Don't fall for the whiners that say your stealing wishes. It's just items that fell out of pockets or people throwing trash into the water. You see actual wishing wells in many cities in Europe. The city has workers periodically clear all the coins out. Even some malls in the US have the same thing and they do the same. You hunted the items, you keep them.
Maybe their wish was for someone in the future to find their coin and put it to good use! Some people just automatically jump to the worst conclusion. I feel kind of bad for them. Their world must be a really scary place...
Brad, if you're in trouble for stealing wishes because you picked up some coins from a creek then we're all in trouble! Your videos are awesome, keep doing what you do. Love it!
This is a (gorgeous) stream, not a wishing well or a fountain. I can't imagine any Vermonters (I am one) standing around a stream in the middle of the woods, tossing their money in on purpose in order to have their wishes come true. :)
I have to confess, I make a wish in bodies of water, must be in my genes. But I used a small banded or pretty rock I find nearby. I give anyone permission to keep my rocks and even my wishes if they want, 😂.
Brad, throwing coins in a stream is technically littering. You are performing an environmental service. Thank you!! While in the woods, visitors should leave NO TRACE. Great video. Your music really sets the tone!
Lol , no your not stealing there birthday wish. They just gave you there germs or bad coal blowing out the candles and wished you had not eaten such a big piece of there cake. 😜😜
You'll never satisfy that segment of society that longs to be offended by everything. They live to point out fault in others. Please keep doing exactly what you do Brad because it's awesome!
No one in the history of the world has thrown a coin into a stream to make a wish. And even if they did, that’s not how it works so they never got their wish anyway. Nothing stolen, just found. Love your videos, keep’em coming.
The hurricane in the early or mid 2010s messed up so much structure in Vermont. Townshend reservoir turned to a mud hole so many rivers and streams got changed permanently.
I have always thought that the wish was the action, not the object. Think about wishing as you blow out birthday candles or while watching a falling star. If I had thrown a penny in a Vermont stream, nothing would make me happier than for someone to find it 100 years later and imagine it’s story. You’re the latest chapter in those stories! Please keep sharing them - they make this old Bostonian happy in the Texas heat.
No you’re not. Once the “wish” hits water it get carried out to go where the wish can be filled. The coin is just symbol that someone made one. You are safe to take. 😊
Wishing wells and fountains are for wishes. Rivers, streams, and creeks are fair game for us detectorists. Any day in a beautiful stream is a good day. Nice video, Brad!
When we make wishes, we offer something up to symbolize that, the coin or token is given up to “pay” for the wish and is not owned anymore by the wisher anymore. It can’t be stolen. If the landowner you got permission from doesn’t want it, it’s yours, you didn’t steal it. Love your videos! 🥰💕❤️👍👍 Keep the coins without guilt as payment for cleaning the trash from the stream! Thank you for doing that.
This one right here, this was my wish and it didn't come true so I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back!! Goonies never say die! Keep doing good things Brad!
It isn't the money or special item thrown, it is the prayer, wish, and intention that has the power. So, no worries, you can't steel wishes or prayers. Carry on Mr Brad, find joy in what you do, we will travel along with you feeling the same! ❤
My wife and I feel that their dreams and wishes are safe! The coin is only something to symbolize that they have made a wish or have a dream. It doesn’t hold the dream or wish, only makes it public that they have dreams and wishes like everyone else. The coin is a perfect example of the areas history and you are an amazing historical archeologists!!! Keep doing what you’re doing and we hope that you continue to be always as passionate about history as you are right now!!! Best wishes, Bill & Grace
I do hope you keep your findings. You are not stealing, your helping the environment.. who knows, someone probably wished for better environment. You helped deliver their wish. Keep your findings 🥰
I think the statute of limitations on coins tossed in wishing wells/fountains/wilderness trout pools is 24 hours! If you haven't gotten your wish by then it probably ain't going to happen. Keep them as a reminder of your adventures. Really enjoy your videos!
Brad, you are not "stealing wishes" and the Trolls who say you are, are just jealous that you live in such beautiful place. And as far as the key you found, it is from the 80's. I had a 1980 Dodge Dynasty and the key is identical to the one you found. Thanks for sharing the beauty of Vermont with the world.
