I used Max C. I had 13 cards+1 draw. Managed to break the board. Could not otk. They kept me in check for 3 turns. Took my monster. I lost. Needed multiple of my Handtraps turn one. How do you win?
Even if you break their board, even if their hand is empty. If you cant OTK them THAT turn. They can comeback to full board again from a single search or a drytron monster. The deck is busted and dumb as hell.

TBH, they a hundred percent should just make more solo campaigns for high power meta decks like this. It gives people a chance to play around with the deck without crafting anything.
The point of this solo campaign is to make us familiar with the deck it seems. They don't even try to make the AI understand the combo and just T passing every turn.

Except heralds were never a competitive deck before Drytrons, hence why most of their cards give you a plus one to compensate the big investment you had to originally pay for and still have some materials to use as negate.

Play Drytrons. Win coin flip play, lose coin flip close app. Easy climb to plat 1. Hardly seen opponents play. If I don't check their decklist, I often don't know what they played, neither was I bothered. Yup, that's fair and balance indeed.
Konami is just trolling us at this point. At least the last duel helps to understand drytron and what to negate. I was never going to build that deck but is good to see how to stop it.
I love drytrons... on paper. The jssue comes from herald just not being balanced around a Ritual spell as weird (and powerful) as meteonis drytron. Machine ritual is a concept i absolutely love along wirh these meteor carving robots, but the spell kinda has me wondering if we'll ever even GET another machine ritual deck and the existence of ultimate herald just makes the spell even more absurd. I'd honestly probably play drytrons otherwise though just for fun.
had a hilarious duel the other day, where some noob used herald to negate michion the timelords effect to shuffle itself back in the deck after a turn. Because michion can't be destroyed by card effects, but its active effect can be negated, you just get to keep it. Worst herald player I've ever seen, I enjoyed that win immensely.
Konami definitely put this in for people who play ranked and get joy out of negating their opponent, so that the AI could be like, “Yeah, how do you like being negated? Not as fun, now is it?”
ai doesnt activate diviner because its "worse" play, it ends up with 1 card less. If ai activates effect perfection negates and destroys, if it doesnt activate diviner stays on field
But it's opponent will send a card to negate, so the card economy should be neutral. I guess the AI is so bad that it only counts its own cards to determine whether a play is a plus or not lol
the AI is weird, when you play against the solo gate on ancient gears it has no problem at all going -4 to hard summon the boss monster with poly in hand, but then the other half of the time it will just normal summon one dude, play the field spell and pass. it seems to not really care too much about card economy, the yugi AI at the end of SP duels 1 will even hold onto disruptions until you've over committed. I think the AI for this gate is just uniquely bugged to not know how to play its deck, I got rekt over and over again by the solo gate for gem knights with the loaner deck.
i play a sort of meme based drytrons as i use it to start a nephythes engine with the 2000atk ritual monster witch summons a 3000 attack ritual monster from the deck or hand
Any deck that uses Selene in their Link climbs can make use of Droll, and cards like Maxx "C" and Crossout Designator make it acceptable to run high impact hand traps like this and Nibiru at 1-2. Retaliating "C" also screws over Dryton, and searches Maxx "C" if outed, OCG sometimes runs this as a tech option and the majority of JP matches are best of 1s.

I went thru the first 3 seasons using only pure zoo (blind 2nd , still best deck of the format) but I got bored of destroying the meta so I decided to use Drytron this season because I believe it is the most fair and balanced deck you can pilot . To the Dark Magician player who just flipped Skill Drain on me and then still almost lost as I stalled him for 9 turns, When you open the menu there is a big red "Surrender" button. If someone can stall 5 monsters with over 3000ATK for 9 turns using Synchrons - a deck that relies almost entirely on monster effects - whilst fighting into a Skill Drain then it is only courteous to press that button to at least recognise some level of ingenuity. Going first and flipping a flood gate isn't a difficult play, and surrendering isn't a difficult choice. Fool, I summoned a bigger monster than you were able to summon without any effects and you had to use a spell to get rid of it. Meanwhile you're using almost all of your turn timer reading the effects of cards that were printed in 2009. I've surrendered ranked games for less I just can't get over that. You almost lost to me, lmao
To the Drytron player that I faced immediately afterwards, Why are you in Silver IV??? I pressed duel to duel, not to lose a coin flip and deal with Herald of Ultimateness and Eva, linking summoning more on my turn than total actions I took before scooping. Omni-negates and flood gates are the highlight of my day, I swear :(
I too faced a Dark Magician deck with Skill Drain as a rank up match to Plat V. Used Accesscode to destroy Skill Drain and my opponent surrendered lmao

Drytron isn’t broken! Just always run play sets of Nib, ash, droplet, dark ruler no more, sphere mode, kaiju and adventure engine. That leaves just enough room for DPE and Scythe! What a cool interactive game with a diverse and healthy meta.
Solo mode should be for lowkey underrated archetypes to give attention to em not over played ones Watch them make a gate for tri brigade or eldlich next
Wouldn't archetypes with big stories work, too. Allies of Justice. Worms. Solemn brigade and Parshah vs Darklords. Heroes. Even Kaiju. Some of those could use a good buff, too.

