Congratulations! It makes me so happy when relics of such importance are found by folks who genuinely appreciate them for what they are, but more importantly, where they came from. Thanks for documenting your hunt and sharing it with us!
You are one lucky son of a gun! Not only great finds, but the most beautiful place to explore as well! Love your videos! Thanks for sharing, from Australia, cheers, Chris
Man those are some amazing finds. You could make a tv show with your videos. As long as no one tried to edit them. lol. It blows my mind the stuff you find that would most likely never be found if you weren't out there digging. Great job and great video. Can't wait for the next one. You are really becoming my favorite RUclips channel.
What exciting finds. That buckle looks just a few years old but is hundreds of years old. So exciting. I live in Oregon we never have things that old. Love the hikes and finds. I am 76 so no long back trail hikes for me ! So happy I did a lot in my younger years.
I've watched this episode several times so now I must Comment! Holy Cow Dude, FIND OF a LIFETIME for sure! 53rd Regimental sword plate! Not to mention, colonial spur, two largies and the list goes on! You underplay your site, I would suspect a small encampment with the mix of relics your finding, keep digging that location, there could very well be hat insignia and some super overcoat sized Rev. buttons! Thanks for sharing your adventure and HH
I've only recently found your channel so I'm watching all that I can. I was wondering about bears when you mentioned your Glock. The woods are wonderful, you can almost see Mohawks and Abenaki and Mohicans tracking their enemies! The 53rd eventually became the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry and,I believe, remain as the 3rd Battalion The Light Infantry. Incidentally, the museum of this old regiment was blown up by the IRA in 1992 when it was located in Shrewsbury Castle which was built in 1070 or so. It was a very, very easy target with no serving soldiers within miles. I enjoy your videos very much indeed as I am nuts about American history and to see Colonial material being dug up is very exiting!
Congrats on your amazing find! Even though I don't metal detect, I love the history that you share. (I'm a genealogist/researcher) I love your videos, editing, etc. Its as if you have a cameraman walking with you at times. Congrats again! Can't wait to see what you find on your next outing.
What an exciting trip for you! Congrats on all the cool finds and thanks for sharing!! The 1775 coin....to think it was made one yr before our country's Independence. Wow. Another great video Brad!!
In my area of connecticut we used to call them Indian Pipes. I lived near a couple of bogs and they would be often in the woods. Beautiful . Congratulations on the beautiful find. It is incredible
That buckle brings up the age old question. How did it get there? Did it belong to a turncoat? Did the person just decide to stay rather than return to Britain? Was it a trophy from a battle? You have to love the mystery!! Great video and thanks for inspiring me to think about the history of the Rev War. Well done.
I'm not up to speed on the independence wars but it may be worth asking the question of whether there were raids carried out in the local area. This regiment was formed of guys from North England and had seen alot of action in many other battles it could be that they were used due to being veterans who had seen action and as such may be toughened enough to carry out the cowardly raids along with the native people.
You may have found the remains of one of a soldier from the British 53rd Regiment who led Indian raiders of the infamous “Royalton Raid” of 1780. Brilliant.
Love these older videos. Nice to see things from the beginning and see where you have been and what you have found since then, ie: your gold coin, and so much more.
This was one exciting video! Super finds! I loved the stirrup. You don't find many in tact even from the civil war! Awesome historical relics. Congratulations!
@@GMMD we just watched this last night finally and I have to say, that is an incredible dream find. I could tell it was a Rev War plate the minute it got into your hand. Haven't seen many and have never dug one. Forwarded your video to my Relic hunting buddy this morning. We've been digging Colonial and Rev War sites here in Northern Virginia since the mid-90s and other than a few British Rev War buttons and even one USA Continental Army button, that's been about it. To find a plate, and a marked plate from the Revolutionary War is a phenomenal find! Now that is a find that would be hard to ever top! Congratulations! Watching your video of it being dug was the next best thing to finding one myself.
Green Mountain Metal Detecting Interesting question, and good answer by DHO. I’m in rural Ohio and often wonder why people would simply abandon so many of the possessions in general. I’d think a bunch of poor farmers would keep their brass candlesticks and pewter spoons if they moved out!
Ty Kendrick ... I have wondered about the spoons as well. I would think for people living in conditions such as those, any possession would be very important. Even a spoon that had broken would be mended.
Brad, put the vid on the BIG screen, and paused it. Went and made my 3 dippy eggs, toast w/ Jelly, hash browns and 3 pieces of bubbly bacon, and my coffee of course, and brought it all in to the TV tray in front of the TV, hit PLAY and enjoyed ANOTHER Green Mountain Metal Detecting hunt up into the wilderness with my big breakfast. What a great way to start the day. Phenomenal finds as usual, especially those two British Coppers, then the Big Shoe buckle was very very cool (won't find those here in Tampa Bay, Florida) THEN you get that incredible Revolutionary War British infantry buckle, just way too cool!!! Catching up on a LOT of YT metal detecting videos as not cleared to detect yet from the doc. TC HH You and Eddie have a blast tomorrow!!! Diggin' Florida w/ Rob!
That's what my mom called them when we were little kids-made to dip your toast into!!!! of course, so I've just kept calling them that! Glad it put a smile on your face and you can let your wife know you're not alone!!!! lol Rob
Gotta love a Friday GMMD video! I have Friday's off of work and usually start my day working on my 1966 Beetle. I then take a break and turn on this weeks GMMD video. What a relaxing time seeing you find such great finds! I wish Canada had the history as yours - or maybe not - but it sure would make metal detecting a heck of a lot more interesting. :)
Great finds! And well done on the video . Very enjoyable to watch and the video and audio quality are excellent. Those are the kind of hunt spots we all dream about.
You're gonna have to go back and change the title to your "I'm never going to top this" video. LOL. Congratulations on the incredible Rev War find! Super happy for you.
Hey there JD. Fancy seeing you over here on GMMD. You two guys get a lot of my time. You don't know me but I've been on many excursions with you both. When all the insanity of the world begins to overload my brain and kill my soul, I frequently take a stroll in nature with one of you guys and enjoy discovering the mysteries of a simpler time. You were the first metal detecting guy I have followed and You and Brad are my two all time favorites. See ya around and God bless you both!
WOW Brad! What a honeyhole. I’d take a few weeks off, set up a camp and hit that place like it was leaving! Awesome finds. The buckle is the find of a lifetime for most of us! You are the Man. The best M.D. channel on RUclips
So very Awesome ! While you were digging up the 1775..., I said to myself, wow what amazing soil ! This was a great hunt and so happy for you ! Thanks for sharing !
Your videos are most enjoyable . No blibbiddy-blab about settings, no loud screams from your machine, no digging plugs. The scenery is gorgeous! I even liked the inch worm and white ghost flower. You found some really great stuff today.
That's one sweet hunt! Great old coins and great old relics. and a sweet thunderstorm as a bonus. It was a pleasure to meet you at the New England Treasure Show yesterday. Thanks for the T-shirt. Be safe and Hunt Happy!
It looks so beautiful there in the mountains, salubrious surroundings. Love the history you are uncovering, enjoying coming along for the ride on a rainy, sleepless dawn in South Australia.
If I could give this 1000 likes I would. Wow what an amazing epic find. That would be #1 on my finds list of all time. Revolutionary war. Holy cow. Im am so happy for you. That site has been the best sight Ive ever seen. Many many congrats!! HH

