Full Flight: Spirit Airlines A321 Newark to Orlando (EWR-MCO)

- Hey guys! In this video, I try flying aboard Spirit Airlines once again down to Orlando, Florida from Newark, New Jersey on one of their A321s. The Newark-Orlando route is a pretty popular route naturally with 3 other airlines besides Spirit competing for passengers. During these coronavirus times, because of the competition, the prices really aren't that much different and so it's really interesting to see how Spirit stacks up to the others nowadays that the prices are so low. I think it's pretty obvious as you can see in the video that their onboard product and COVID safety precautions are very poor compared to other airlines. The boarding process is awful, so is the seat, the seatback contents like "pocket" below & "tray table", as well as the lack of service and nickle & dime for everything else. Don't get me wrong though, I think Spirit is a great option for people traveling on a budget, especially when the legacy airlines prices are so high...but on a route like this where there's 3 other carriers pricing around the same (Frontier, United, & JetBlue), Spirit just isn't worth it in my opinion. Go with JetBlue or United. Hope you guys enjoy!

Man, i can care less about all of these extra amenities that some folks are complaining about. Getting me to my destination safely is my #1 priority.
Amen...that is the most important.
Well I wanna go in style and not in a 2001 Honda Accord
@@phantomjosh2148 then dont fly spirit go fly jetblue or southwest

Spirit has some of the newest planes. And all airlines use older models due to how long they are good for and how expensive they are.
Spirit Airline was the worse customer service for my handicapped mother. She was the last person to get off the plane, waiting for a wheelchair . It was the last plane at LGA NY. All employees left and no one came. Only a volunteer who saw my mother still sitting inside the plane waiting. Thanks for that young man.
For what it’s worth, I flew for United Express and it’s the exact same way there. Airlines use contract companies to handle the wheelchairs, so it’s not a Spirit employee. Unfortunately, these contract companies usually don’t have adequate staffing and we are usually left waiting for them to arrive. I’d say 70% of the time on my United flights, we had wheelchair passengers waiting for chairs.
The airline does not provide the wheelchair service. The airport is responsible for that so don’t blame Spirit or any airline for that matter.
I appreciate you posting locations during the flight. It's like having a tour guide. Wish other YT trip reporters would do the same thing.
I hope to see my house someday because I live near an arrival route of my home airport.
Same I love your videos I watch them everyday
So nice to see some PHL vids in the future 😊 love what you do!!!!!
You did EWR justice man. You captured a lot. Gives me great nostalgia as that was my home airport
Thank you for taking the time to edit and upload wonderful videos. Your videos always make my day. It's official. I am your number 1 fan. As your number 1 fan, I am curious what your most enjoyable flight on Spirit airlines was?
Nice vid thanks for sharing👍 I had no idea MCO was getting a new terminal should be interesting to see in the future
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Cool Video. The Orlando Intl hotel area with all the palm trees and fountains in the airport has to be my favorite part of MCO.
I am just your #1 fan bc i like aviation so much! kepp up the good work man!
As always, a great video! I truly enjoy the scenes of the coast from the air and how you label the area so we know what is what. (I recognized the southern tip of Virginia's Eastern Shore, The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and Willoughby Spit over Norfolk before the labels appeared on screen. :) If the camera had zoomed out a little further I would have seen my house. I am fairly sure I saw my father's house down there somewhere over Ormond Beach. Thank you for all of your videos.
I love how it says “HOWDY” on the winglet :)
I have never been on a other airline other than southwest/American
How good is southwest? Do they have luggage tracker?
Awesome video much appreciate it. Flying spirit next week haven’t flew since a child. This helped Thank you
Love the vids man keep it up!
Howdy, awesome video and trip report as always TJG13! I at first thought it was a good value for ULCC prices, but then I saw it was that close to UA and it seems like a terrible value! Especially considering that allong with the super nice EWR C Gates, the exact same MCO experience, better hard product and service, you get a free snack, removing the 3 dollar muffin, making these flights the exact same price!😸😻😸
Im flying to Vegas with spirit from Newark so this video calmed my nerves a little bit so thank you!!
I wouldn't look at this as a vacation. I would see this as a challenge or a dare.
Agreed! The NUT JOBS travelling are endangering so many lives! Sick and sad!
@@chrismontalban5538 call me crazy but you must mean the pandemic. I don’t see anything wrong with getting point a to point b by flying also this person could be vaccinated and on the way to finally see someone. You should think before judging someone.
@@chrismontalban5538 Says the nut job himself lol
@@timbuktug3321 I'm agreeing w/TIMBU.
Great video! Never been on spirit airlines so nice to see what it looks like!
I been to spirit before, i like btw
Heyy really appreciate this great job
Dude you were awesome and so informative
Like your vids, well done and very informative..
Even with the noisy people talking on the plane, I believe that it is a kind of relief that all this pandemic crap is coming to an end! I miss talking to people in person, hugging them, laughing, and drinking booze. Life is becoming very dull. Nice video kiddo. Thanks for sharing...
Any chance you could consider the west? Albuquerque perhaps? I enjoyed that airport.
