Caravan Holiday To Parkdean Holywell Bay In Cornwall, Trips Out, Free Vouchers 🏖️ #caravan
G'day Jim. My names Glen and I live in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia. We own a 2016 Swift Explorer Australian version. Mate thanks for this great video. Like you we were holidaying a month ago when I got the E 6 error code, no hot water. I have secured a new combustion motor, just waiting on delivery. Your video has helped greatly. I've removed the old one tonight and hopefully the new one will arrive next week and will fix the problem. I've liked and subscribed to your channel, looking forward to learning mor tips, Cheers Mate.
Hi Glen, this is amazing news, and I hope this resolves the issue for you. It's mad to think our videos help different people worldwide, and not just here in the UK. Thanks for supporting the channel and don't forget to share with friends 🙂
@wobbleboxcrew Cheers Jim. New motor came yesterday. Fixed the issue and have hot water again. Thanks again Mate.
This was a very useful video. Having drainage issues with my shower and now I know what to do! Thanks 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
the plugs are FPlugs
Thanks for sharing.
🤦🏼♂️🤣
She really is a nightmare at times lol.
We do ours slightly differently. But like your process. Chairs look nice and comfy 😊
Glad you liked the video, feel free to let us know what changes you would make, as we are always interested in how others set up.
@@wobbleboxcrew after a few years of putting up our awning, I don't think we put it up the best way. I usually put up the inner poles last and I'm never happy with them. I'll be trying your technique of putting up the poles earlier in the set up
Great video. Just bought my 2nd caravan. All previous security has gone with the old one! Q - Are the steady locks good quality? What brand are they? Thanks 👍
I would say the majority are all the same just branded by different manufacturers, the ones we have are SAS, but these are the same amzn.to/3Vs50A4
Wow for such a small bit off kit it looks amazing especially that vacuum bag 😮
Would definitely recommend one, such a great product.
We have just got our first caravan so appreciate this
Sure, you'll love it, how are you getting on ?
Great video
Glad you liked it Jeremy, and thanks for supporting the channel.
What a great little invention, cant believe it does all them things in such a little device....ya right would make a great xmas present....great vlog mate
Thanks for the support 👍
I have the earlier model, which is small but powerful. A handy little thing to have and doesn't take much space. Good quality to.
Such a great device, as a said I wish I had one at the beginning of the year lol
I tow trailers for a living and these are great tips. However I would caution on leaving the trailer hitched up. Depending on the length and weight of a trailer/ caravan, you could place excessive force on the hitch plus exceed the capacity of the jack, if your starting to unload the suspension of the tow car.
Thanks for sharing.
To follow up as promised. It may be worth being aware that there is a repair service available on a well-known buying and selling platform with bay in its title. Search for "Truma Combi Combustion Fan Test'. They will diagnose a fan sent to them to confirm where the fault lies and repair with a one-year warranty. Total cost is about a third of buying a new part - which might appeal to some. We used this service and it was brilliant. The part was diagnosed, repaired and posted back the day it was received. In our case it was a failed diode on the circuit board - very common, apparently. The fan is now refitted and no more E 6 H. Thanks again for getting us on the way to success and avoiding a very expensive and possibly lengthy repair at a dealership.
Thanks for letting us know the outcome, glad it's all sorted.
Just to say a massive thanks for this video. It got me on the road to solving my problem - not least as it showed how easy it is to access and remove the combusion fan. I did not know about the small cover that just lifted up! I was anticipating the need to remove the whole boiler - beyond my comfort zone as I did not want to start disconnecting gas components. I know of only one other video on the internet (subsequently discovered) that helps in this way. Your video was found almost by accident and I nearly could not find it again when I wanted to write and say thank you. There are Truma "Combi 4" and "Combi 6" boilers and I think your video gets lost in the search for these. If you adjust the video title to make it more clear that it is about a "Code 6" error on Truma combi boilers, it will be found more easily for anyone searching for Code 6 issues: e.g. "E 6 H". My combustion fan is now out and hopefully being repaired. I hope to update again shortly with further information that may be useful to others.
I'm so glad our video gave you the information you needed to help resolve your issue. Thanks for the feedback regarding the title, we'll look into this. Fingers crossed that you fully resolve the issue you have.
Great top tips for towing , however a caravan, especially brand new, is an expensive asset and in the nearly 25 years of towing a caravan I’ve always had Tyron Bands fitted to all my vans and despite never being in the unfortunate position of having a puncture or a blow out, Tyron Bands give you that piece of mind, especially with the introduction of so called “Smart Motorways”, for you to be able to continue towing at very low speed and find a suitable parking area to be able to have the tyre changed by either you or a professional. Tyron Bands work by keeping the tyre from coming off the rim and causing the caravan to become uncontrollable and also cause expensive damage to the caravan wheel arch and wheel. A cheaper alternative at a couple of hundred pounds to what it could be if disaster strikes.👍
Something new for me, and thanks for sharing with the group 👍
What would you take out the van for winter storage? Hopefully weather permitting we will go away for 5 days will re cover the van and bring home the battery and put on a trickle charge adapter as well as put the wheels on a tyre lock to stop any “standing” damage for 3 months.
