im trying to get a new team in place, the exit from HHC was very complicated and took a toll. the bugatti series was filmed a couple years ago and I just wanted to finish it before we started a new chapter with new people. I have a new team starting this week 6/3/24 so let's hope for the best!

The loading reminds me of having one of our horses stolen by a trainer here in Portugal. We located the trainers yard and went there to get the horse back. Cut a long story short we got her back but didn't have any transport to take her the 50km back home. After a stop at a cafe in the area we found an old man in his 80s with a fruit lorry with a canvas roof. A battered old truck that was nearly as old as the owner. We then had the issue of getting the horse in the back of the truck (remember this is a lorry for taking fruit to market and not a horse transporter/trailer). We walked with the horse to a local industrial estate and asked about if we could use a loading bay to reverse the fruit truck up and load the horse. This meant walking her through a busy packing warehouse to where the loading bays were located. The looks we got from the staff were funny as we walked the horse past them out to the back of the warehouse. Our little old man with his truck reversed up to the loading bay which was a great deal higher than the back of his wagon. Anyone that has owned horses know if they have that bond of trust with you they will do anything. Luckily we have that bond. I jumped off the dock on to the back of the fruit truck and soon enough the horse followed me on with a leap worthy of a gold medal. We pulled up the canvas sides and did all we could to strap her in. Literally a lead rope tied to the back of the cab. The back of the truck was open. We set off for home with me following behind in my car as the little old man drove so slowly that the 50km took us nearly two hours! It was as if the horse knew it was a situation that she had to remain calm, but she kept looking back at me in the car behind the whole way! Moral is if you need to get something loaded and have the mindset it will happen. And it is a great story to tell later. Suffice to say we all made it back safely with no problems. What a day!
