  • Installed the Flat-Out Bar engine guard made by Harley Davidson ( for the Softail models ) on Gray Ghost - my new 2022 Low rider ST. A straight forward simple install that requires removal of outer fairing , removing the lower fairing mount and installing the new Engine guard instead. Looks really clean and sleek…

I don't know Sandy 🤔... these parts, functionally and looks wise move your bike to the "stunter" side. If that's what you're going for then awesome, but as for real use and normal riding I can't imagine this engine guard or windshield are going to be much benefit.

The tiny windshield looks like the goofy useless thing MoCo put on the Sport Glide that everyone threw in the trash.
If you actually use the bike for more than bragging rights & garage art. Like to include commuting, getting caught in the rain or cold, and to include longer trips. The short stock windshield is generally adequate for people 5’9 and shorter.
Taller riders will want MoCos taller windshield and with a good smoked tint for sun glare & better looks. Windshields need to come to the height of your chin to get really effective & useful.
The bar is a good investment to save engine cases, tank, bars mirrors & fairing from when the bike gets dropped or knocked over. 👍.
I have a Sport Glide with the 15” Gustafson vented windshield & lowers. The taller rear shock that MoCo put on the LRS-T. And the Bunk King bar that MoCo copied this bar from. All done long before MoCo announced the LRS-T. BTW 2019 with 30k miles despite always working 70 hour weeks.

Sandy you were very unhappy with the wind buffering with the stock w.s. and happy with the taller w.s. and how much more comfortable it was. Why the hec are you putting a little stubby w.s.???? It will be worthless!!!!!!

Sandy, I love your videos and I love that bike, but I gotta say, if I owned a Low Rider ST, I wouldn't be a fan of these mods. Harley should have engineered that bar to be bolted right on to the existing location, without having to remove all that hardware. I am also a fan of the traditional shaped engine guards, not the single bar. As far as that new windscreen, I can't see how that will provide any wind protection whatsoever. I'll be anxiously waiting for your review on it. Take care, buddy.

I don't see how this bar would help because it's up so high. That's a long way for the bike to fall before the bar catches. If it works that's awesome because bung king is a lot more expensive. I'd rather buy this one

Lol. That’s a whole lot of work just to put on a bar that can’t even double as a highway foot rest. Thought I saw another vid where there is a bar that mounts lower on this bike. I’d opt for that one or wait until somebody makes an aftermarket option. And that bronze “windscreen” ain’t doing it for me. But I do like the looks of the new ST; it intrigues me. Keep the shiny side up!

I bought the El Diablo edition of this bike recently. The parts guy at the dealership could not find any Harley product that works as an engine guard for this this bike. Definitely did not know about this flat bar. I bought the Bung King aftermarket solution for the front and back. I have not installed them yet, but the video by GEM implies that it is an easier install compared to the Harley product. You don't have to remove the fairing. Thanks for the video.

Ok, that flat bar doesn't belong on that bike. IMHO you need either that new mustache type bar or just regular crash bars, especially if your putting highway pegs on, which I'm sure you will be. And I get it that your getting nice parts to try out, but that shorty windscreen, other than the color of it, serves no purpose. HD is making a nice softail "touring" bike, maybe they'll have that same color in a taller windscreen, it's a work in progress, looking good though, cheers Sandy, 😎😎😎

Sandy, Mac daddy! I would do black but,I’m jealous, stupid both probably. I gotta great used sled 3 months ago, I could’ve dropped another 10 and then rolled like you. Nice job… maybe I dropped 12 or 13 this fall and trade the used one out for LRST. Biden has got to do something to get the stock market back before November so maybe I’ll take some profits and trade up.

If you're waiting on Biden, you'll be lucky to buy a bicycle. I've lost $15,000 in the last two months.

@@HOLYSHIFT Don’t get me wrong brother. I am enjoying 15% price hikes, double for gas, inflated real estate assets - good, stock markets down 20%. Biden and his kid appear to be crooked. The Wall Street Journal finally came out and said Hillary is crooked. Transition of power doesn’t happen until 1 - 20-23. Kamala is an idiot. Hell Bernie Sanders is more lawn order than any of these mofos. Schumer Pelosi and that whack job for Massachusetts are all a bunch of trolls And they’ve got media amplification through Facebook, Twitter, NBC, ABC, Disney ESPN ABC, Comcast, Microsoft,…… where is the DOJ? Why no RICO investigations for those that took the hundreds of millions in BLM cash… Then bought mansions?
