I owned a 1989 Holden Barina manual new. Put in aftermarket air-conditioning and it cost me $13.5k driveaway. 35 years later and just $11k more in price is pretty amazing. Mine took 12.4 seconds 0-100kph this is only a second 😢faster though and not 8 seconds like the MG 3 MY 24.5 actual hybrid. Oodles more safety gear (compulsory via ADR's) and power steering in 2024 vs unheard of in 1989. The design of the new one is consistently evolved and the fuel consumption at 3.8 is brilliant. Mine was rated at 4.8l highway and 6.2l/100km city back when they didn't do the combined figure but it would have been about 5.2l at a guess. Needs a GTI turbo 120kW halo model!
What I'm wondering is, the orange model he is standing next to is right hand drive, and the text box above states: "In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Byron Mathioudakis gets behind the wheel . . . " so why isn't he actually showing us and driving the orange model for this review, instead of using the blue overseas model with what I presume is stock Suzuki media footage? 🤔
Other Australian reviewers do drive the orange car, but only around a carpark, so that may have been a limiting factor. But at least it does give a more 'real-world' review than voicing over stock footage.

I was thinking this too...! I don't know why CarsGuide couldn't take their own shots with the orange car...

Interestingly here in the uk the orange is the no cost option for paint so good to see it in a review.
Ugly wheel trims nice on the top model surprise surprise I thought the old binnacle and round centre vents were better.
Is not cheap the engine size only 1.2 cc
Nice try mate...nice try... I almost thought this was a Suzuki ad till I read the title of the video... Nice try!! 😂
Stop calling it a hybrid when it isn't one
The old ones looked heaps better. This one looks fully munted.
Love love love our Turbo swift and after 5 years would have got a new one….. can’t understand why they won’t continue them 😮
yip all all swift sports fans are baffled at this decision they've definately shot themselves in the foot there
@@frankmckenna2290 I think they will definitely make a new Swift Sport with the hybrid powertrain.
@@luanphan2706 hope so
suzuki definitely needs to hire a good designer, most of their cars are absolutely terrible in looks. swift is better but not flawless.
That’s ugly
If you knew the rubbish they sell in my country, you would be disgusted. This Swift looks like a Q7 compared to the Renault Kwid and Fiat Mobi here
Great looking car
Exide batteries? This car is made in India!
Great care
