Elvis sang a lot of original songs written for him or by aspiring writers that submitted them to him for consideration, and covered some of his favorites by other Artists.
Frank Sinatra never wrote a song neither did Whitney Houston or many, many other artists of that time. I think people would be shocked how many hits Sung by their favorite artists, were actually covers. Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers was a hit by Roy Hamilton in the early 50's. Dolly Parton wrote and sang I Will Always Love You, Long Before Whitney Houston made it a Hit.😄

I've found 2 things to be true about people and Elvis. The ones that run their mouth who think they're informed, but just ignorant. And the ones who are more reserved and perceptive that actually hear and see what he's doing. The first batch will lose out relying on what they been 'told' over the years which 9 times outta 10 is bullshit. Being content jaw jacking listening to the latest flavor of the month that required next to zero talent to produce. The second batch will slowly start to realize over time there's something really different about Elvis knowing they're getting hooked by the phenomenon that was/is ELVIS. They are the future, who are going to the next level carrying the torch. Everyone has an opinion/comment....98% of them are useless and have their own agenda or promote someone else's agenda. News update people, Elvis isn't going anywhere....yesterdays and todays stars are.

I would only suggest 2 versions of the song:
    1969 Studio Version (most unique)
    1970 Live Los Vegas
This 1973 version is mellow, and elvis looks good, classy concert, but this song is significantly different & better in the 2 I mentioned

Elvis kissed a lot of his fans 🤣 but anyway I think a guy named Mark James wrote this song and he did release it but it went nowhere for him. So Elvis recorded it in 1969 and the song went to number 1 go figure. So the saga continues for Elvis songs by the way I prefer Elvis rendition of Bridge Over Trouble Water cuz when that song came out in the beginning I was like this song is boring lol. Yea I so wasn’t into all the folk music stuff back in the 70’s uh NO. So Elvis introduced me to a lot musics I otherwise wouldn’t of bothered listening to. Elvis has been my boyfriend since I was 6 🤣 and I’m 57 I’ve been in love with him longer than my husband. Haha
