- The Lachman test is the most useful single test to assess the integrity of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). A positive test reveals increased laxity - often without a definite end-point.

This important video
Perfect
Lachman and anterior drawer tests seem very similar. Is the only difference between the two exams the angle of knee bending? Thank you!
Yup. Lachman has the knee flexed at about 25 degrees while anterior drawer test has it at 90 degrees. Studies do show though that the Lachman test is more sensitive. Lachman test is also considered the gold standard of testing for clinically testing for ACL tears over the anterior drawer test.
Helpful! Thank you!
Yess... lachmann test can beperformed atan angle of 20 to 25 degree whereas ADT is performed at 90 degree also in ADT therapist has to stabilise the limb from foot.
quick question, so does this patient has ACL tear?
No. If they did, the tibia wouldn't be kept in place by the ACL which means it could move more forward without constriction
Can one walk like this when ACL is completely torn?
Yes its possible
I just searched this up beacus messi got injured in my career mode

Who is she?
Holly Kane
My wife 😂😂
So did she test positive for the test? It seems like there was a lot of mobility going on.
Jon Edward Querequincia - With out a subjective and comparison you can’t say. If there was no pain then most likely no, unless there was a specific moment of injury in which you would see swelling in a 20min time frame and you would hear/feel a ‘pop’. No pain and a lot of movement would imply a complete (grade 3) rupture. You would always compare each side as it’s completely normal to have a some anterior tibial translation.
Always check side to side :) Some people have some laxity like she did, but that's normal for them. The test is positive if there's pain or if there's significant difference from one side to the other.
First dis like 🤗
