    Hard rock titans collide for THE END machine, a brand-new project that features classic-era DOKKEN members George Lynch, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown as well as current WARRANT singer Robert Mason.
    Surely, some fans may be wondering to themselves, isn’t this just Dokken without Don Dokken? “Musically, of course there's bound to be moments that will be reminiscent of Dokken. That's only logical,” says bassist Jeff Pilson. “But, my guess is there will be less of that than people would expect. Some people who've heard it say they think it's closer to Lynch Mob than Dokken, but really it is pretty much it’s own thing. We allowed ourselves to get a little deeper than either of those projects really have, while still staying extremely melodic and not being afraid of good old-fashioned guitar rock. Maybe Lynch Mob, a bit of Dokken, but then some 70's guitar rock added in. George [Lynch] is playing fantastic on this…very inspired. Everyone is really, but George covers some new territory here and it's very cool. Plus, the songs as compositions took on their own life, especially adding Robert [Mason] to the writing. That's what I'm most proud of, is the way this stands on its own. It doesn't step on our legacy together one bit, but it has it’s own personality and I think that's important.”
    “This is decidedly not me ‘stapled’ onto a DOKKEN record,” adds Mason. “I wouldn't have been involved if that was the intent. Fans will hear bits of our styles in this collection of songs, and while reminiscent signatures are undeniable, THE END machine was purposely built to stand apart and on it’s own merit.”

      It's mick brown drumming from Dokken, Jeff Wilson playing bass from Dokken and lynch mob, and Roger Mason from the 2nd LP Lynch Mob, and of course George Lynch. George basically changed the name because of political correct reasons so it's basically lynch mob. I really can't tell if it's mick brown on drums or Jimmy D'Anda. We all get old and change looks lol

    Really diggin this, I am. So stoked to see George ,Mick and Jeff playing together again. And Robert? Nothing can ever be said bad about his Vox. But there is something about the composition to these tracks that are leaving me questioning. It just doesn't seem organic as if they were bits and slices of pieces and put together. I am not sure how the recording process went but I can almost bet you they weren't all in the same room together. And if that is the case, it shows

    Sounds pretty good. Lynch is not ever going to be the player he once was and thats weird to realize. He was my guitar God of the 80s and into mid 90s. I keep hoping for old/young Lynch to emerge and it just isnt going to happen. He is still a good guitarist , not saying he isnt. But I miss what he was. Robert Mason is a great singer, still!

      You took the words right out of my mouth.....his ''guitar tone'' changed and is to never return. His leads sound sick, but that rhythm tone is just lame as hell. This is just a good lynch mob record. imo. I miss the ''slick metallic tone'' he had in Dokken.

      I understand what you guys are saying, Dokken was my favorite band of the 80s, but remember while George was the guitar player, Don had a lot to do with the sound back then, unfortunately that band was a perfect band that just couldn't get along, I always hoped around 2000 they would get back together and really do the proper follow up to Back for the Attack with this line up, however Don keeps saying the new Dokken is gonna be classic sounding and Jon Levin is great, by the way this song here is good just not classic Dokken good

    • @mjs805
      @mjs805 5 лет назад

      @@kamikazekrush3758 Don can promise whatever he wants, but unless he has a miracle recovery, his voice is shot and he can never make music that sounds like classic Dokken again. Don's amazing voice was a big part of that classic sound. The guitar sound may be there but without Don hitting those high notes, it can't be the same. Sad but true.

      Spot on!! This may be my favorite of the 3 so far but the solos lack his former architecture. Like they are all just overly self indulgent improv's without concern for melody in the context of the song.

    • @johnhawkins3102

      I can’t even begin to agree with this. George has evolved sooooo much over the years to play so many different styles of guitar it isn’t even funny. And if he was still playing Foken Stuff everyone would saying he’s a “ one trick pony”. Guy plays in at least 5-6 different bands at once, all different. Go see him live and say he still can’t play. And his Tome is just fine by me.
