    The prob with the benches in caravans is that they need to be firm enough to sit at the table to eat your dinner but comfy enough to zonk out and watch telly. Obviously for yourself, an assymetrical firm on one side and settee-esque on the other would be perfect.
    Your dogs would suss out which is the comfy side in about 0.1 of a second!

    Hi Andrew, great review vlog as per!! Always loved the Adria caravans very stylish but I prefer a more homely cosy vibe but there you go! too big, I like the idea of the 361 2 berth that you mentioned, my preferred choice. I don't suppose you'll ever find a van that's perfect especially the shower cubicle! It's the same in a house, sealant never lasts forever and is a problem wherever it might be situated. But if someone said to me, would you like this caravan for a few weeks, well I'd bite their hands off!! Great filming, every detail carefully thought through! Falling in love with Ted more and more, he's so cute!! Loving Dougal too of course! So glad you did this video, 2 weeks with nothing was like going cold turkey!! Just greedy I suppose! Anyway, as usual looking forward to see what you do next! Only 2 months and I'm off to Scotland again!! Skerryvore are at Hebcelt this time! Plus, they're on in Shrewsbury in two weeks and yes, my sister and I will be there so look out Shrewsbury!! Take care, hope you're well, sending love and hugs xxx 🥰😘🐶🐕

    Is it just me who has the problem with the road light cable popping off? Maybe it's to do with the cable being interfered with at Caravan Shows? I'd be interested to hear from other ADRIA owners to hear if this has happened to them as well.

    Hi Andrew, have missed seeing you! This has been an in-depth excellent review. The Caravan has a lovely layout, I'm with you on the Upholstery & would prefer a darker shade of Grey, loving the generous size of the Bed & the one you make up in lounge. Shame the Shower has the problem with sealant, definitely needs to be all One Piece. Overall a lovely Caravan & i would definitely be happy spending time in this, Dougal & Ted look well cosy sat in Lounge! Thank You for sharing, Lots of Love to You,Dougal & Ted 💖💖💖💜💜💜 XXXX

    Hi Andre, just watched your latest video. I noticed on this and a few others that you have the Safefill gas bottle in use, the original blue one. I have one the same being a long time user. I do a lot of rallies and have found it a cost effective solution. Mine is nearing its 10 year test date and I now also have one of the latest models and alternate between them. Yours has gaffs tape around it, I have a jubilee clip around mine as the case has shown some spread. I cant’t see that you have done a video on the options for refillable. I think it would be something that would make a good video. I do fear though that LPG at the pump will get harder to find. Maybe if more caravan/Motorhome uses adopted it we can stretch it out further. Keep up the good work.

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Год назад

      You're right, availability is getting more challenging. I think Gaslow are hoping to persuade motorhome and caravan dealers to have LPG tanks and become resellers, which makes sense. This Safefill cylinder I was using was borrowed from a friend, I have a smaller Gaslow in my own van. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you. I was about to purchase a caravan from a uk manufacturer until I read online reviews regarding quality and aftersales care. No names mentioned! Your review was so thorough that I decided to go and view the dart, and it was an immediate purchase. After much anticipation, we collected 2 weeks ago and definitely has lived up to expectations. Our dealer has changed the direction of the bedroom socket as per your suggestion, and we have yet to find a single fault. I have checked the main cable and it seems very well supported with metal clips, but have added a few cable ties just in case ! Once again, thanks for the superb and in depth review

    Hi Andrew, beautiful van and great, balanced review as ever.
    Re the TV issue, while I agree, I can't fathom why anyone would prefer to stare at an electronic box than take in the view from that window; if someone really couldn't possibly live without their daily dose of soaps, presumably it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to feed a coax cable along the back of the offside bench and put a light-ish TV on the fold out flap next to the sink, using the full U-shape lounge for viewing?

