De 1.6THP is een befaamd en berucht motorblok. Dat dit niet aan de orde is gekomen vind ik onbegrijpelijk, juist omdat de rest van de occasion video's van hoog niveau zijn.
Next time put the title in same language as u planning to speak entire video. Just a tip..

I've had 2 308 and never any trouble great cars. Much better than my vw anyway! All this Peugeot unreliable cliche is gone. Would defiantly recommend them I've done over 200,000 in both my old one and new one with no problem. Also a few of my friends who drive other Peugeot recommended them to me because they had no trouble either
Hi, did you consider changing the timing chain within that mileage? I have one 308 VTi 2011, 110000 km done, just wondering about timing chain.
Recent een 308GTI gekocht van 2011. 1 sleutel was al vervangen en een andere klikte niet meer goed open. Motor lekte flink olie en koelvloeistof sensor ging sporadisch af ook al was het reservoir vol. Achterbaklampje was ook defect. Dus herken veel van de genoemde problemen. Gelukkig tegenwoordig 12 maanden garantie, dus tot dusver nog niks zelf hoeven betalen. Maandelijks op Zandvoort Vrij rijden te vinden ermee, dus nog steeds blij met de aankoop!
Nonsense. I have been driving my 308 for 8 years since 2010 and never faced the problems mentioned above. A most pleasant driving experience..solid and safe and spacious inside. Eat lightbulbs ? hahaha never even had to change one single lightbulb in all these 8 years. Neither have I changed a single fuse.

Cant understanstand people talking nonsense me aswell bought a 308 11 years ago never had a single problem or fault ,,, one needs to own the car to speak about it
I had no issues from the video except the lightbulbs.
The light bulb problem is probably due to their weather
So the low power engines had to be worked hard due to chassis weight. The rear engine mount gets strained. The wiring harness gets torn. Coolant leaks near the temperature sensor. The engine can overheat. The headlight assembly is prone to fracturing. The bulbs get used up quickly. The dashboard lighting is prone to blowing fuses. Sometimes the key doesn't work. And all the keys are poorly made and break easily. Yet - it's still reliable.... for a Peugeot.
Mijn ouders rijden al jaren Peugeot, maar ze hebben nog nooit problemen gehad met sleutels die uit elkaar vielen of lampen die om de haverklap kapot gingen.

I bought a second-hand ten-year-old P308 1.6 petrol engine version (125,000kms) last year. I have now had it for a 12 months, done 25,000kms. My car does NOT have 120hp as the manufacturer claims, the engine is noisy and chronically underpowered with sluggish acceleration. The engine has leaked oil on a.regular basis (which I fixed) and the air con has never worked. Very poor fuel economy - 6,5l per 100 kms (motorway and rural driving with a light foot ! ). The remote lock control packed up (battery was ok) so the circuit had to be replaced. Pros are: Good brakes and handling, comfortable seats and ride, stylish interior and dashboard. I DO NOT recommend buying the 1600 petrol version - get the HDi turbodiesel instead, for better engine oerformance and fuel economy.
mediastarguest did you try the 1.6 turbo which deliver 156 hp?
Peugeot 5008 oude model gehad, altijd problemen met motor (kapotte sensors, distr. riem problemen etc paar keer in noodmode naar de garage moeten rijden.
Dus later geen Peugeot met deze motor gekocht. THP nu ook in de Opel, dus ook geen Opel meer (en Mini en Citroen)
Useful review. Not easy if you have to cover the whole range of Peugeot 308s. It is an undeniable fact that there were electrical problems and rather expensive spare parts like aircon coil and pump. Having said that, I am satisfied with Peugeot's willingness to help replace parts that were due to engine design flaws. I have been an avid fan of Peugeot, and still am, having driven the 2010 and 2014 Griffe models, the latter definitely an improvement over the previous one. I still own the Griffe due to its relatively better performance and easy drive factor. On the whole, a really good hatchback for those who are willing to service car regularly after the 5-year warranty period.
Can you please explain why you dont recomend 4 gear auto?

4-traps automaat skippen maar de THP is een fijne motor? Uhhhh? Met deze tegenstrijdigheden raak ik de weg kwijt.

Beware .... the valves go on this due to a design fault and its a very big bill! This then doubles again as soon after fuel pump needs replacing as a result. Peugeot knows its a design fault but refuses to stand by the customer, even though 3 cars plus in 12 years, low km's and always serviced at one of their dealers.
Perhaps you were unlucky enough to fall for a 'Friday afternoon' built car? As I like so many others have had no problems such as this with my own 308.

Is it the automatic gearbox reliable??
I have 308 thp 140 ch Auto gearbox, 133000 km and a problem with valves. It seems to be common to a lot of AL4 gearbox.... code p1167. 600€ to repair
This is totally senseless and inaccurate review I've a Peugeot 308 exactly the same model....I've been driving it for more than five years now the car is very reliable, so far none of the problem happen as you mentioned ,so just don't brag and mislead information.....
He said in the begining that the car was very reliable, just because these faults might be the most common does absolutely not mean that they will happen, just check any other used car review of any car, they will always name a lot of faults.

I seen many onwer comment have good and bad. I planning to get one 308 1.6 turbo engine in 6 speed gearbox year make 2013-2014. Anyone share their car experience before? I heard most worry about fuel pump, engine oil leak & temperature overheat. Is it true? Secondly, I am staying in Asia country far more than Europe. The spare parts most expensive here and difficulty to maintain the car after 5 years old.
i own mine for 11 years not a single fault all these german reviews can`t accept that peugeot cars got better than any german car in terms of reliabilty

betrouwbaar ? vriend van me heeft 1tje gehad binnen de 3 jaar 2 keer versnellingsbak moeten laten repareren en de motor begon te fluiten en Peugeot wist niet wat het was
+Thierry Demaer Betekend dat dat elke 308 zulke problemen heeft? Kan natuurlijk exemplarisch zijn.
+Martijn Vugts is niet de enige die ik ken met dat probleem zeker de versnellingsbak
