Those 6.2's aren't messing around, but mad respect to that 5.0 for keeping pace for the most part. It looks so fun.

There is a replacement for displacement. It's called 4 cams, 32 valves and Twin independent variable timing and a 10 speed

Good runs, already knew the 5.3 trucks wouldn't hang, they're silly for trying but hey it's all in good fun. I love a race no matter the outcome. That 6.2 truck will be a problem if he ever runs nitrous on it. That Ford would be a beast with a whipple on it. So far the only truck I've lost to was a whipple Shelby f150 with like 700hp so it's okay that he beat me.

I have the silverado 6.2 10 speed z71 and my brother has a F-150 5.0 10 speed fx4 he’s never beat me, stock vs stock the 6.2 is still a little faster I beat my brother by about 2 whole trucks from 0 to 100mph, as matter of fact this is a video of a few guys racing a silverado 6.2 10 speed vs F-150 5.0 10 speed ruclips.net/video/FbDufh4i5k0/видео.html both trucks are crew cab and stock

@@campbell0162 the thing is the F-150 5.0 can run e85 but the silverado 5.3 can’t so the ford has that advantage.... both trucks crew cab and on 93 octane the ford should be about 2 whole trucks ahead 0 to 100 mph and e85 should ad about 10hp to the stock tune. You have the 10 speed 5.3 ?

The 10 spd is a real advantage... love mine. Also, swapping a 6l80 in a gen3 truck at the moment because of this.

How come nobody does anything with the 8-10 speed Silverados? These 4-6 speed trannies in these chevs are a severe bottleneck without aggressive gearing
@Your Pappy obviously not but these 10 speed f150s are giving out gapsauce like it's free, on a 4L80 it takes more than 5.13 gears even to match first gear on a 10 speed with 3.08's its crazy how fast it makes these trucks

Yeah the 5.0 makes great power but there expensive to replace after making big power. For instance. I have a perfectly good engine ready to sell right now and had it posted for 2 weeks and not a soul has bought it. I guess there to busy paying their truck payments. Remember a 5.3 is a $500 engine. A 3rd Gen coyote is a $5000 engine. Put $4500 into the 5.3 and let’s see who wins all motor. Just saying

My ford has been 12.1@113 before the exhaust install. And yes the 2 last trucks were 5.3s.

@@StReEtReApEr12R the funny thing is that f150 probably costs somewhere around $45,000 with the 5.0 v8 as an option. I could buy an old LS 5.3 Silverado and mod it for only 5 to 10 grand and have a faster truck...
@@campbell0162 yeah with a fraction of the features, reliability and longevity. Then do just a 5 Star tune on the 5.0 and watch out.
@@StReEtReApEr12R well they're not anymore reliable then low mileage 5.3s. Some of them burn quite a bit of oil (which happened to my buddy's new 2020 Ford f150 5.0), some have ignition coil issues, as well as faulty electronic throttles that my buddy is also recently starting to have problems with at 15,000 miles.
GM has that 10 speed too I'd like to see a 6.2l 10 speed versus 5 L 10 speed but with the same configuration truck to make it fair and same rear end gearing to make it fair they can both be crew cab short bed two wheel drive and I might want to see and you're smoking 20-year-old trucks not saying the coyote ain't quick but just saying... Obviously anything can beat anything depending on many factors
Stock for stock the 6.2/a10 will beat it. The 5.0 just has way more advantage with tuning cause of more cams adjustment.
@@reyesracing85 yes figured but eco with 10spd will beat both stock for stock and tuned it gets biggest jump also cuz of turbos... I was really hoping GM would give us the Cadillac 3.6 L twin turbo or better yet maybe the next generation Silverado will be based on the LT5 and have dual overhead cams obviously a regular crank shaft and way detoned but it's possible it would only be in their 1500 so they would never put it in a HD they're not dumb Ford found out the hard way now they're using a 7.3 L pushrod beast cuz they finally learned it took them till the last freaking iteration of the three valve to finally become reliable in commercial application

What would fbo and e85 do to my 2019 ram? I know it wouldn't be as fast as this but it would have to improve performance. Stock these rams are close in performance to the 8 speed 6.2 silverados. I watched a video where they ran an 8 speed 6.2 vs an 8 speed ram from their lot and it was almost dead even. So i know they aren't slow.
E85 would help you ram very nicely

@@HeathsHobbyLobby They were both crew cabs. The ram lost but not by much at all. I'm a ram owner and i was honestly in shock that the ram did as well as it did.
@@the40735 interesting I have a 2017 6.2 L 8-speed and my brother has a 2012 5.7 hemi single cab 6 speed and we stay neck and neck till speed limiter. Both stock. I have raced a crew cab 5.7 l and put about a car's length behind my back bumper. But I think sea level plays a big role in who wins in these races. I'm at sea level. Up at 6,000 ft the EcoBoost are beating everything, forced induction.

In all honesty 5.0 heads are just as good as a ported head from factory lol and well the 10spd might as well be a drag race trans too, it's actually a big factor in why the coyote trucks and mustangs run so well. Without the 10spd the performance is not the same. So I'd say it's a fair race. New tech vs a 20yr old design and the 20yr old design is still keeping up without using boost.

20yr old design might be "keeping up" but it takes a lot more cubic inches and a helluva lot of mods to do it... 😂😂😂😂

Yeah well the F150 was door to door almost to a truck with over a liter more and a TON more mods. Now through all those mods on the F150
