Nice one. Next jasp version 0.19 in some weeks will make recoding very easy. Atm if you read the how to via the blue !-button in the compute column view you can figure out how to manipulate data right now. Also Missing Value handling will be much better in 0.19 - like importing missings from SPSS savs. The download file size will however get bigger until JASP gets its module store like jamovi (which is planned) so that not all modules are included out of the box. You are also right, that jamovi is a JASP fork that started about 2 years later to focus on exactly that module store and ease of developement for external developers while JASP focus was on bayesian stuff. But all that is changing and JASP as jamovi seem to converge in many areas right now as they try to catch up to each other - which is healthy competition at its best of course :D

Thanks and sorry for the long delay as I didn't realize comments were being held! I'll have to delete and re-create this video to incorporate the changes, though [sigh] since I can't update a video as far as I know. I see 19 isn't out yet, so I guess I'll leave this up for a bit. I'll update the web site.

@@motalesdave I would not bother deleting old videos. Things change constantly, no one can keep up with that :D. But making new ones is always nice! 0.19 is still in beta yes. There were some last minute decisions to get some more features in, so it will need another month or two I guess.

Thanks - RUclips's hiding your reply to my reply for some reason, but I'll do a 0.19 video later on. Someday I need to learn how to use R syntax; I use SPSS mainly with syntax, but then again, JASP and Jamovi have a much faster interface and avoid SPSS' clunky sub menus. I kinda miss SPSS 4 for the Mac! But I like having the spreadsheet view. Left to my own I'd keep using SPSS 20 in virtualization just because “I know it so well,” but it amazes me how good JASP and Jamovi are. (Not to mention how FAST they are!).