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Год назад +1

      Good idea! But I'm with you - I have enough of screens in my life! :)

  • @sparkmeister4706
    @sparkmeister4706 Год назад +2

    ive been looking at this model for 2/3 years. But for me it just misses the mark on so many levels.
    2 years ago the steel wheels and blue fabric was a no no. The TV postion in lounge isnt the best either. Now the price for me you'd expect to see a stereo. window in the door a better pump and alde heating. and the kitchens always seam to miss the mark in caravans now. we need worktop space rather then unusable glass lids.
    Id rather it have 1 gas ring 1 electric ring and a sink right at the back.
    BUT, the layout is great ( minus TV situation )

  • @raymondporter2094
    @raymondporter2094 Год назад +2

    Yet ANOTHER very good and comprehensive review, Andrew.
    The moveable track lighting seems a nice touch.
    I absolutely agree with you about the sealant around the base of the shower being undesireable. Maybe it doesn't matter to those who always go to caravan sites & therefore use site facillties, but those of us who normally camp on farmers' fields, on DA meets, THSs etc, who still want a shower every day, will inevitably suspect that the sealant will come away/degrade over time and that may very well lead to dampness in the van. Obviously caravans being driven around on UK roads will certainly have some flex in them and that makes sealant issues almost a certainty. Not good.
    I am surprised that Adria have failed to deal with the cable issue which you highlighted some years ago. Bearing in mind that a few cable ties must cost only pennies, and that they resolve the issue perfectly well, it is something Adria should attend to. Same comment applies to electric sockets that are not properly aligned.
    But, overall, a clearly favourable review.
    I think your very professionally produced reviews are the most reasonable, observant and influential on RUclips and I'd always want to know what YOU thought before buying.

    Lovely van, if we had the bigger tow car (and more cash) we would love one. Like that little shelf thing in the kitchen. Can you get these for other vans? Ps, how are you getting on with the 304? Would love to see a review of it now you’ve had it a year or so.

  • @davidmbell
    @davidmbell Год назад +3

    Very nice indeed. Love the layout. Very much three rooms. Would really suite us. My only niggles would be ; the awning light needs to be above the door (for smaller porch awnings) the near side window is irritatingly smaller than the offside. Why not have them match, even if the door would encroach it a little. Finally, not a fan of the hob/sink and work top arrangement. I prefer a permanent drainer and somewhere to put an electric kettle. Seems a lot of van for the money.

    Andrew - great content as usual, I just have 1 question?
    MTPLM and towing weight - can you legally tow a caravan with a bigger MTPLM than your towing weight? I ask this as the advice I was given was you could not (although the impression I was given in the reply I got from the Caravan and Motorhome Club was the weren't entirely sure!) - I'm curious about this as your caravan has an MTPLM of 1650kg and your car has a max towing weight of 1600kg
    Keep up the great work - it was a pleasure for Fiona and I to meet you last year at the NEC!

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Год назад

      Hi David, I checked this out with the technical department of the Camping and Caravanning Club before making the video before this one about weights. If you have a car trailer with an MTPLM of 3500kg, and it weighs 500kg unladen, you can tow it unladen with any car that can legally tow 500kg and above. It's the ACTUAL weight of the trailer that counts, not the maximum technically permitted weight. I towed the Dart at 1550kg to keep it below the 1600kg limit of the EV6.

  • @franhiatt1

    The shower sealant issue would be a deal breaker for me. The last thing you want with a new caravan is to have to re-do what should have been picked up by the factory.

  • @perlundin86
    @perlundin86 Год назад +2

    Lovely video as always! And I can say that we want this model in the rest of Europe! So good looking and nice layout! But in the UK the Altea is positioned as a higher class compared to the rest of Europe and for example, we only have one Altea-model with panoramic front window and that is the 392 LH. In other words the smallest model. I would love to have the Dart but with a transverse island bed so it could be slightly shorter. A length mounted island bed always adds more to the length. But this caravan range makes so much sense. Focus on light weight but roomy and not entry level. Perfect for EV-drivers.
    Regarding the lack of external outlets, is it allowed in UK to use a splitter for the extension cable? I remember that you've said that charging needs to be done from the caravan? Why is the rule made like this?

    • @andrewjditton
      @andrewjditton  Год назад +1

      I have no idea why the rules are like this! No, we are not permitted to use splitters in the UK, we can't be trusted... :-/

You now have me excited after mentioning the Adria 391 as I loved there small 2 person one due to the funky look and lighter weight! Has anything else cropped up similar in the past several month worth considering?

      Glad to here you're through the worst of it. Other than the Eribas the only other cool small van could be the T@b 320, but the three of you would need to sleep on the one huge bed. The Action 391PD (the one I like) is only a two berth, but the 391PT coming to the UK has two double beds, one above the other.
