@@davidvincI’ll try as you know I have all from 1980-Now it’s tough to intrigue me when I have it all hopefully I get there safe from NY can’t wait for more videos from you as well
Hey guys. Just caught up with all of your recent videos. Congratulations on all your finds. 😀 Nothing is more sweeter then coming closer to the end of your search. Looking forward to your future videos as always!
Want to thank you guys for the videos and welcoming stranger into your adventures-I really, really appreciate what you all do. It's Mort's fault, All Hail Lord Sluggo @mortsgarage, that I discovered you two, seemingly, amazing people and I'm thankful for it. Even on a meh day you can bring a slight crack of a smile to my face. Keep it up. Sub'd/Liked. Edit: Also thanks for the lead on David!
You guys got to game hunt with David? FUN! The Twilight Princess manga was incredibly well recieved, for what it's worth. I'm not big into LoZ or manga, so I can't expound on why, but it is worth noting. I didn't particularly enjoy playing Knights in the Nightmare, but the art and sound design were fantastic! Good pick from David. Seeing the dude pull down the FF box was the first time I got the proper sense of scale on it; quite chonky indeed!
I am still so glad I found y'all through RUclips recommendations. Really love watching your videos (even the old ones!). That GameGear section was amazing. I would love to have Columns CIB because that was the one I played so much back in the day. Well, that and MK1 lol.
Cool stores, sweet retro games, awesome collectables...yeah, yeah, yeah... More importantly, David was rocking that Sugar Daddy shirt and I love Elisa's glasses!
Woah! Those displays. I have a big plastic poster for final fantasy that matches that big box display! 😮 I love all of the awesome displays like that. Nice scores!
I have every console and RPG from 1980-Now as well as tons of other games what a life of gaming throughout the decades I’m from NY heading to Retro City Games 11th-15th
Man, I still have my crystal warriors cart from when I was a kid. Kept me occupied on so many road trips lol. And speaking of road trips, I've been planning to check out some retro stores in Vegas, one of these days I gotta take a day and head up!
ah yes another piece of expensive cardboard nice also that code of princess game looks interesting might have to look into that for my collection myself but im still personally looking for the arc the lad collection for ps1 but i may just buy on ps3 since then it wont be what? 150-200ish?
The Retro City Games stores are amazing. I would absolutely consider next year, making the trip to Vegas after SoCalGamingExpo (and get the gorgeous drive through the desert as a bonus)!
Great pick ups! I'm super excited for Rick's event. I think there will be a lot of great content from it. You and Dallas at the same event on a vid? We haven't seen this since the Phoenix days. ☝️💪🙌
Hey! Your buddy got Lufia 2 boxed for SNES! Good choice! Do you remember how much it was? I ended up paying a bit too much for a copy of Lufia 2 with a really beat up manual, but it DID have the original map with it too, also very beat up. No box tho. Paid $150. Worth it for one of my favs on the SNES!
I never seen that DS tape measure before. Such an oddball thing i went on eBay and bought one. I tried googling it but can’t really find anything about it, wonder what the history of it is. I love all things ds and 3ds
Phantasy star 2 I got at a flea market back in the 90's and it came with a small guide, haven't seen one since . He's right 2 and 4 are good , 4 I still have my box for it . Don't see much of the 7th saga. Like that you guys play your games
That's so odd. I was just talking about Lost Magic the other day with a friend and you came across Takt of Magic in this video. If you're not yet aware it's a spiritual successor to the DS game Lost Magic. It has similar gameplay and has never been released outside of Japan. I do believe there are translation patches of it released now! Sorry if you're aware of all of this post video ☺
3:08 Holy crap a store that has Growl!!! It's been looking for that game for so long that I have to periodically check to make sure a North American copy exists or if I just imagined it.
That thing near the maracas is where the samba de amigo pad goes ,and it's also where the thing in front of you the controllers aka the maracas come out from
Funny enough I was at Retro City maybe like last month or so and saw that they had both Exiles. I am guessing where the empty space was for exile 1 because I remember seeing it there(unless it was in the glass case). I am glad you guys were able to get 1/2 since the first one is a bit easier to find than the sequel in terms of turbografx cd
A friend of mine has a Working Designs game you might want. You already have Elemental Gearbolt, but he's one of the 30 or so people with the "Assassin's Case" version of it, that came in a metal case with the game, golden Guncon and a golden memory card. He used to work at WD back in the day, so that's how he has it.
@@JRPGLife I have never seen one in person. He just kind of casually mentioned it to me, and I immediately offered him money for it, lol. Sadly, he turned it down.
@jrpglife awesome pick ups! did you guys end up purchasing the controller pak with the daiei hawks logo on it? I have the console and would love to have that pak!
Shadowrun for Genesis is great! I liked the SNES version too, just not as much. It's more linear. Dune: Battle for Arakkis is also great on Sega. I remember someone saying that it used the Herzog Zwei engine.
once thought of goin for a complete working designs set myself but the prices are just insane lol on a side note Magic knight rayearth has a new anime project in the works
With samba de amigo. That is like a sensor bar, you plug the maracas into it and you have to hold the maracas at different heights and shake to hit the notes
I have some weird Working Designs stuff. At E3 I think maybe... 2000? The had a King Borgan in a mascot costume you could get your picture taken with, and it had of course a special ornate cardboard frame for the polaroid. I have one of those, which has to be one of the weirder pieces of WD ephemera I've come across. I used to have some Lunar 2 counter top standees from FuncoLand, But I finally sold them a few years ago. They made a lot of interesting oddities.
I gotta ask bc I have never seen anyone have this, but do you guys have the unofficial strategy guide for Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete? It has very crude hand drawn maps, but was an okay guide for my playthrough, lol.
Ugh....I had Exile, Exile 2 and Lunar 2 (Sega CD) but sold them 10 years ago along with Shining Force 3 (Saturn) a Turbo Duo system and more. I used to work at EB back in the mid 90s and Exile and Exile 2 just sat on the shelves....finally just picked them up them both for $9.99 each because the covers were so cool, especially 2. I almost threw up when I checked Price Charting a month ago to see what it was all going for now!!
As a big jrpg fan I will say old sports games arnt that bad. They are cheap but also... I was a kid in the 90s, so when I put on an old fifa or nhl I suddenly get to remember the stars I looked up to as a kid. Heroes I had forgot with time players we never get to see on TV again, we get to play as etc. It´s not only nostalgic playing these games, its like re-visiting a historical era in sports. Also, if you just miss a couple of games in the shelf to fill it out, cheap sports games are the perfect way - great way until you find better games.
The N64 was a odd time for me as well. I only played a couple of games for it (5 or 6) because I disliked the options of games. I had the same issue with GameCube as well. My favorite game was Smash Bros on n64.
Hey, why not try to haggle a bit on the box?? Considering you were buying all the other stuff, I would've been like "200 bux! On top of the other stuff!". It never hurts to try!

I think it was $80 for box , manual, and map.
Speaking of Working Design, I wonder what's become of Gaijinworks and Vic Ireland.
I think WD published 29 games. I have 21 of them. Missing all the TG-16 and some of the miscellaneous titles. I have all the good ones. Great video!
