2011 pistols are my go-to for every day carry and home defense. With companies making guns like the Staccato P, Staccato XC, Staccato C2, Staccato CS, Staccato C, Atlas Gunworks, Springfield Prodigy, Tisas B9R, Tisas DS 9, MAC 9 DS, LFA Apollo 11 and of course Bul Armory TAC, EDC, UL, and all other SAS II variants, there is an abundance of great options when looking for the list of the top 2011 handguns. But when it comes to the best 2011 pistol, I think this new 2024 Bul Armory TAC Pro is absolutely a contender. Check out this full 1000 round review of the new Bul Armory double stack 1911 TAC pistol courtesy of Nightwood Guns!
To my RUclips manual reviewer: I am not selling any firearms or related accessories. This is a semi automatic pistol in its factory configuration and I am a certified firearm instructor and range safety officer. This was filmed under supervision at a private range. Thank you.
Shill!
Just kidding - I have one too and it’s legit. Waiting on shooting a couple matches before getting my review out on it.
He’s telling the truth folks - the gun is obscene
Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it 👍 Definitely impressive!
Nice to see my two favorite Gun RUclipsrs conversing and agreeing on a gun! Now just to save up enough pennies.
Well, I'll be... A wild Humble Dad Joke appears. Potential cross over episode ??
We don’t need your review HM, go ahead and use it for your personal gain, NW is all we need for our decision lol he git the ok and fed the people!!! Your dead to us HM
@@miltonparker8353 hey man - someone not wanting to know my opinion hasn’t stopped me before and it won’t now!
Just wish Buls were more available in US market!
Right! Took my almost two years to catch a drop. Already waiting again to buy another after just picking up mine yesterday.
@@jtaylorb88 were you not getting the email alerts? How long did it take you to check out? Do you remember how long it took to sell out?
@@lmSteveothey sell out pretty quickly, if you get the in stock email notification click the link and make the purchase.
@@lmSteveo yes I do but unfortunately the times I missed them they came in stock at 4 AM my time and were sold out two hours later. The one I finally got it took me about 5 minutes to check out and it stayed in stock for about 8 hours.
@@jtaylorb88 would you say the restock time is around the same time? Can you remember how often they restock? The last restock was Sunday 21st. Not sure the time eastern time? Would you get the new 2024 version or the 2023 version? Don’t think they made any huge changes to the new one so I’m hoping it won’t have and issue. This being the first batch I’m not sure if any bugs or issues need to be worked out on later restocks. The 2023 line has been out for a while now so it’s more reasonable I would assume. Bul armory guns seem pretty soiled based on the reviews I have seen.
I can hardly believe how flat this thing shoots, that's wild. Zero regrets buying the 2023 TAC, but now I just find myself wanting another one. The 2024 Ultralight looks pretty cool too...
Crazy right? 😂 I’m still carrying and loving my 2023 TAC, so don’t worry. We are still in the same cool kid club! 😎
You get the 4.25 or 5?
@@atr00157 I went for the 4.25". Still love it.
Great content! Your channel has come a long way, and you have come a long way as a shooter!
Thanks, I appreciate it! 😎👍
BUL is phenomenal. One company with products which are better than the hype.
Very true! 👍
LOVE the look of the new TAC. The full length dust cover on the DS 1911s look awesome. Plus the flush barrel is outstanding. Love that they listen to their customer base. Definitely going to be picking up one of the 4.25 to start carrying.
💯👍
I went to their site , which I do about once a week , but never saw the new model until now and their new models are now there so I signed up for notification , man I really like there new look
Absolutely 😎👍
How does it show up for you I see competition and duty/ EDC but no Tac under either. All are single stacks.
Man i want a Bul Armory so bad. They're really hard to find though. Whenever I do find them they're almost always at a marked up price.
Yes we are at war so some of the products are domestic...
Hoop this will change and you we be able to get 1
You are complaining about TWO different things. Finding and price.
I can find you one. But if you're complaining about hard to find... you know you can't complain about price.
That's the way the world works.
humble brag, but i scored a used sas ii tac 4.25 from online classifieds haha, also got two staccato Ps now and the bul feels great. cool guns. signed up for notifications for this one
Getting on the “notify me” list on their site is always the way to go.
sold out, sold out, sold out, oh theres the one i want gb...and its 30% or worse over msrp on auction with 100 bids.