Great vid - love the insight you add.
Great report, spirit looks fun
Love your vids I love airplanes so much!!!!!!
Love your videos also love flying
Great Job Posting this video.
I been spirit before and i like it but my dad no, dont know about my or my brother. The taking off and the landing part was fun!
Thanks for sharing this video, much appreciated - A couple of questions: 1. What metrics or scientific study did you review to conclude "Spirit Airlines is the worst when it comes to safety?" 2. When you're travelling on a budget airline, you're getting a bargain price, with the expectations of little or no on board amenities, weren't you aware of it? Thanks to these budget airlines, people who cannot afford these overpriced airlines like Delta, United, American Airlines etc can travel
Great vídeo! Congrats!
Great video bro
I will be so looking forward to returning to one of my many favourite airports MCO another place for also excellent aviation photography and of course a big Disney fan for god knows how many years!
I’m basically about to do a similar flight New Orleans to Newark so this was actually really helpful to an extent. It’ll be my first time flying and I’m actually really nervous 😂
Nice video. Spirit is what Spirit is, ULCC. Watching this video reminded me of Wonderfully Ale, a Spirit FA RUclips blogger. I know you will occasionally encounter other trip bloggers. Do you ever get flights with any FA bloggers?
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I'm leaving for the same in near future, EWR-MCO. I'm an infrequent flyer and a historically nervous one as well. 😢 Wondering, how did you know all the cities, etc. along the coast? That was really cool. Is there some sort of existing app or do you just recognize them from flying often..?
Im going to MCO from Newark as well next week. Cant wait
it's awesome. i posted more above i love flying, but shorter flights under five hours, and the shortest was other day, we just literally got back using SPIRIT AGAIN, INCREDIBLE pilot always. no need being afraid, took only 2 and a 1/2 hours, from texas, so i love to fly. nothing like it. fast, convienient. love it.
Love watching your videos, man. Can you add timestamp in the vids, and also if possible the ticket price in the description?
I just came back from Orlando It’s Amazing nice Customer service
yep. no issue wit' spirit. loved it, short flights, i love the best, and with SOUTHWEST, spirit cheaper, usually. but, no issue, safe, and always happy when i flew with them, doing it again in few days.
Hey thank you for the video! Do you by any chance recall why those people were waiting by the exit with babies? We’re they waiting for their strollers ?
I’m traveling with my mother Julie Kostiak to Orlando, Florida by Southwest Airlines from AVP Airport. It’s a nonstop charter flight from AVP-MCO.
We can't ask too much for those prices on Spirit, it would be like asking filet mignon for $2 dollars.
i used to live in newark, NJ in 2012. it reminds me, when i was liv' in NJ.
I’m flying for the first time next month from Newark to Orlando, although I’m taking United, this video helped me feel more at ease about the whole process.
when are u flyin'out, because you tube helped me get over it, so come bck on line again prior to going, to feel even more relaxed, i did that, it helps lol yep. first x flying meg, was 33 months ago, just about a few yrs ago, now i m regularly an air flyer, loving it, safe pilot,
each time, literally. don't fly when all rainy out, nope. not me, blue skies/sunshine beaming, early morning, to mid morning only for me, loved it, on spirit few x now, we literally just got back another SHORT flight 2 and a 1/2 hours just gettin bck from tx., love flying united couple others, but use few x spirit, cheaper, no complaint, at all. adios.
I love your videos gives me hope that I will travel soon we all will
Lets hope so . !!
Very good video
Still fun to ride any plane and look outside
I can’t wait to try it next 2 month
Good video 😁👏
I’ve never seen the pilot help load the over head bins lmao
Those were his own bags...he was either commuting to work or home ... or the company is getting him in position for his next flight.
00:52 The Train that you rode to Newark Liberty International Airport Station is the NJ Transit. The Amtrak Northeast Regional Trains can also go there as well.
Great 👍 video excellent
Going to Florida from Newark and happy! My first time going on a plane btw
i'm flying back home nyc, from il, in couple days again, might film it, might not. love spirit, no issue, but really love SOUTHWEST.
Excellent Job! How's Spirit compared to Southwest? I've never flown them before, but one time a family member of mine said that he flew Spirit once and that they broke his luggage! That was enough for me to hold off lmao, but I'm sure they're better now! That was like 15 years ago though lol, anyway amazing job man! 10/10! Cant wait go to Florida again soon, once this whole Covid Bullshit is over I'll be there! Me and my fiancè and a few of our friends are going down there next October, I'm definitely gonna do a trip report! Should be a blast :)))
Your lack of mentioning the fare paid indicates you didn't have the bargain UA offered between CLE and EWR($14 OW)--no mention either as to your decision to fly Spirit vs other carriers--the opening scenes, were they of Newark or NYC? Who did you fly back to NYC to cover the DL 777 final flight? Will your flight from MCO back to the NYC area be posted?
Butter landing
You’re brave for flying with Spirit 😳😳😳
Why? The airline hasn't had any disasters, which is vastly more than I can say for the legacy airlines. I feel perfectly safe on Spirit.
