I hope the movie is better than the book.
For this book it is entirely possible I don't think it's possible to get more "woke" than the book on this one
Are you crazy? The first book was SO MUCH BETTER than the first movie, and I maybe with Steven Spielberg they'll do better this time. It literally was NOTHING like the book. So many throw backs and nostalgia weren't even used in the movie and it bummed me out. I've never met anyone who read the book and thought the movie was better.
@@jessicablair5610Fuck books. Movie was amazing.
Unfortunately Spielburg directed the first one too. I made the mistake of reading the book before seeing the movie and it was so much worst. Can't imagine this one will be any better. I bet they do follow the book events a lot more closely in this one.
@@jessicablair5610 that's what I'm saying. Lol. I loved the first book and it was much better than the movie. I still enjoyed the movie with some of the updated pop culture references but I did not care for the second book that's why I made the joke about the movie possibly being better. It would probably be the first time the movie would be better than the book! Lol.
Good movie! Good actors! Of course they should do at least two maybe 3!
Just watched it AGAIN. Enjoyed the story line, the action, the feel of excitement and catharsis of seeing who gets what they deserve. Yeh maybe 1 more Ready Player 2. We'll see how it goes from there. If its as good as the 1st then planning and good story writing needs to done to see if the readers DEMAND that there be a 3rd.
I can’t wait for the VR game to come out!!
We have waited too long for this ❤
i really hope there's a sequel ... this movie was a surprise hit i did not expect to like
Hope it's better than the book. Was dreadful. Gave up halfway through it.
Disagree, but I’m sure they will re-envision for a smoother plot progression for film.
Sadly Ready Player Two wasn't nearly as good as RP1 even in its book format.
As long as Goji is represented.
Rarely is a sequel novel ever. The story can be made into a decent movie. I enjoyed book 2 enough
What didn’t you enjoy in the second book?
@@evanhunke1676IMO it's nothing to do with inability to write a good sequel. I am like 18 books into a particular series and they are just starting to get old. Ready player 2 went woke and decided to brainwash instead of entertain, that is why it failed and a sequel movie likely won't happen.
it is gonna happen the video already announce it @@jordant3512
With how they change the plot in story slightly for the movie adaptation of ready player one I'm not quite sure how they're going to create a proper sequel using the second book story to help create the second movie they're essentially going to have to rewrite the entire novels story in order for it to make sense in the context of the movie a lot of information from the first book is extremely relevant to the second book and there's a couple of controversial worlds that they would be visiting that they wouldn't be able to utilize in the second book such as the afterworld if you're a fan of the book you know what that means and hopefully it's not a spoiler for those who haven't read the second book not to mention all of the extra Tolkien stuff that they didn't add in the first book is important in the second book and a lot of John Hughes stuff as well good luck on making the second movie I'll watch it but I've pretty much have separated the movies from the books at this point they might as well be different multiverses of the same initial story
Trust me it pisses me off they boarked the movie so bad from the first book. I love both, but the book is so much better than the movie for the things they changed in the movie.
Slightly? They changed a ton. They basiclly left in the characters, the fact its VR and the hunt.
@@aaronkoenig5785 the writer of the book made those changes. im kinda curious how they will pull it off. now if this was a television adaptation instead of a film for RP1 id be more pissed off. but for the film version it certainly made me interested in reading the book.
Kids love ready player one...hope two comes soon.
The author wrote two books is this series. RP1 and RP2. It maks sense that they make 2 movies. Not sure why they waited so long though. Many of RP2 concepts and ideas are now already being mimicked in other tv shows and media. Either way i enjoyed the books and the first movies. Even with its differences.
Presumably took so long due to the amount of cgi and spfx. From memory the first movie took 7-8 years to make. This included getting rights and studio approval etc so 6 years to make the second is probably about right.
Actually, the author didn't start writing the book until after the first movie was out, the RP2 book has only been out post covid, he also was involved in the writing of the script, so 4+ year in Hollywood time isn't that long. Just be happy GRRM wasn't the writer we'd still have 20 yrs to wait.
I hope they do better at making it actually match the book. Everything was different in the movie and although I enjoyed it and will definitely be watching it, it's like two different things.
@@jessicablair5610 the second book was ass though, so hopefully they take some creative liberties. Although admidily I'd hoped they added the IOI escape part in the first movie. It was, spectacular
@@jessicablair56102 things:
It’s a Adaptation. Some changes are necessary to work for the medium of movies. The second book also sucks, so i want it unique
I hope we get more of the low 5 than we got in the book
More than enough has been witnessed. Let's go Steve!