One of the few reasons why casual players and competitive players need to be seperated and a BO3 being implemented so we have better idea on the meta. Aside from casual players not understanding when to handtrap, or complaining about rng, it feels much better to learn from other equal skilled opponents over dueling random decks that are built out of nostalgia.
After learning about the Heralds, i compelled if the deck is maybe not as bad as people thought. Like their combo isn't even the longest one. Pretty standard IMO. Six Samurai, Synchron deck can pull crazier, longer combo for instance. Then, I'm against one. My cute Dragonmaid vs Drytron. Foolish burial Eva, i activate ash blossom. I'm feeling a lot secure. Less material for negating. Eltanin, summon any lv1. XYZ to Beta Fafnir, okay I've seen that. Summon 2 more lv 1 Drytron. Ok stop there, I activate Nibiru. Wow, this may completely shut them. Normal summon Priestess of the Herald. Link summon union carrier, attach a 4k atk Drytron monster to it. Activate Meteonis Drytron. Jesus, it survived Ash and Nibiru. Luckily tho he decided to contest the Herald to my Drowning mirror force, with only one card at his/her hand. It can't negate then i assume it is not a fairy monster. Then he/she scooped.
I initially made Drytron Nekroz before knowing how stupid herald is with them, it’s a really fun deck if you just ban eva or the 2 heralds, was also a great deck in xyz event
after discovering simorgh + union carrier combo (apex avian + thunderbird hand loop), drytron feels balanced since you only need to kaiju the disco ball and use called by the grave on the orange juice it's harder to get rid of adamancipator's and virtual world's board now since baronne and stellar wind is here on top of their usual board

To the Dark Magician player who just flipped Skill Drain on me and then still almost lost as I stalled him for 9 turns,
When you open the menu there is a big red "Surrender" button. If someone can stall 5 monsters with over 3000ATK for 9 turns using Synchrons - a deck that relies almost entirely on monster effects - whilst fighting into a Skill Drain then it is only courteous to press that button to at least recognise some level of ingenuity. Going first and flipping a flood gate isn't a difficult play, and surrendering isn't a difficult choice. Fool, I summoned a bigger monster than you were able to summon without any effects and you had to use a spell to get rid of it. Meanwhile you're using almost all of your turn timer reading the effects of cards that were printed in 2009. I've surrendered ranked games for less

Why are you in Silver IV??? I pressed duel to duel, not to lose a coin flip and deal with Herald of Ultimateness and Eva, linking summoning more on my turn than total actions I took before scooping. Omni-negates and flood gates are the highlight of my day, I swear :(
I too faced a Dark Magician deck with Skill Drain as a rank up match to Plat V. Used Accesscode to destroy Skill Drain and my opponent surrendered lmao

Just always run play sets of Nib, ash, droplet, dark ruler no more, sphere mode, kaiju and adventure engine. That leaves just enough room for DPE and Scythe! What a cool interactive game with a diverse and healthy meta.

Wouldn't archetypes with big stories work, too. Allies of Justice. Worms. Solemn brigade and Parshah vs Darklords. Heroes. Even Kaiju. Some of those could use a good buff, too.

Said not one single person ever and only one guy down an alley who smoked too much crack and chased his own dragons, has ever said that heralds were balanced, and he'd never played yugioh before
One of the few reasons why casual players and competitive players need to be seperated and a BO3 being implemented so we have better idea on the meta. Aside from casual players not understanding when to handtrap, or complaining about rng, it feels much better to learn from other equal skilled opponents over dueling random decks that are built out of nostalgia.

After learning about the Heralds, i compelled if the deck is maybe not as bad as people thought. Like their combo isn't even the longest one. Pretty standard IMO. Six Samurai, Synchron deck can pull crazier, longer combo for instance.

after discovering simorgh + union carrier combo (apex avian + thunderbird hand loop), drytron feels balanced since you only need to kaiju the disco ball and use called by the grave on the orange juice
it's harder to get rid of adamancipator's and virtual world's board now since baronne and stellar wind is here on top of their usual board
the madlads really put in a drytron herald deck in their story mode so people can more easily copy the annoying deck...