I love flights
This was the airport I started in while flying to las Vegas
4:22 the guy in front of you boarding has a loofa sponge attached to his book bag lolll
The boss baby the season 2 the PU!
Thanks for this because literally I am flying spirit and I heard there really bad so I wanna watch to see how bad it is and plus I am like 12 and will have nothing to do on my 4 hour flight to Texas
I don't get people who complain about Spirit and Frontier. They are VERY upfront about what they are offering for the price. Is it a luxury flight? No. But then, I would rather spend 2 hours in relative comfort to save $200 or more on a one-way ticket. $200 buys a lot of additional fun at your destination, especially if you can save that both ways.
Dios los bendiga siempre🧡😀
love seeing that yellow school bus flying over my house in NJ, before rio pinar that's 417 in FL
NK417?
Those seats look real cheap and probably uncomfortable but anyway great video with all the window views. I’m from NJ too but South Jersey
I flew from newark to vegas last month. Going to vegas wasnt that bad since i had a aisle seat to stretch my leg, although i had some dude behind me nudging the back of my damn seat SMH. Coming back from vegas, i had a layover in atl. On that flight, i had a window seat so it was kinda tight & my leg got a lil cramped & same thing on the flight from atl to newark. Overall, it wasnt that bad but you may wanna choose ur seat next time.
@@whooelse9444 understood
Have you used elevators at the airports?
I realize you are flying from EWR to MCO, but what part of NJ was that where you caught the metro? Was that Newark also?
Hoboken 👍🏻
Ahhh thank you for replying back! ☺️👍
Not sure where you buy your Otis Spunkmeier Muffins from but even in convenience stores they are at $2.50. It didn't seemed that overpriced to me at least
I love the videos man, but I gotta ask, when are we gonna get voiced over trip reports?
Ok!
I like them not voiced because it’s kind of aesthetic and it’s like a perfect POV of the travel experience
You should fly from Minneapolis to Orlando and you should fly over Sparta Sparta Wi
Was this on Thursday?
Greyhound of the skies
I flew to Vegas recently on a 320....it was ok....Jet Blue on way home better though gave out free refreshments...and free tv and movies
Wildwood is where my beach house is :D
15:45 REEEEE I see Embry Riddle!
When I went to Disney in October I took sprit from Altaic city airport.
Nj
One thing I hate about flying is my ears don’t pop on the way down, I tried chewing gum and swallowing drink but that doesn’t work. So I have to plug my nose and try to breathe out of it but that only sometimes works. It gets painful
I hear everything you are saying about spirit airlines they need to make the tray lot bigger and make the seat pull back a little bit especially people that are tall and make the leg room more comfortable durn flight
Spirit gets a bad rap but as long as you get there safe I don't care. Seats are a bit cramped
For real! I just flew round trip to vegas from newark & those seats could use a tad bit more leg room. Overall, i didnt have any problem flying with spirit. I'd definitely fly with them again.
@@whooelse9444 I need to fly more. I’m too nervous. I want to fly to New Orleans
@@donaldsawyer2618 this was my 1st time ever flying & trust me, i was nervous AF myself. Now that i've done it 3 times, its not all that bad as i thought.
@@whooelse9444 Thanks. I have to fly back to back. Been on planes my whole life and still scared
@@donaldsawyer2618 yeah thats always in the back of ur mind but you gotta stay focused & think with confidence.
I wished that airplane could go to New York but just for me✈️💛🎄
Do you ever fly Jet Blue just curious see how they rank on your scoring
Yep love Jetblue! Got a few vids coming on them relatively soon 😉
Ok!
Well you flew Spirit, what did you expect?
Your camera is so crisp!
I’ve been to Orlando
I’m going to Orlando, Florida to visit Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida on Sunday, April 10, 2022 with my mother Julie Kostiak.
How was your flight
That seat is SOOO small! Can you choose any seat like southwest?
I know lol and no, seats are assigned on Spirit
Spirit uses assigned seating, and charges for reserving specific seats (otherwise a random seat will be picked up on checking in).
I've been on a airplane 5 times and air pressure really hurts
My parents were nervous about going on spirt airlines
So cutee
People are fleeing. Have been for decades. Its nice to leave the cold.
Yeah I need to fly more. I sound like them. lol. I want to relax
Man, I don’t know why you guy complain about this airline so much. Last week I did the exact same flight and it was great. The reason the tray table Is so small is the flight is to short for a full meal. So they don’t need a bigger one. The Leg room great and you even get snacks. The staff is very nice, and we took off safely and landed safely. That’s the MOST important thing. This airline is also ment to be affordable and not luxurious. That is why I rated spirit 5 ⭐️.
Haha I was on first class when I was in the A321 Detroit-Fort Lauerdale
My step Dad is in Orlando you fly down there
I hope I will be ok for the first time on that flight
orlando is my top ones favorite City.
Hey 1 and 56 minutes though it was 2 hr and 30
I LIVE IN NEWJERSEY BY THAT AIRPORT
Going to Orlando, Florida is still much better than going to Southern California, isn’t it?
