Bought a black 2022 Forty-Eight four days ago. Figured since I was born in 1948 I should own one of these. It’s my 24th motorcycle I’ve been blessed with in my short 73yrs. My 5th motorcycle this year. Yeah I know, way to many. Really like this bike though. Only have 130 miles on it, but it is so numbly and feels light. Your right on about being able to turn it around in a short circumference. You can turn it on a dime and get 9 cents change. I am enjoying this bike. If I feel the need for speed I’ll ride my 2022 ZX10-R.
Had my 48 for a month now and loving it. Take a minute and set the pre-load on the rear shocks. The springs seem really stiff at first but they break in quickly. The new bike learning curve was very short and easy on it. The low end torque is great.
I have a 2013 48 I bought at the insurance auto auction, it had been stripped down to a rolling frame no Tins, lights, exhaust, tank or seat. It took me 3 years to reassemble piece by piece. Truly a win-win. 😎
I have bought Harley Davidson mini footboard kit for my 48 sportster and they dont fit even though they said they would. Can you tell me what I need. My bike is a 2022 same bike you are riding in this video. Ive changed the pipes and the seat and turned the mirrors up but other than that its just like the video bike 4:214:27
Wifey just took delivery of hers, a first bike post Harley Rider Academy. Beautiful rig to be sure, but it's clear it is a "parts bin" build. Oil light illuminates at hot idle, noted with 1 mile on it. The owner manual states, however, that the if the light remains on at speed, that there's a problem. Compared to the 08' 883XL, it's just a little too clanky/clunky, as if built at the far-end of design tolerance. Problem? No, as it is fit to her inseam and reach, and she has mastered low-speed maneuvering on it; it is a solid Sporty, and she loves it, just a little sloppy.
You probably found out about the oil tank filler. If someone pushed it down and it unlocked, the oil system would sense this and turn on the red system light. I had both the engine service light and the low oil warning come on at the same time. When I went to check the oil level I noticed the cap was not seated down completely. I restarted and the light went off. If you keep the bike long enough and change the tires, get away from the Michelin Scorchers. Those tires do not have a lot of grip. Check out the Dunlop D402 for the Sportsters or the K591 series which is now for only Sportsters. Those Michelins sucked in my opinion. I thought the handling was the bike…not!
Great content, thanks. I have a question for you: Can I swap out the 2.1 peanut for a standard 3.3 on this bike? I'm looking at a 2022 forty-eight nighthawk (it's just a blacked out forty-either) but I'd like a bigger tank on it.
That would be awesome if that could be done. I'm looking at one of these for my first real bike. And i would rather take a smaller bike like this cross country compared to a huge house on wheels.
I have the same year bike in blue with just 85miles. Took it yesterday to dealer for battery replacement. The dealer was kinda pushing me to trade in for a 2024 roadking special. What do you think?
Picked up a 2022 back in March. Done a few things to it. What's your favorite thing about it? Do you have a resource you can share for aftermarket things you can do to this bike?
Thanks for the video. A couple of questions: 1. Can you put the 3.3 gas tank? If yes, how much do the aesthetics of the bike change by doing so? 2. I've heard in multiple videos from other people that the first thing to do is to change the standard pipes to STAGE 1 pipe kit in order to get the real sound and feel of a HARKEY.. Why is that and why doesn't HARKEYS come with such equipment as standard? Thank you.
I'm new to riding. So pardon my dumb question. Am i able to put saddlebags or some sort of luggage on these? I'm really interested in the 1200 sportster and from what i heard the 48 is basically the "custom" version of one.
Something in the Softail line may fit you better but I was perfectly fine on this motorcycle and I am 6" 230LBS.. It would basically be personal preference. You should swing by a dealership and throw a leg over one.
Hey Oscar! New rider here, I’m 5’11 and 230. Just bought a 48 as my first bike (only bike I’ve ever ridden) with the forward controls I’m plenty comfortable on it! It has plenty of get up and go with me on it as well, I don’t think you’d regret your decision at all if you got one!

My dream-bike! I have a 19, 48 with a Stage 3! She loves to romp!! Nice review!!
I just got my first 48 and I love it. Yes I will be doing upgrades. Good video.
I've owned many different Japanese motorcycles including a gixxer. This is one of the 3 Harley motorcycles that I actually liked.
Just bought a Sportster 22 very nice bike
Just bought one, I love it...a little zippy out of the hole, but I will get used to it.

Yes you can, plenty have. As long as the 3.3 tank is an EFI tank.
Great color tank 😊
Just bought mine today!
Nice. How do you like it?

for a height of 5.5, is it more suitable for sportster 48 or iron 883?
can't get it yet, but love't😘
Which exhaust (loud) would you recommend for this bike???

Awesome brother 🤘
Still the nicest Harley.
Yep, I've had a bunch of Harleys, Started on a sporty, just bought my last bike, a '22. It's too cool .
Thanks for the video.

To answer your second question, it's to meet California CARB emissions and other emissions rules in the states, as well as around the world.
Would you recommend this bike for someone that has never drove a motorcycle?
Poor audio quality dude.... But like the bike
Would it be better if converted to hardtail?
I’m getting one. No never risen one but it will work here in Thailand for me and I’m getting white

Yes. There are a bunch of bag options for this bike.
Could this be the last 48 of its kind
I just got my M endorsement and im looking for my first bike and im considering going to look at this bike
What area are you in?
Owned one and put a cobra slip. Best sound. Better than v&h

It was. The new Nightster is lighter now. Check out our review video of the Nightster.

@@KermitTheNog I almost got the 48 but I ended up getting a fat bob after all
Nice bike, but barely enough gas to go from gasstation to gasstation is a huge no .
damn that stock exhaust sounds absolute pathetic lol
My question to you, sir, if you feel generous, would you like to donate this bike to me?