Don’t really take much out when it’s not being used otherwise I’ll probably forget to put it back in lol. Would definitely recommend some kind of solar solution to stop having to take the battery out.
Can’t believe this - we had this problem which kept saying error, bloody water pressure valve broke, water all over, 4th time caravanning ever and twice it has leaked - first time bathroom tap slowly leaked with out us knowing throughout the night 😮
You really need to keep an eye on any caravan, due to them being shaken about during travel always something to do 😂
So new to caravanning that I suppose we’ve been relatively lucky on CAMH sites that the all services pitches seem level anyway - never thought steadies went down last -always put ours down first!
We’ve all been there and every day is something to learn lol, we are no experts but want to share the formation when we can 😊
Only had our first 2nd hand caravan since July - 3 rainy weekends away so far and notice sink slow to drain. New sub here 👍
Loving the support, thanks.
just got back from here a few weeks back lovely place nice filming too 👍🏻
Thanks for the support Dave.
Looks good the touring section to the main entertainment area seems like a trek especially with kids
As you can see, it's located up on top of the hill so it does have great views. It's not as bad as you think as it does take you via the toilet block which helps if you had a few drinks down the main entertainment lol.
Good video but a Pity for me you didn't show the gas pipe connection work . I have one fitted but the plastic tap has failed so just need the internal bits not the plastic housing .
Are you not able to get the parts to repair the tape without removing altogether?
@@wobbleboxcrew yes I thought so but posted photos on a Facebook group and they told me I need to replace the whole thing ...I thought I could undo the large visible nut and put the new one back on the gas pipe?
Looks like it's cheaper to buy a completely new unit off eBay, couldn't find any parts to repair it only this which is more expensive. www.gasit.co.uk/1-way-8mm-inlet-8mm-outlet-tap-bbq-with-quick-connection.html
Keep Going You Are Doing a Good Job. thanks Andrew.
Thanks, will do!
I'm sorry but the second the bearing end cap came out with no resistance shows the outer race is too loose in the roller and the way it span round with noise indicates zero lubrication and to much play between the balls and the races. Bearings don't like being washed with rain especially zz ones (shielded) rather than 2RS ones (rubber seals) for the price of a couple of bearings they definitely needed changing while it's stripped down. Mine clicked and the bearing fell to bits. Poor design with hardly any water protection.
Thanks for sharing this information Paul, I'll keep that in mind now I know how to strip it down completely.
We’ve had quite a few holidays there in our campervan. Just a note tho West Bay is in Dorset.
I am always thinking or talking about many different sites, sometime hard to track everything going on in these videos lol
Have you ever had operation fault: connection error come up? I can't get to the bottom of it!
Hi Mike, sorry I haven’t, have you tried logging a call with Truma has they had great support, they should be able to advise why you are getting this fault or area to look at.
Hi, what silicone did you use? Just had our 2021 swift serviced and found damp under the bbq point so I'm going to have to replace it.
Sikaflex 522, best stuff to use on any external point.
Same issue as mine swift haven't solved the problem they just change the window...Same will happen to the replacement...they are not fit for purpose
It does seem to be that way John which is a real shame, most days I see a post with someone reporting the same problem ☹️
That place looks amazing there lots to things for all ages
Yes, a big site with lots to do, the only downside would be it gets very busy during the summer holidays.
Very clearly explained thank you
Glad it was helpful!
where abouts did you get the new pan roof from? im just about to purchase a swift 2014 and the pan roof is a bit iffy but the price of the caravan is brilliant so dont wanna miss out lol ill replace it myself :D
Hi, if you check the description/comments you will find all the info you need regarding supplier, items needed and costings, any other questions get back to me.
@@wobbleboxcrew theres nothing in the description about the new pan roof?
Hi, we got it from Tilshead Caravans, the cost was about £400 last year, it was the cheapest I could find it for. The items I used to install the new window can be found in the description.
Surely the gas feed to the external point should be after the regulator?
It is after the regulator or did you mean something else Wayne ?
Had a week there worst touring site we have visited in 40 yrs of touring. pitches were scruffy unkept there website for that site shows nice tarmac roads nice bays opposite each other false advertising. The touring park is up a massive hill the site goes up in stages almost impossible to reverse you caravan onto pitch. The showers are so outdated beyond belief. The laundry has two washing machines only one working told by a static van resident been out of order for weeks complained to reception falls on deaf ears. As for the entertainment you've never seen such load of rubbish. Restaurant is open to public with access to entertainment. The place is a tip.
So apart from that you had a good time Trevor lol, I know what you mean it could do with a refresh in multiple places. It's the only Parkdean site I know that allows anyone to walk off the street and use the facilities in the park. We found it a good base camp for trips out in the local area.
