The other doctor is able to connect emotionaly to her patients ofc no one would want someone to not be able to do normal things everyone could do, but medicaly her opinion was biased of of feelings.
She could die if the surgery fails, she has good people around her and she will live with a few limitations, that's the undeniable truth of the situation.
On a emotional stand point, no she won't like to live Like this, it sucks to have those limitations, but at the end she might die and not live at all.

Sadly as a family member to a boy on almost this same level of autism that wouldn't always work. Saying "imagine so and so" to somebody who just doesn't get it is one thing but explaining it to someone who is very logic driven, not emotionally, you'd most likely get a reply of "but that isn't a real sickness and so it doesn't make sense" So you're hypothetical would just fall flat. Hypotheticals don't work when people are too logical to know better.

@@hayleedelphynn6983 Heya, autistic teen here to say please don't refer to autistic people as 'this level of autism' or 'this autistic' or similar things, autism isn't a spectrum of 'more autistic' to 'less autistic', it's a spectrum more like a circle.
Think a cake, each slice represents different autistic traits like sensory issues, lack of social awareness, ability to communicate needs and emotions, logical thinking, and so on
Each autistic person has a different amount of each slice, none of us are quite the same, just like any other person. For me, I would have a medium sized slice of sensory issues, a small sized slice of lack of social awareness, a big slice of logical thinking, and I'm not going to continue that for every autistic trait because it'd last forever lmao
Autism can't be scaled from more to less autistic and talking about it like it can reinforces people's ableist views or autism, which usually stem from them being misinformed or simply not being taught properly what autism is. We are complex individuals with our own specific wants, needs and likes. Just like any other human. Our disability does not take away from that.
Thank you for reading this, and especially if you have someone close to you that's autistic make sure you're well informed. Make sure you get your information from autistic sources, since most of the time information from sources that don't come from autistic people themselves are misinformed or have majorly outdated information. It means that when I get exposed to any sound above 80 decibels, I start to feel a lot of discomfort in my ears, I get very stressed and overwhelmed. It was caused by an extremely loud noise exposure in 2021, and there is no cure. Because of living with it, I have become afraid of loud noises, so I avoid going out as much as I can. I used to have no issue being in a loud environment, like when I mow the lawn. Now I can't even do that without needing hearing protection. A secondary issue I have is my weight, it's hard to move around at 300+ pounds, forget going to the gym, that's too loud for me. I don't have the motivation anyway, even to do exercise at home.

I love the show allowed us to see Dr. Murphy grew leaps and bounds throughout the years. No, he didn't understand certain things earlier on, but the other doctors collectively taught him in their own ways. Even this lady doctor learned a few things along the way. There were things about her that made me think she dealt with things that made her seem "uncaring" at times. I love that she and Dr. Murphy leaned to care about someone else. He has his wife and baby and she just got married on the last show and they an adopted baby. I think the season and series finale is next week. Thank God for the Dr. Glassmans that showed people like Shawn unconditional love and a colleague like Claire who was so patient and understanding with him when they started. I am happy to see they brought her back. I just hope what happened the last episode doesn't make me UPSET in the final episode of the series. They can't have brought her back just to kill her off. Shaun not wanting to do it isn't because he's being heartless, it's because he wants the patient to live. I get theres probably better ways she couldve phrased it, but coming from someone with a surpressed immune system I can understand any kind of physical touch, on any level, big or small, can be challenging; can sometimes mean life or death. Ive never seen Good Doctor, but i imagine all that little girl wanted was a chance at a normal, healthy life & not have to experience friendships/relationships through a phone screen anymore.

So y is everyone hating on the blonde??? Its kinda like being in court. One has to defend the patient's life (Dr Murphy) and the other defending the patient's choice (the blonde). Yeah it wasnt right for her to bring his autism in this AT ALL! (Im a mother of an autistic boy. She had no right there when he can make clear and epic decisions) But im with the blonde and the patient. Who want to live in a cage pretty much. Cage of fear of falling or being bumped by someone or something. Nah i dont blame the patient, life sucks enough.

Then she should have said that rather than weaponizing her own personal biases as if she were making a point that proves her colleague is "absolutely wrong," they must consider the risks even if Shaun isn't getting what the lack of touch or interaction is doing to her psychologically he still isn't completely wrong but really she isn't bringing any type of valid point to be a reasonable counterargument to Shaun's.

Yo I’m autistic and I process what I see just fine, it’s expressing it that’s the hard part most of the time. (Keep in mind autism is a spectrum and not all autistic people will be the same as me fyi)
The doc is just saying what needs to be said, straightforward. That’s how we talk. If anything withholding information or ignoring information is more stressful than saying things outright.
A lot of people are scared to do that these days I’ve noticed and personally it really affects how I perceive the world. I’m told to sugarcoat and make someone feel better about themselves, and I just don’t get it. I see that girl is hurting, and sad, but it will be worse in the long run if she isn’t patient.

One thing i havent seen anyone mention here is the fact that Disney made a TONNE of Isabela dolls, thinking she would be the fan favourite but it turned out to be Luisa and they barely made any dolls and stuff for her since they probably thought people wouldnt like her because she isnt as "pretty" as Isabela. So i think they ended up losing money from it
Edit: I think my comment jumped videos, this was meant to be about an encanto reaction

“I get you’re autistic” ma’am that has absolutely nothing to do with it! My little brother is autistic and he’s the smartest kid I know, he’s been able to sleep elephant since he was 3! He knows what he’s doing, you just don’t like the answers🙄

She does here because the girl deserves to live a normal and full life, to have freedom and feel someone's embrace.

She’s explaining feelings. She knows feelings better than Sean. That’s just the way it is even if you don’t like that, those are the facts. It’s bc he has autism like she points out. She’s right and says it a bit frustrated, but not hateful

Are you guys all brain dead. Never in this clip did Sean say not to do the surgery he only mentioned how highly risky it is and if they make a mistake there is no fixing it or reversing the surgery. She either lives or dies and in a situation like this you can’t base the procedure around emotions as it is possible in the future it can be done more safely without killing the patient.

No one is blaming her there saying she was wrong about Shaun not understanding, everyone is wrong from time to time, what people blame Reznik for is her being an absolute crap head 90% of the time
