Miami is a big enough city where it should at least be up there with the Houstons, San Franciscos, and other 2nd-tier MLB cities but since they keeping doing stuff like this they have never cultivated a fan base and continue to decimate the one they already had.
Every year, every single team submits a budget proposal to MLB's commissioner's office for approval. That Manfred says he didn't know what payroll would be is as blatant a lie as you'll ever hear. It is literally his JOB to know this
I live in Miami and you know how pathetic things got? They literally give tickets away for free to the older fans and the stadium is still always empty.
How I see it Miami is right down there with Tampa, Oakland Seattle etc... The difference between Tampa and the rest is that they try to keep themselves afloat. Those teams fill the stands as much as they can because they have at least 2-3 big name guys.
ugh my A's need to stop with the money ball crap, it clearly does not work he got lucky and had a good run , now the athletics have promoted bean and gave his old job to billy beans protege, meaning we have to suffer many more years
Marlin fans, just protest. Dont buy any gear or go to the games. The team will eventually go bankrupt as it should, and Im a Marlins fan. Its time to call it quits I think
Big Foot hey bro do you want a team? I get it.. but out here in seattle.. we would do crazy things to have the REAL Seattle Sonics back.. are you done with the Marlins for good?
A few years back, there was a team going through an ownership change. At the team, they completely dismantled the existing roster, slashed payroll, and had several years where they were 1 of the worst teams in baseball. That team is the Houston Astros. How'd that work out for them?
Houston didn't give the leagues reigning mvp up for little to nothing. Pretty the ownership for those Houston teams weren't broke. Correct me if I'm wrong, don't really fallow baseball like that. Just a casual follower
They sure did. Then they came back and won another World Series. Since they started in 1993, the Braves have won 1 World Series. The Phillies have won 1. The Mets and Nationals have each won 0. The Marlins have won 2. If they're being run to fail, they're not doing a very good job of failing!
Quaker2001 they dismantled two world championship teams, traded Cabrera, blew up the 2012 team after half a year and traded all our best players this year. How are we not run to fail when we destroy any good team we have?
The players agents and team attorneys under the auspices of the mlboa which every professional pitching and swinging motion coach impostor/imposter may not sign away the baseball players right to the Federal Trade Commission Safety Protections by using injury to end players career to the average of 5.6 years.Mike Marshall and Andy Messersmith have a better solution. Not these teams owners who's physicians use illegal steroids which dissolve a human bony to gelatin. You guys up above in this video know nothing of a what the players be they swinger or chumpo throwers are being forced to throw fast breaking pitch that killed Cy Young and Babe Ruths throwing elbows and basically stymied their careers like they learned by destroying them with motions of when used as they were forced to use created in them a lifetime disability.

100% agree
The Heat is a big market team, the marlins just have cheap owners.
Miami has a horrible sports fan base in general.
and its proved that he, the commissioner, is a liar..

400 million dollars in debt 400 and nobody saw it coming

Manfred what a joke.
Professional American sports don't have tiers. This isn't European football.
