    This has seriously warmed my heart with joy. Its lovely to see and know their are proper breeders out there who care and love their dogs and puppies. I hate hearing about breeders who just care about money money money and not giving two hoots about the mothers and their pups. Thank you for showing us this xx

    Your excellent method of neonatal puppy feeding is saving a tiny Chinese pug born five days ago. It was touch and go for a while, but she is strong and thriving now! We are so grateful to you for posting this. Your Biewers are gorgeous, and obviously WELL pampered.

    I have just today had 8 Cocker Spaniel puppies born 2 of which are tiny, went out and got the sponges and straight away the two puppies started to feed, its amazing. Before I began the feeding they were cold although with their mother and siblings, they are now warm and contented. Thank you so much for sharing this simple easy method to feed pups or kittens

    You may have saved one of my 2 week old corgi puppy's life with this video. He would not nurse, I had been tube feeding and sub-q and he was getting stronger -- but would NOT nurse. So, I tried this technique and it took a few minutes -- and then he started suckling! After two feedings, he latched back on to Mom and is nursing.
    I'm continuing to supplement him with this method to be sure he gets enough. (He's small in the litter.)
    Thanks so much.

    I just tried this method and I say you make it look easy. It's not as easy but with a little practice so it should go better. Now I had no kitten to try but five baby rabbits. They still live. Even their mother but she is more interested in making more kids. She has not been home in 12 hours. Thank you for this.

    Thanks so much for this great idea! I always have large litters and afraid any assistance I give will cause them to aspirate. Instead I'm continuously rotating puppies and keeping a chart on which ones have nursed and for how long. This is SO natural! I can actually relax when giving any small ones get extra help!

    Hi Adele,
    Thank you so much for this video; it saved a 3 ounce premature papillon last week who had no chance to live. I had previously purchased the sponges from a beauty supply, the goat milk and had the syringes on hand. There were three puppies in all. I had to modify the sponge to fit his tiny mouth, but he took right to it. He is now 5 days old and has doubled his birthweight. My vet has asked for permission to use your video for other breeders who tube feed without success. Thanks

    Nice tips...I've been breeding small Jack Russell's for 34 years, I've never had a problem using a syringe and the small nipples as they fit right over a 3cc syringe. I remove the needle hub from the syringe. Using my thumb and forefinger I make a seal on the sides of the nipple in the puppy's mouth while it is nursing. I have never had a problem feeding a pup that needs extra food. I fed an orphaned litter once and I found 2-3 hours worked best. I also liked using a facial tissue to potty the pups. No need to poke them with a Q-tip. Personally I like the pups to be able to use their legs as it is a natural nursing reflex.

    +Claude Bisson I wished I would have known this 3 yrs ago. I took in a stray and realized she was pregnant. She was a Chihuahua with pug/beagle babies. she had 5, (1 stillborn), she died about 12hrs after (a sweet dog). I tried to take care of these lil pups, i took them to the vet, watched a lot of videos, learned a lot but, sadly, all died but one. It was a very heartbreaking experience, feeling like I failed them & their momma They were born April 23rd 2012, one passed right after mother's day & a piece of me died with them. I still have the 1st born, and is the silliest dog I've ever known. He is my heart. My Buddha bear. I have each of the pups paw prints I want tattooed. RIP my pups Sweat Pea, Brownie, & Peanut

    • @EvangeliumDiSilenti
      @EvangeliumDiSilenti 9 лет назад +3

      +kornnutt4eva This is exactly what is happening to me right now. A stray pitbull found us in July, we decided to keep her after being unable to find the owner, and we found out she was pregnant. I'm guessing because the mother had been unhealthy during half her pregnancy, she's been having a hard time with the puppies. Really difficult labor, 2 still borns, and 1 died after a couple weeks even though we tried saving her. And mama is having her own issues. Guess we didn't do some things right even though we researched. Its sad, but at least the remaining puppies are okay. Strays can be tricky. You never know what they've been through before you take them in.

    • @kornnutt4eva
      @kornnutt4eva 9 лет назад +2

      Good to hear mama didn't pass away. Sorry about the pups that did. I'm wondering if because my mama chi was so small, carrying a litter of puggles, made it really difficult for her. She was all big belly,could barely walk. After giving birth, she looked like a skeleton. So sad. She was a wonderful dog. The small time we had her was a blessing.

    • @EvangeliumDiSilenti
      @EvangeliumDiSilenti 9 лет назад +1

      +kornnutt4eva I didnt know that the mama passed away, sorry about that. The same thing is happening with our mama right now. She's a skeleton. We are feeding her a lot and we are optimistic she will get better. But we are still worried for her :(
