I went down hard on a street bike 7 yrs ago. I was competing before the accident but too banged up now. I didn’t lift for years, doctors told me to just give it up. So i stopped lifting and ended up drinking and doing drugs. I learned that mentally i have to go into the gym and just train what i can. I’m not as strong but i still get the endorphins and feelings of well being after i work out. Keeps me healthy. physically and mentally

No hate for the young fella wearing the red hat taking pictures, but in my head I was screaming "get out of the shot" about ten times

Injuries sucks. I've hurt both knees(2 surgeries each), left shoulder, and both ankles. My shoulder being my only powerlifting injury. The most difficult thing I found was a doctor who actually understood the mind of the athlete because we are wired a bit different.

I am lucky to have had no real serious injuries from powerlifting. Strains and pains, the most minor tears, that kinda thing. In other sports though I've broken bones and it's taught me resilience.

i got this weird thing with my right shoulder and i find that the position i sleep in has a huge effect on it. if i sleep with my arm under the pillow, the next day i feel a bit of sharp pain, sometimes in the front delt, sometimes in back near the scapula.

With those 1 rep maxes on deadlifts powerlifting needs to wake up and allow wrist wraps cause people keep tearing biceps with the underhand side grip.
I figure Arnold allows wraps in his strength competition and it's for a good reason.

Tearing biceps generally has to do with taking gear or not starting the deadlift with your arms straight and pulling violently. Wrist wraps wouldn't help this at all.

You’re talking about the Arnold Strongman Classic? That’s a strongman competition, the sport of strongman always allows for straps. That’s not Arnold himself lol

@@connorbrady5689 Arnold owns the contest and Arnold was there to recognize Eddie Halls wr deadlift.
Just cause powerlifting organization are too dumb to let lifters protect their biceps with a ten dollar set of wrist wraps is primitive.

@@TheBaitShopGuy it’s a strongman contest. Do you know what strongman is?

@@connorbrady5689 its a deadlift. Picking up a bar from the ground. anyone promoting that should know an underhand grip can tear a bicep. Who cares what"word x" describes it