Your wish is to find cool things with your metal detector so both parties are good. Don't feel guilty at all. We love your videos, thanks again Brad 👍🏻
I like that scene in the British TV series, the Detectorists, where Andy goes into the pub and buys a pint of beer with the coins he found metal detecting that day. He sets the coins on the bar counter, along with some other dirt and debris that were in his pocket. Perhaps you can buy something special with the face value coinage you find…
The wish is in the casting of the coin hoping for something to occur in your life. The finding of and removal of the coins is now fulfilling the wish of another to find something. Thanks for the weekly videos..😎🍺
One of my dreams is to find a lost abandoned wishing well full of old coins. All the wishes in the well at the shopping mall I used to go to are now in someone's pocket. lol Keep on picking those coins man!
It's been some years, but nothing better on a hot summer day than finding a spot like this in the Vermont woods and just relaxing in a flowing pool of clear cool water with peaceful nature all around. That's what I'm wishing for!
Treasure has to be reported to district finds/archeologist person, Treusere is more than 6 silver/Gold items in a 10 square meter area in most European countries, or it could be pre crist things also needs reporting to yore same person.
Sir, thank you for going back into the home of "GMMD", THE MOUNTAINS. When you make a find in them, you are indeed helping us understand the past, one-site-at-a-time. People of these mountains lived very hard and helped build this nation. EACH find is a treasure, large or small as you have shown us previously. Thank you very much. GOD BLESS and be safe.
As Mouth said in “Goonies”about stealing people’s wishes, “Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here, this was my dream, my wish, and it didn't come true.” You’re killing it Brad. Love what you’re doing.
I had never heard of throwing coins into a stream. Maybe a water pool or fountain. Most of those coins are probably from people sitting down (like the ones I find in my husbands chair, along with everything else he loses there.) Don't throw them back. Actually you are cleaning up nature and you could say that this is how she rewards you, so keep them. Enjoyed this video. Love streams like this one.
The music that you have made for your videos is exceptionally good, and as a musician, I really appreciate that. I also appreciate that you manage the levels of the music very well, so that it doesn't obscure the vocal content. To ad to that, the cinematography is also excellent. Very few folks take the time to pay attention to these things, especially light levels, and stereo balance, etc. All the best to you!!
Your finds are very interesting. I am also a fan of the “mudlarkers” out of Scotland and England. They go searching along riverbeds, creeks, and in what they call “bottle dumps.” People did, indeed, throw their “trash” (non food items) in these places from waaay back in time. Beach-combing is terrific there, too. Thanks for the videos you give us. Lots of fun to watch. 👏👏👏
Brad your uncovering the history and all tells us a story ! Wishes are for the people that are among the living! You may vary well be the wishes Extended! We love your videos! I hope someone remembers I was here kind of thing.
When you're in water like that, bring a magnet!! Then you'll see before you go digging for a blade or glass attachments!! Just a good idea!! Always enjoy what you find Brad. You're really the only metal detecting guy I watch. Be safe!! Stealing wishes?? More power to ya I say!!! That's funny stuff.. what a gorgeous spot ❤❤❤
the car key is from the late 80's to early 90's Chrysler vehicle. I had a couple of those era trucks and Jeeps that all used that shape key. The Chrysler symbol is specific to that brand.
How do these people know what others wished for? Perhaps that wish had come true already, perhaps that wish was for someone to find their coin a hundred years from the time it was tossed in & the person finding it would stand in the creek & wonder what kind of adventure had taken place all those years ago? Who's to say? Keep them Brad, you earned them.
Okay stealing wishes. You cannot steal wishes from a deceased person. Our country has become soft and offended by everything. Dude you have a great video every week. Have a good hunt my man.
Hi Brad, love your videos. I metal detected for a number of years in North and South Carolina finding lots of Civil War stuff, using a White's Eagle. I got tired of trying to spend the modern dimes, nickels, quarters and halves that were discolored, red, brown and black because of the looks and protestations I got from cashiers. So I started spray painting them silver, problem solved. Keep up the good work pal.
Beautiful area , even though not much treasures found I bet you enjoyed the scenery . I feel you should not throw coins back in . Probably not coins for wishes that were found .if they were you have it on video which will remain as a wish . Ty for sharing Brad
Brad, the "zipper" piece has the Adidas symbol on it and looks like a piece of a closure pull. Couldn't find a picture in any Adidas clothing or leisure wear ads to verify but I think we are pretty close to the identity of the piece.