Happened to mine swift caravans are just rubbish check your rear panel at the top they all start to split there as well
This does seem to happen a lot looking at the forums, I’ll keep an eye out for the rear panel, thanks.
So - Ive adopted your way except to date not used a ramp. Been lucky I guess. However. Initially it’s great. But I found issues with the bathroom door being off centre after levelling. Why I wondered? Doh!! I have an internal water tank. My levels were always before I filled the tank. But after it was full the neutral position had of course moved. Dammit. Dunno if anyone else has that issue -😊 I d like to know though. So my plan next time is to get it as level as I can then fill and then re level. Interestingly when I have the van on the road outside the house it’s never a problem - so the weight and less stable ground does matter. I may just buy a milenco wheel rack (😅it’s got a proper name, so I don’t need to fuss moving onto a ramp. I do like your vids tho mate. Keep on doing them!
It's always fun and games when it comes to caravans, trial and error until you get to point which works for you lol. Glad you are liking the content and supporting the channel.
I had the same issue on my 2012 Conqueror.....i was in the South of France where i leave my caravan for 9 months of the year. Spoke with my insures Tower Gate who were fantastic. Agreed to cover the cost of the repair at a Swift Dealer near Bergerac. Its definitely a manufacturing fault. The silicon rubber seal that allows the glass to flex during movement becomes hard over time and this is what creates the cracking. The repair guy said that the silicon rubber seal has now been upgraded and no longer losses its flexibility. Total cost to have a new one fitted including all the silicon sundries glass and labour was £2.5k ......thanks Tower Gate Insurance.👍
It seems all fun and games with these windows lol, glad you got it sorted whilst away, great service.
Exact same thing happened on my 2014 Swift Elegance I got it replaced on my insurance but the repair shop made me wait a year because they told me the window had to be made for it abroad. Do you think they were telling me a porky to be honest if I had known it was that easy I would have done it myself if I knew where the windows come from..
It would depend when it happened, if it was during Covid maybe, otherwise it should have been within 4 to 6 weeks tops.
Keep going you are doing a good job
Thanks for the continued support Andrew 👍
great thank you
Perfik..... just as my wife Helen and I do it.
How timely for me. I have just bought the same model of caravan ( love it ) and was looking for a method of levelling on site. Many thanks.
Glad it will be of help, we love our van, enjoy the new adventures 👍
Think I saw your 'van in storage. The only reason I spotted it is because the trees separating the 'vans had been removed and you are almost opposite us. Obviously will not mention the storage.
Don’t think that’s our van, we have no trees near our storage place.
@@wobbleboxcrew Looks like someone else has the Wobble Box Crew decals on their 'van.
I have a teleco antenna and booster do you know if the V5 vision plus booster will be compatible with the teleco antenna?
Should be compatible with all as it’s just a booster, the aerial is looks the same but with a different badge on it, might be worth sending an email to the manufacturer to be sure.
Was told by teleco and vision wasn’t compatible but fitted it anyway and it works perfectly! Ps noticed my radio doesn’t have a coax going to the booster but it works again perfectly but no visible antenna? Strange ?
Is there a lift for anyone with disabilities to get up to the club
Hi Karen, the club nearest the beach is ground level so that one is fine, the other is on the second floor and believe it has a lift around the corner from the stairs but not able to confirm this 100%, I would give them a call to be sure.
Very good video I wish some of the others video were as clear as yours, well done you.
Glad it gave you the information you needed and thanks for the support.
Spray the little spring with some silicone spray gone
Thanks for the response Bob but it needed a little more than silicone spray this time round.
I have a swift as well they say £800 to £1000 to fit one, I believe the dealers cut it out as well to change one. Looks like you have done a good job looks well.
Thanks Paul, not sure why they charge so much for these.
I have just been quoted £1900 from dealer to replace ours
You really do need to shop around due to the price, if you are looking to get a third party to do the work you'll be looking at anything from £1500 to £2500 if completed under insurance, it will always be much cheaper to source the window and get someone to fit it but it just takes more time to get everything in place.
Do you have a smart alternator on your tow car ? If so how do you manage charging the battery from the car as I’m under the impression that a DC to DC charger might be required .
Hi Paul, no we don't have a smart alternator on our car so I don't believe this is an issue for us, however you would need some sort of charger if you did. I've used our new setup a couple of times now and don't really require this additional charger, we've been fine just using the solar as this does what we need.
"Swift" name miss. B&Q brush cleaner brilliant for removing silico e.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks Andy.
Great video, I need to do almost the same job myself, although my sunroof blew off so no need for the removal step. Can I ask where you managed to source the replacement window from? Thank you
Sorry, just read the other comments properly, I see you got it from Tilshead Caravans. Thanks again for the video!
Not a problem, if you have any other questions just come back to me.