Wow! Im blown away by the buckle. What a piece of history. The coins and shoe buckle are nice as well. Awesome hunt and big congrats. Thank you for sharing and Hh
I forgot to mention that your video’s bring back such memories. My Grandparents lived in Wallingford for 30 years and we went up every summer. We always went hiking in the mountains.
Grabbed my first cup of coffee and sat back to enjoy. I've wondered if you also do photography since you seem to have the knack for perfect shots. Congrats on the belt buckle. Beautiful find.
Wow Brad, what an awesome hunt. That spot is definitely hiding some great treasures. Hope you can hit it again before winter. I'm so happy for you! Take care, GL and HH.
wow GM that 53 buckle is absolutely amazing...just think... about 250 plus years ago some soldier was walking through those woods with that buckle on his waist during the war for our Independence!! completely Mind Blown what a great day thanks for sharing GL&HH!!
Wow Brad! A true bucket lister! Id be jumping for joy finding a civil war buckle. But a 53rd! On top of the coins in one hunt is phenomenal! Really happy for you! Thanks for getting that on video.

Amazing! That was worth the wait. I can't wait for you to go back to that site. I'm sure there were many green diggers watching this morning 😄. Great video sir.
Another exciting adventure, Brad! Your discoveries are incredible -- the coins, shoe buckle, buttons, spur and the topper was the Revolutionary War buckle! What a find! Can only imagine how you felt once your research gave you the answer as to what it was. Just incredible. There are times, when watching your videos, i wish Vermont was so far away -- also it'd be nice to be a few years younger! Anyway, congratulations on another excellent video -- everything about your travels is simply amazing. Look forward to the next chapter. Enjoy the weekend!

Brad, excellent job, coins, ghost flowers, spur and "the buckle "....too cool...congrats.
That plate is probably the best thing you have ever found. Major congrats my friend
That is a waist belt plate from a soldier in the 53rd Regiment of Foot, mustered in 1755. Very cool find sir.
Congratulations! It makes me so happy when relics of such importance are found by folks who genuinely appreciate them for what they are, but more importantly, where they came from. Thanks for documenting your hunt and sharing it with us!

Your filming is spectacular, thank you☮️🇨🇦
Your excitement just radiates from the screen, it is so refreshing to see! That revolutionary buckle is spectacular. Great cinematography as always!

It's a spur
Speaking as a father of more than a few sons, the scenario goes like this , father asks son's "did any of you see my axe?" They all shake