You are just fine doing what you do. "People's wishes" what is that? I wish you to find a gold hoard for you and your beautiful family. Thank you for your great content. I really like it. Thank you. AAAAA PLUS
Hi Brad, no your not stealing wishes. Better to have them out of the water. Always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you, Joyce from Connecticut, USA❤️🙏🇺🇸
If a person made a wish and then threw a coin that you later found, I believe the universe heard their wish when it was thrown and no harm done by it being picked up. One could say “I am going to rethrow this coin and please grant the original wish of the wisher”. I say no harm done by keeping your treasures. Thx Brad
Excellent finds, and if the throwing pennies into a stream actually worked, I’d be a heck of a lot better looking than I am, younger, and I’d have a supermodel for a wife. Dig all the coins you want!!!
Gorgeous (no pun intended) place to hunt! Keep the coins. Obviously those people actually believe that a wish can come true if they discard something of value when they “make a wish.” Hmmmmm
The wagon wheel rim makes a wonderful wood rack for your firewood! i weld 2 pieces of angle iron to the bottom to make it stand up and paint it black!!! i have 2 by my wood stove and they are the best thing i have ever used!!!!!
Wish Coins? If someone way back when or even just a few weeks ago tossed a coin expecting a wish to be granted; that was then. The wish is not contingent on the coin staying where it was tossed, but how determined the person was that tossed it to make their own wishes come true. They're called goals.
Don't worry about stealing wishes. The person who made the wish gave the coin to the river or pool. Maybe the stream wants you to have them in thanks for the clean up you do. You could say the stream made a wish!
absolutely awesome drone / and landscape camera work. One of the great things I get to see on your channel sometimes. thanks for your commitment to that aesthetic Brad.
I would love to see you detect Huntington Gorge! My family used to go there often when I was a kid. Lots of folks died there over the years, sucked into underwater caves.
You are not stealing wishes! Only coins thrown in wells or fountains count as wishing coins. :) I wanted mention the awesome rock formation in the video at 10:53. It totally looks like a wolf's head!! Love all the beautiful scenery you give us in your videos. Thank you!!
A city I lived in had a fountain by the courthouse. People used it as a wishing well. I would wade into it in the evening and collect enough change to buy cigarettes for the next day. I would say a silent thank you to the hopeful folks that threw them in. I have no guilt.
Probably my 20th video watching Brad. I love how we always says WE. He gives the viewers an experience like no other RUclips channel on metal detecting. Great information he shares, awesome music and amazing fines. Brad is even keel - no whining or crying if he doesn't find anything.
Even official wishing wells have to clean out the coins occasionally. Most donate them to charities. Maybe you could start a charity jar with the modern coins and donate it to a charity that means something to you.
Somebody must've been wishing really hard if they threw their car key in there! Which is to say, I don't think you're stealing anybody's wishes. And by now, as old as the coins you're finding are, the wishes have either come true or they never will. You can't un-grant a wish.
Here in Europe it's common for the city to give the recovered coins from wishing wells to charities and social projects in area. For example the famous Trevi fountain in Rome gets cleaned out every day and the coins (averaging over 1.6 million US-$ per year) are given to the catholic charity organization Caritas.
Thank you for the great adventures that you bring us on, you are a pleasure to watch and I look forward to it every week, I have a lot of family up in irasburg and plan on visiting that area this summer, definitely bringing the detector
I personally like the videos of you being in the streams!! Hopefully you will do some more soon. Thanks for your videos and input on when and where you think the items came from
If you were finding a bunch of coins of different types like 25-50 per time you were at one of the falls I would say they might be wishes. But these were pools that people went to to cool off. Maybe a couple went there to have a picnic. But I think that very few people would be there to make a wish. Now if it was a natural spring that might be different. Keep doing what you are awesome at Brad. We love watching your videos!!! ❤
Whatever you decide, it speaks to why I like watching your channel. You are kind, considerate, and positive. All things I need to do better at. Your easy smile and pleasant attitude make your adventures watchable. I wish you great success. Just need to find a stream to drop this coin into. 🏆🤞
I don't think you're stealing people's wishes. Fountains get cleared out all the time after all. I agree with others that you hunted them, you keep them.
If peoples wishes haven’t come true by now I think it’s safe to say it’s not going to happen. You go ahead and pick up all the coins you find. It’s just silly to think these coins are peoples wishes. Keep it up.
Love your videos! Don't ever let the Nay Sayers or Negative Nancy's ever discourage you for looking for treasures in the streams or anywhere your detecting for artifacts. I appreciate you sharing your videos with us. Finders Keepers
Or Whinos for that matter !
