First time I ever saw this bizarre finish. The only time I heard about it before now was on the MRN Classic Races. Actually Cale Yarborough started the accident by sliding into the wall after getting into the oil.
This did run on Sunday, so I'm not sure where you got this information. Also, it doesn't show that the race was to be broadcasted on CBS (this goes for both Michigan races).

Was this the race that was supposed to be televised on CBS but got rain delayed and CBS never showed the full race as a result?
