- Today I take the BT Cruiser Class B RV back to the welding shop to install a CUSTOM built front receiver hitch so I can carry my honda scooter or motorcycle on FRONT of my Ford RV when camping or traveling.
Get your Campervan Kevin stickers on my RUclips Homepage link
Perfect question about hitch load capacity and almost invisible front receiver, but… no power coated or even prime/paint😚

Very nice work.
Looks great! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Woof Pack.
96 Rock tag on the front. Use to be a good station back in the day.
Happy Thanksgiving Kevin and Wolf pack Felix and Foxy Lady.
Will pass it along. Happy Thanksgiving to u too!
looks good Kev!
happy thanksforgiving to you!
Thanks! Happy Thanksforgiving to you too!
Two hundred is a good deal. That is top quality work. Store bought would not be as good.
Store bought would have been bolted too. Not for me.
The peace of mind is just so valuable. You can focus on driving instead of wondering if that thing is going break off.
Happy Thanksgiving
thank you! You too!
Wishing you and the woof pack, Felix and foxy a happy thanksgiving 😀👍😀👍
Will pass it on to Felix! Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! CVK
Happy Thanksgiving to you and the woof pack.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! CVK
You need a kymco 500xciting on that rack
new video soon, I will show u what goes on it
some nice welds there, very good metal work,
pros
great
thanks!
SWEET!!
DUDE!!!
Great video and idea! Excited to see how it works out with the scooter. I actually have been kicking the same idea around for a while now. My RV came with a hitch on the front from the previous owner and would be pretty handy to have a small 49cc moped. Probably couldn't see with a bigger bike on the front of my rig haha! Can't wait to see how it works, thanks for sharing. Oh and happy TG to you and the pack!
video shot and uploaded now. have to edit it. so it will be out soon
Nice Kevin.
getting there!
good idea.
hope so!
Thanks for sharing Kevin, I hope you and the woof pack have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! Thanks for watching!
CVK do you worry about that kind of weight in front of your camper with the scooter in the front
no tan campervans bumper was so heavy it took a forklift to install. I had some heavy weight on it with no problems.
Nice vid.
Love that cat at the welding shop.
video suggestion at end of video shows when I had rear platform put on. more in depth meeting of shop cat there
awesome shop! cool shop cat, and nice hitch ! happy thanksgiving! peace!
the video featured in end of video shows the first meeting on youtube with him
Campervan Kevin cool!
Hey Kev. Look's fantastic. Hope you back is holding out I deal with chronic pain everyday but some days are better than others
having some good days right now. Thank goodness.
He is a talented fabricator! Nice addition to the camper.
Those front hitches are handy dandy.
You are lucky that you have a shop that you trust because there are so many that overcharge and are incompetent. I get stressed whenever I need to repair my vehicle. Nice job Kevin!
I remember when Wesley was a young teenager in his Dad's shop. He has now taken it over. He is a true craftsman that learned from a master welder/fabricator. I have been using this shop well over 25 years.
Hi Kevin, I missed the video of when you got rid of the Big Foot, why did you get rid of it?
too big for my needs. I felt like it had wasted space as well.
I'm sure you know this but make sure you paint it so it doesn't rust. I go to a welder local hear that charges me $10 dollars and hour plus material cost I have no idea how his company survives doing it at that rate but somehow he does. The funny part is I know how to weld and have a welder but I will pay someone $10 an hour all day long so I don't have to hassle with it.
yep I painted it next day
Good price and what a nice cat there to oversee the work.
Have another video where rear rack is built/installed A little more about "ShopCat" there.
great video happy thanksgiving :) kevin be safe
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
You seem to spend a lot of money on your vehicles and then always end up selling them. Do you ever keep any more than a few years?
I kept a blue 82 Econoline Club Wagon over 15 years. I'd still own the Black Campervan, but let it go at over 17 years. I have owned my very first motorcycle a 1981 Honda CX500 since I was 15... so that is 31 years........
Around here you would of paid at least $500.00 and it would of not been custom. they would of pulled a ready made receiver off the shelf and made it fit... I miss living in the sticks of Missouri where people ain't out to take your last dime,,,
but for now until my wife retires I'm still stuck here in Wisconsin... ( that's what I get for marring a younger lady) ... LOL
Don't get me wrong it's beautiful here about 5 months out of the year.... BUT 80% of the people are rude and only care about themselves and want everything for nothing... They want you to give them money but their not willing to do any hard work for it...
I know there's them type of people everywhere you go now days but there just seems to be a lot more around here in S/E Wisconsin....
I guess that's why shops what few that are still around here charge so much and give you so little...
It wasn't like that back in the 60's and 70's around here... Things sure have changed everywhere, Just it changed for the worst around here... I've been stuck here since 1978 and tried many times to leave but it just wasn't meant to be...
I retired back in 2009... still stuck here my wife has to take care of her mother :0(
We have a saying in the South. We say nobody retires and moves North! We have some yankees down here that are hard to deal with sometimes. Course we have some good ole southern boys that try u too.
yepper!!!!
Great idea.. plus you can add a ball and use it to spot a camper / small trailer or launch a boat much easier.
exactly! I have seen boats launched that way several times.
Campervan Kevin hmmmm ... Camperboat Kevin ... doesn't have the same ring. have a great holiday ... just another workday in Canada.
boats are really not my thing. never felt easy on them or around them. never know!
Wow 200.00! in Canada that would be a least 400.00 or more being custom built great workmanship
That was a lot of work and a lot of metal for $200. Is that pricing for a friend, or can anybody walk in there and get the same deal?
I have done business with that shop over 25 years. I spend several thousand a year there to build custom equipment and keep it on the road.
Great video as always. ~Happy Thanksgiving to you and your pack ~
Hi Kevin. Happy turkey day! I love your RV. Changing the fuel filter is always one of my Big Bang for buck items. The other one is getting your front wheel bearings repacked. Cheap and helps reduce vibration. It's a real no brained. Good luck?
yep, I had recently did Bigfoot before I sold and was thinking it was the BT but wasn't. yep I repacked front bearings with front brake job. thanks!
Happy Thanksgiving Kevin!!!!!
Thanks Mr Tim! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
That is what I called innovative Kevin! It's good to know a metalsmith, Great Job!
He was taught by his father. He grew up welding on my trailers/equipment. He is one of the best around.
Great accessory, good price! Can't wait to hear how the rig travels with front end load. Thanks for sharing the project! 👍
And in a pinch, you could even tow a trailer. (Depending on how good you are with your mirrors, of course.)
I know people who move boats and other trailers around their work yards with front tow bumpers.