We have a fountain in our state park and the coins are collected every year and go towards an appreciation BBQ for the workers.
What are we…in a Goonie movie?
If those wishes were coming true, they would have already been granted! No worries Brad! Keep swinging!
There would be a lot more horses there if they were wishes.
Stealing wishes? That’s the silliest thing I’ve heard of…you are not stealing anything. I love your videos and wait to see them each week.
The logo you showed on that piece of gear appeared to be 3 triangles making up a bigger triangle that is one of the logos used by Adidas
Stealing wishes is the dumbest, most superstitious, plain ignorant BS I have heard in quite a while.
Love it!

Agree!
Absolutely!
Does eating a piece of birthday cake steal the wishes of the one who blew out the candle? Nah. Keep them and enjoy your finds!
Excellent
That is a great analogy
Lol , no your not stealing there birthday wish. They just gave you there germs or bad coal blowing out the candles and wished you had not eaten such a big piece of there cake. 😜😜
You'll never satisfy that segment of society that longs to be offended by everything. They live to point out fault in others. Please keep doing exactly what you do Brad because it's awesome!
I have to wonder if you may want to pan there sometime! Beautiful scenery...keep the coins!❤
No one in the history of the world has thrown a coin into a stream to make a wish. And even if they did, that’s not how it works so they never got their wish anyway. Nothing stolen, just found. Love your videos, keep’em coming.
The zipper thing is the eyelet from a Adidas training shoe!
The hurricane in the early or mid 2010s messed up so much structure in Vermont. Townshend reservoir turned to a mud hole so many rivers and streams got changed permanently.
Beautiful spot! You aren't stealing wishes - lol! Thanks for taking us along!
What a beautiful area to hunt, truly that was the treasure of the day. Keep the coins.

No, you aren't stealing anything. People just lost their items. Happy hunting! Thank you for all of the work you put into your videos!!
No you’re not. Once the “wish” hits water it get carried out to go where the wish can be filled. The coin is just symbol that someone made one. You are safe to take. 😊
I like that the wish gets out to go where it can be filled.
You’re definitely not stealing wishes! Coins in wild places are fair game imho. Thank you for taking us along on your fun adventures!
Not like it's a actual wishing well 🤣 just a mountain stream with a few trinkets and coins! Great episode brother 😁
Thanks for sharing!

Brad....You make wishes come true every Friday.
The wish was made, not in the coin. The act is done and in the realm of spirit and emotion. Keep the coins! And thank you for the adventure😊
you are finding history either tossed by the people living there or lost. keep them and keep on showing us the great videos!
Don't throw them back. They're polluting the stream. It's a beautiful area. It should be kept crystal clear.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
What a awesome spot. Brad you do such a great job editing your vids 🏋🏻♂️
Keep the coins Brad.
I personally like the videos of you being in the streams!! Hopefully you will do some more soon. Thanks for your videos and input on when and where you think the items came from
Maybe they were wishing for blessings to whoever finds the coins or to those who watched you find them.
Fun video, nice to see you venture out of your comfort zone!! Keep the damn coins!!
Your channel never gets old I freaking love when you post new vids.
Even if they were thrown in as wishes, if they haven't come true yet, they're probably not going to. 😊
You aren't stealing anything, Brad. Keep on doing what you're doing.
Whatever you decide, it speaks to why I like watching your channel. You are kind, considerate, and positive. All things I need to do better at. Your easy smile and pleasant attitude make your adventures watchable. I wish you great success. Just need to find a stream to drop this coin into. 🏆🤞
A day in the woods and the sounds 😊👍.
I don't think you're stealing people's wishes. Fountains get cleared out all the time after all. I agree with others that you hunted them, you keep them.
GOONIES!! lovely place, as always, enjoying your Chanel, perspective and take on possibilities 😀
If peoples wishes haven’t come true by now I think it’s safe to say it’s not going to happen. You go ahead and pick up all the coins you find. It’s just silly to think these coins are peoples wishes. Keep it up.
The scenery you do is just beautiful! Love it. You are doing a great job. Thanks for allowing me to feel my ancestors lives.
As for stealing wishes, rather people do random acts of kindness and make someone's wish come true.
Love your videos! Don't ever let the Nay Sayers or Negative Nancy's ever discourage you for looking for treasures in the streams or anywhere your detecting for artifacts. I appreciate you sharing your videos with us. Finders Keepers
