saw them in Paris opening for Living Color. I was on the front row and turned to look at the crowd. Instead of a crazy mosh, all the metalheads there were just with their jaws dropped trying to process what was happening.
I searched high & low a 32 year old compact disc 'Television' DHofH (1992) in my flat. I then dusted off & recharged a disc player. I much prefer this "live" Beatnigs version. They are performance artists, as they are Hip Hop rappers. I love repurposed handmade instruments.
Glad you like it! And there are so many Oz bands on my channel, I was thinking of making a playlist. Might be too long tho, with full sets. Check em out.
Wonderful! Where was the angle grinder? I saw these guys while I was working as stage crew at Portsmouth Guildhall at around the same time. Blew my mind! lol
These guys were the shit! Along, with Disposable heroes of Hiphoprisy, Consolidated, EBN and early Meat Beat Manifesto. True gem, fer sure.
Yeah! Maybe you saw it, but few have so far - the whole concert is now up here: ruclips.net/video/a-A2ODOm2pQ/видео.html

I remember seeing the Beatnigs perform one night during summer 1988 in Vancouver. A pretty awesome gig, though I was jet-lagged at the time.
The Genesis of spearhead
Michael franti is a true Legend
wow..never seen any footage of them live before
Amazing to see this... both bands didn’t last long enough
Michael Franti has a rather successful solo career..
Outrageous . Bay Area forever!! Love these guys.
The Beatnigs played one hell of a gig at the Leadmill and brought the house down. Great concert.
Good song!! He made this in the 80s imagine what he would sing today lol
The fact that he’s actually manipulating the siren instead of sampling it
Where straight teeth in your mouth are more important than the words that come out of it. Indeed

If you're reading this...miss you Andre, Michael and hope you're all alive and well. Mosh pits sure messed up my back, though!
Ummm I think these guys heavily influenced Tom Morello ...
You're probably right!
