Glad you found the video useful, just trying to share information when I can with others. Would always recommend getting this replaced under warranty if you have the option so always worth investigating, if you can't like me this gives you another option to consider.
Had exact same issue on our 2021 Alpine 4. Our was cracked in at least 4 locations on the window and we were lucky that it was covered under warranty. Got rid of that caravan as were a number of other issues and traded in for a 2010 model Swift. I’d never touch a newly built caravan again. The older Swift seems to be of much better construction. After further digging it would appear that this window cracking is a common problem on these Swifts.
Yes, it does seem that way after looking into the issue, many people reporting the same thing. As with any caravan, it's all fun and games when it comes to maintaining them lol.
I have a swift as well they say £800 to £1000 to fit one, I believe the dealers cut it out as well to change one. Looks like you have done a good job looks well.
The main issue is these windows are under much pressure during travel, hitting holes in the road causing the caravan to jump about, and the other item such as stones and other items being flicked up by other road users, it's like a large target on the roof.
where abouts did you get the new pan roof from? im just about to purchase a swift 2014 and the pan roof is a bit iffy but the price of the caravan is brilliant so dont wanna miss out lol ill replace it myself :D
Hi, if you check the description/comments you will find all the info you need regarding supplier, items needed and costings, any other questions get back to me.
Hi, we got it from Tilshead Caravans, the cost was about £400 last year, it was the cheapest I could find it for. The items I used to install the new window can be found in the description.
Hi Dave, no, once I had cleaned all the old silicone off you could still see where it had been, it had discoloured the gel coat making it easy to reinstall, hope that helps.
Exact same thing happened on my 2014 Swift Elegance I got it replaced on my insurance but the repair shop made me wait a year because they told me the window had to be made for it abroad. Do you think they were telling me a porky to be honest if I had known it was that easy I would have done it myself if I knew where the windows come from..
Great Vid thanks, really helps to show whats behind the window black out. I'm trying to source a replacement to freight to Australia. Would you have the part number to make my search easier. Local cost here is around AU3K so around 400quid and freight should end up a little more economical.
Hi Richard, the part number I had on our paperwork was 1094769, we purchased the window from Tilshead Caravans, and at that time the cost was £365, hope this helps.
Great video, I need to do almost the same job myself, although my sunroof blew off so no need for the removal step. Can I ask where you managed to source the replacement window from? Thank you
Hi - thanks for putting together and thoughts on how this can happen as we were scratching our heads wondering if and when something may have hit us to cause the same. What was the foam used around the window edging? Thanks again
Hi Jamie, so when you purchase a replacement window this comes with it, it's a double-sided tape about 5mm x 5mm from what I can remember, it helps keep the window in place so you need to make sure it's all lined up before you go for it.
Hi, I purchased 6 but only used 5, and still had half a tube left over. When you remove the windows pay attention to the placement of the old silicone/form, and the amount. The silicone is thick, so another tip would be to ensure it's not cold or will be harder to spread when you install the window. Just remember you are trying to make a good seal and not apply all of the silicone, this is important or you are making it harder for yourself. If you have any other questions please come back to me.
Hi, we used Simson ISR 70-08 Black Adhesive 290ml which is needed to keep the window in place, a normal silicone wouldn't hold the window so make sure you get the correct item.
The same thing happened to my 2021 swift 580, this is a built in fault so I’m expecting it to happen again, Swift don’t seem to have answer to the problem.
As you say it does seem to be a common problem with Swift and to try and help they advise now to install a line of silicone across the top to help support the window. I think you just need to be as careful as you can when towing and avoid any potholes or anything that would cause the caravan to move suddenly which would put stress on the window etc. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back for you and thanks for supporting the channel 🙂
Hi, we got ours from Tilshead Caravans, tried about 6 different companies and they were the cheapest, and turned out to be the closest by luck lol. You would need to contact them as I'm not 100% sure they deliver so that might be the only problem but they are very helpful so give them a call, you'll be looking at about £400.
Very good video I wish some of the others video were as clear as yours, well done you.
Glad it gave you the information you needed and thanks for the support.
Excellent informative video. Thank you for sharing. Top class

Good clean up job - you sure bumped off that old sealant!
You have to do these things right lol

Thanks Paul, not sure why they charge so much for these.
Many thanks
No problem👍🏻
Great job, so glad my van doesn’t have a Pano window.

It would depend when it happened, if it was during Covid maybe, otherwise it should have been within 4 to 6 weeks tops.
Great Vid thanks, really helps to show whats behind the window black out.

"Swift" name miss. B&Q brush cleaner brilliant for removing silico e.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks Andy.
How much and where did you get window

What kind and size foam did you use
Hi, the foam comes with the window as part of the package, from what I can remember it's some like 8mm by 8mm.
Hi, can you tell me who supplied your window and a ball park cost please?
