    Brad,
    Everyone talks about the finds, yes their great. I want to talk about your cinematography skills! You shoot the most awesome videos I have ever seen. You show the crazy, the odd and the beauty of the woods! I have no clue if you are trained in this area or you just have the knack of seeing the beauty there! Great job!

    Hey this is great, not only the detecting but the Quarry and the sap lines and the info about the maple tree bugs. Never occurred to me that a quarry could be anything other than a deep hole with stone walls and a swimming hole at the bottom. Hopefully you and Joel can get out again and maybe show us those cemeteries.

    Awesome video!! Very neat to have a family member from the ownership family with you!! Being that I'm a born and raised Okie, I had never been East of the big river into Yankie land. My Sister-in-law moved to the Upper peninsula of Michigan and has been there so long she is now a "Yupper" anyway, She sent back a bottle of real Maple syrup. Oh my goodness!!! I guess I have to admit good things do come from East of the Mississippi! Lol!! Vermont is on my bucket list!! I'll get up there one day!!! Thanks for taking us with you!!

    • @GMMD
      @GMMD  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Sue! The Sap lines are inserted in maple trees and all terminate at the bottom of the mountain in large tanks. The sap is then boiled to create maple syrup, a sugary condiment typically eaten on pancakes!

    I always found it more fun when you have someone all with you. Not only do they find things you may not of and you get to share in the joy of them finding things, but they get to enjoy seeing the things you find. It always great to share those moments in time with some else right there with you...
    I at this time in life can no longer get down on the ground or dig a hole. But I can swing my detector and walk with my cane or walker. So I asked my wife to just go out with me to dig up the treasures I find. She said maybe, well that was last spring. I asked her one nice day if we could just go out in our side field to see what we could find. She said maybe... I never asked again because I know the answer she told me twice already and I know after 40 years of marriage never make her tell me three times no way no how all hell breaks loose if she has to tell me something three times... Well so it's still maybe for now maybe = NO or not now... LOL...
    My day is coming when I'll be physically able to do these type of things me self again.... Be blessed my friend... BBE..

    Thank you Brad for sharing your beautiful state with all of us. And the finds - wow. I was also amazed with the syrup lines - Sap gathering sure has changed over the years! Your draped bust 1807 - any more info on that coin? 7 over 6, small or large fraction, comet maybe? The last year for the draped bust and lots of special coins that year. Great channel Brad, keep up the great Autumn work. Chuck in NE Kansas

      Thanks so much Chuck! Joel kept all the finds on this hunt so I can't say for sure the variety of the draped bust, a great find for sure!

    Sapline is a new one to me. Was sitting here watching and wondering about them. As soon as you said "maple", the penny dropped!... I'm just a simple Kiwi boy from downunder.... no saplines down here! Cool to see them and get an understanding..... Oh, and some awesome finds by the way too.

    Hey Brad, excellent hunt! Love the triple-gilt button and the draped bust. BTW, the Mennen bottle is likely aftershave (they still make it), probably 30s-50s. HH

      Thanks Charlie! Mennen was also aftershave, but this particular bottle was Lanolin Baby Oil

    What a great day you guys had! Why not keep the leather from the toetaps? Its amazing when you find a button with the thread still attached.. anyway, nice views of the woods and the walls. Ty and HH!
