- How I would hit 150g of protein 🥩
I'm using 150g of protein is a rough average for most people, but if you don't know how much protein to have, then I would start with around 0.7-1g of protein per lb of body weight.
This isn't a strict rule you have to stick as everyone is different, for example mine is a lot higher as it's just something I've built up to over years of tracking, but this is a great start and is what majority of people will only need.
When it comes to hitting your protein, it's just a matter of prioritising your protein intake, and building the habit of including more protein sources for each meal.
Keep in mind though that other food items do have protein which I would still include in your daily protein intake as it just makes tracking easier, which then could also make hitting your protein that little bit easier too 🙂

Bro, you ain't slick with that rocket design! LOL! XD
Noooooo. It’s 0.8-1.4 g PER KG. 0.36 g PER POUND. For example I weight 50
Kg, I exercise and I need around 50 g of protein. I know it sounds low, I’m a nutrition-dietetics students and it’s a pain in the * to design appropriate diets. You should only do 1.4 g per kg if you’re like an elite athlete. In my case that would be 70 g. We eat way to much protein. The body suffers in the long run.
This is such a relief. I cannot begin to explain the amount of stress it puts me under to try to eat 180g of protein a day. That’s a lot of freaking protein.
Not to mention the cost and the hassle to cook every single day, for me it's fun for a while but you know how it goes 😂
Yeaa I do see a lot of people overestimate the amount of protein they actually need. I was shocked to see barely anyone mentioning it😅
3.6 is the lowest amount. For muscle growth and active lifestyles you need .7-1g for max performance
Being a body builder of a different sort right bow, I've had to start being more mindful of my protein intake since being pregnant. I've enjoyed what I've seen from your channel!
As someone who is used to eating just once no breakfast per day since early high school eating and eating enough has by far been the hardest out of everything that comes with working out. I love working out but eating feels like a chore sometimes😅
I would also recommend eggs 🥚, they’re so nourishing and have the best amino acids profile

Omg, the ×0.5 just makes the whole thing more dope.
Found a hack snack food to easily hit your protein macro in a pinch and increase your diet enjoyment - it’s chicharron (pork rinds). I just eat an entire pack of chicharron (64 g), 2 protein shakes after workout and before bed (80-100g depending on brand) and 1 normal meal (20-60g). Boom easy 1g per pound on about 2-2.3k calories.
I don’t care about the high sodium because I do a lot of cardio and HIIT so I should be consuming more sodium and electrolytes in general. I only lift 1-2x a week max. May lead to bloating if you primarily lift for exercise and don’t drink enough water.
I generally aim for 3.2g/day of table salt.
I compete in martial arts.
I frequently eat low fat pork (Kassler), white fish, chicken breast, eggs, liver, etc.
I’m down 10 kg of mostly fat at 5’8.

@@l_eel_em it's .8 - 2g per KG not lbs. so the minimum for a woman who doesn't exercise is around 40g
From Healthline: "A typical U.S adult should consumer around 50 g of dietary protein per day. However, this number will vary depending on a person’s age, sex, health status, and activity levels."

hell no 150g protein a day is not normal for the average person
Bro pulled out a suspicious looking rocket
Being 6’4 270, the low end is 189g of protein, high end is 270g of protein… dang
You do not need 270g protein per day.
Being somewhat close to 200g protein is enough.
I can’t imagine you have 270 lbs of muscle.
Unless you are Ronnie Coleman then maybe.
Damn bro the camera angles when you eat are insane 😳 but also thx for the tips they help alot!
Hahahaha youre welcome bro!
150g is not the average protein intake for the majority of people 😭. Also I hear very conflicting information about the recommended amount, a lot of resources online say 0.8-1g per kg of body weight which is half what you recommend and much more inline with what the majority of people actually get (obviously bit different if you body build though)
Um i think most of them say 0,8-1g per lb or 1-2g per kg
I just pulled 150g as a very rough average if the minimum intake of a female was 100g and the maximum intake of a male was 200g
But everyone is different and I'd find one that works best for you
Usually to optimally build muscle for kilograms, it was be 1.2-1.8g of protein per kg and even up to 3.3g if you sedentary. I'm usually familiar with the 0.8-1g range mainly being for pounds
But again, these are just guides and not a rule!
@@l_eel_em Thanks for your reply! The British Heart Foundation and Harvard health both recommend 0.8 grams of protein per kg of body weight. Do you think that's just a minimum for non-active people?
@Duck we live in a world where the establishments want weak men.. could factor in. Train and eat a shit load of protein, of course fibre, healthy fats and the micronutrients too. Your eyes and body is a better source than anything mainstream.
@@duck6100 “But, according to a review published in Nutrients, this RDA for protein should be viewed as the minimum amount needed to meet your basic nutritional requirements. In other words, it will keep your body running, but shouldn’t serve as an optimal daily protein goal.”
That 0.8g per kg would just be what someone needs in a normal diet, not to build muscle

It’s 0,8-1 g of protein per kilogram, not per pound. Which is two times less protein than said in the video
I see 1.4 per kg most commonly
The actual range is 1.6g-2.2g/kg for maximizing muscle growth or 0.73-1g/lbs.

What you are quoting is the minimum (vastly under dosed) amount of protein for a *sedentary* person.

Well im pretty sure this video is more towards people trying to build muscle in which u need about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight so he was correct

he is talking about for gaining muscle, not just average eating.
When you are looking toward optimal muscle growth the recommendation is 1.6-2.2g/kg or 0.73-1lb/lbs of weight.

What Chris is referring to is the minimal amount of protein a (poor) and sedentary person should consume.

Good guide however its good to note that actually eating your protein is a much better source than relying on protein powders. Nothing wrong with protein powders/bars/etc, but it should definitely be a secondary option, after all it is only a Supplement.
After doing this for the last 2 months, I ate a LOT more than usual a few days ago, over the last like 3 days I’ve been hungry but haven’t wanted to eat anything (still keeping around 2kcal and 150g protein) I’m considering going on a full day fast. My main issue is I get tired of foods quickly, like having eggs just for breakfast 3 days in a row will make me hate eggs for 2 weeks, anyone else have this second issue? I’m just not really hungry or don’t have an appetite for anything at all😪😅
If you’re tracking calories and protein, and get tired of foods quickly why dont you just have different food variety every day?
As long as you’re getting in your nutritional targets, get creative! I eat different food every single day, otherwise there’s no way i could have done this for this long eating the same thing day in and day out
Thanks for clarifying that I had to cook the chicken breast
Rump roast is such an overlooked cut of meat. It’s a little hard to chew and it definitely gets old, it it’s dirt cheap.