I wonder why no one ever made a movie version of those historical princess diary books
I can't wait to see what they do. Read the book RP1 and saw the movie loved them both for entirely different reasons. The movie was fun. The book was thought-provoking. The movie is a rainy day movie I watch quite often. The book, to be honest, while I thought it was great, I will probably never read again. As far as RP2, I hope the movie is more like the first movie than the book because the book was, well, let's just say I've tried to read it twice and 3 chapters is about all I can do.
Please have the movie reference Dungeons of Daggorath! I just found out it was in the original book this movie was based on. I loved that game as a kid!
I still like Ready Player two and One is still my fav.
If the remotely base it on the book, it will be one of Spielbergs greatest blunders
Fascinating
I read the book.... Not as good as the first
first movie was far better than the book, lets hope it stays that way for the second part
Ready Arcade Player Eleven🕹️😜
Lets move
I’m hoping for half life references
First book was out of its league. Amazing story and characters. Movie was bad. Changed way too much. Not like they left atuff out they completely changed a yon of story elements.
The second book was a wkae piece of garbage. Halliday and Ogden now stole it from the lady which was the true mastermind. Some trans kids are the best gamers and lore junkies now. The main character now all of a sudden realizes he is bisexual. I mean its some seriously stupid stuff
Can you please NOT change it completely!?!?
The rpo book was far better than the movie.
It's popular to trash the sequal but I actually enjoyed RP2
The Second Book Blew so hard, that a great Dane would be sent from America to China. I really hope it takes a number of creative liberties because holy crap RP2 is a bloated Mess with almost no Cohesion. Speilburg needs to do a LOT to make it good
Kudos to this video's author for jamming together clips of the first movie with no relevance at all to a script that says nothing definite and nothing interesting.
better be league/riot references pls
Ugh the book was crap.
I couldn't even finish RP2, it was that shit.
What was shit about it?
💯 complete dogshit, so much so that I had one of my passowrd as ihaterp2 lol
@@bennettkarr9825 Progressive radicalism, politics and fuckin' weird porn addiction. Other than that, I don't know because as I said, I didn't finish it.
the sequel no one asked for
I wasn't impressed with the first one. How could they make such a epic crossover encompassing all of cinema so generic and lackluster. It was a gimmick movie that used the crossovers to hide the fact it was a generic average movie. Not interested.
The book was so damn good. I don't read but I read that and loved it. Movie was terrible but it's grown on me.
The 2nd book was total garbage though. It went super woke
@@thermalrain_yt9725 No wonder Hollyweird wants to make it then.
@@thermalrain_yt9725The word “woke” has lost all meaning. Try something else.
The second book was absolute garbage.
The movie is and was hot garbage and always will be.
Who doesn't want to see Prince or Morgoth? wtf? The book is fun. F all the hater. bunch of nobodies who don't have movies made of their empty lives. lol
Why? IOI is no more. The main and girl had a good ending. I guess they wanna milk it more? 🤔
Oh god, the second book suuuuucked. Ernest Cline started writing in a way of a screenplay, already thinking about how they could turn it into a movie. It made for a dreadful experience, with the typical trope of 'Psych, let's revisit the idea of the first book all over again!', with a lot of woke weirdness sprinkled in.
Rp1 movie blew ass wtf 😆 🤣
The book was trash. The first one was so good then the second one felt like a dirty cash grab word jumble.
The book was a disappointment so...
Well, RP1 was a crap adaptation, so I don't hold out much hope...
Me and my friends loved it
@@VerekEditsI much preferred the book...
Yea but it's fun for a movie.
@@theflyingfoolI never read the book, and I felt the movie was perfectly fine as I didn't have anything to critique against, ditto with movies like Forrest Gump, Enders Game, The Shawshank Redemption, hell all of the Lord of the Rings books, all of the Harry Potter books, ... yeah sometimes I just want to be done in a couple hours (well except LotR that's easily 3+ for each movie)
How so
The first book was awful. That's why the only similarities were the characters names. The second book was better. But they have to go off the first movie. They can't use the book because they changed the story cause the book sucked ass.
Cash Grab and stupid. gonna ruin everything i hold dear about rp1.
Are you being forced to watch it?
Cash grab? I'm not sure you understand what movies are. They're all trying to make money except the small indie movies. I'm not sure spending 200 million dollars is a cash grab anyway.
The book was amazing so they made a really bad movie. The 2nd book was terrible but a thing so it only makes sense to make a second one.
@@thermalrain_yt9725 its gonna be shit
The first one was crap though
1st book: good
1st movie: bad
2nd book: bad
2nd movie: ?
It was a rubbish film the book was better and the second one was meh
