sends a projectile down range that fast with that much force.

    My Canik TP9 Elite Combat which is single action also has the safety of a firing pin block that will only be disengaged by a fully depressed trigger. So even if by some virtually impossible circumstance the striker was to “let loose” on it’s own, it cannot hit the primer without the trigger being pulled back. Also, you can get a second hit on the primer by just slightly operating the slide rearward without ejecting the cartridge. So in my opinion, my Canik trounces any Glock. Great trigger feel of a single action, same safety’s as a partially cocked striker and because of the firing pin block, assuage as a true double action. Not to mention it’s more accurate right out of the box than any Glock, even modded Glocks.

    Is it just me, or does this look more simple than hammer fired?

    • @mikewazowski5803
      @mikewazowski5803 3 года назад

      Its debatable but hammer fired is technically more primitive. Conceptually a hammer fired gun uses the same technology as a old school western revolver, but the movement of the action of the initial shot cocks the hammer and loads the next roud between shots.

  • @stevennunez6013

    So basically the glock is a striker fired 1911 with no safety and no barrel bushing .

  • @crtiba
    @crtiba 3 года назад

    Amination is wrong. The user should still pressing the trigger when the striker returns.

  • @froggore52

    What caused the trigger bar to move forward at 1:11?

    • @barbandrob1
      @barbandrob1 11 месяцев назад

      The connector is reset allowing the the trigger bar to (spring)rise upward, once the striker engages the the seer surface, the striker spring, forces the trigger forward, beyond the point where the trigger safety engages. While this happens the plunger safety and drop safety are engaged.