Great analysis! Bul is kicking ass. That might be next weeks's SMOKIN GUN!!!
Yep, Bul is absolutely bringing it! 🤯
Staccato got served and has responded with slowly becoming the American Bul Armory, complete with proprietary magazines with the plan to expand their V3 lineup.
This is honestly the truth 😅
Bul is never available, they’ll never be on staccato’s level of production
@martinlawrenece1923
Staccato may have production numbers and generally have produced a consistent product. Having owned three and still having two, sold the XC not sure I’d buy one nowadays with the current competition in the market.
Staccato use to be a great entry level option and when one moved up a tier the magazines carried over. The new V3 lineup will take that away when they are done transitioning the lineup over to V3. At that point Bul definitely is a better value to be stuck with proprietary mags.
Vudoo Gunworks, Legion Precision, and a few others have challenged the XC price tag/value-options.
@@martinlawrence1923 one would think that elevated production would bring the price down, and Bul would cost more due to availability. I love my 4.25, will wait patiently to get the new ported 5".
@@martinlawrence1923I've read somewhere that a US Facility is in the making. Might change and get em in the hands of more folks.
I am just going to guess before watching it that it is near perfect. Bul Armory is incredible
Not too far off! 😂👍
Honestly I love the previous model of Bul armory. I love that protruding barrel.
Until you drop it and damage the barrel. There's reasons, besides aesthetics, for flush mount barrels. Plus, they added the full length Picatinny rail for some badass looks!
I just sent my Tac 2 to get cut flush and crowned and have the slide DLC coated
I always want what I can’t have… Been on the email wait list for months and now I want the new version even more!
Bul can be such a tease 😅
Omg!!! “ if I put on a blue wig and call myself, surely they will stop monetizing my videos“ that was awesome🤣🤣 👏🏼 got a follow just because of that quote! 😂
😅👍
All the things you pointed out are why I prefer a Bul Armory to a staccato. I sold my P and got an UL comp, and tac 4.25. Now I need the new model of Tac. Ill add that i have a factory ported Bul M5 jet from the late 90s that out shoots most everything as well
Very nice! And yeah, other than the XC, Bul Armory pistols typically shoot better out of the box and have superior capacity.
My SAS Tac ii (2023 non ported). Although I have multiple Staccatos and an Atlas….the Bul gets the most range time.
Phenomenal and punches waaaayyyy above its price point.
Same! Agreed 100% 👍
Great vid as always Shirley. Congrats.
Thanks 😅👍 I’m glad you enjoyed!

I have yet to shoot Bul Armory, but holy shit man, that thing is flat-shooting, period!

@@NightwoodGuns 😂
Your timing is impeccable! This is the gun! I am so glad by the time I realized who & what Bul Armory was, they were out of the 5" SAS ii TAC. The reason? They were updating their models for 2024! I found this out after IWA RUclipsrs posted about Bul. They stated 2nd quarter release. I did a deeper dive & it seems more like Sept/Oct... Ugh. IMO, it's worth the wait. And since my name is on an email list already, I'm hoping to be able to get this by year's end. That's the major downside with Bul in the States, supply & demand. These guns are in high demand outside the States for competition, military contacts, etc. Now about the gun updates. I've decided to go with the exact gun in this video prior to seeing this video. The BAO systems design? Genius! Flush, crowned barrel? Thank you. And all the rest you can see in this video. The price? Perfectly placed to win over some of those Staccato fan boys. Bang for the buck? Try to beat this! Bul Armory is the real deal.
How much are they
$2450 5" TAC PRO@@michaelrodriguez1867
Agreed 100% 😎👍 After I saw this at IWA it became my number 1 anticipated pistol for 2024.
Got mine today and I love it. A lot of fun for the money.
Absolutely 😎👍 Congrats!
Damn dude, that thing comes ported from the manufacturer that right there is crazy. I love it. I’m also convinced ports are the way to go over comps.
Yeah, it’s some impressive iron 😎👍 And ports are definitely efficient!
Such a nice pistol, love seeing Bul getting it done for a better price! Hopefully they get on the comp game and have a little more production out there.
Bul’s in a good spot: selling everything they can make within minutes. It just sucks for all of us that have to fight over them like a new pair of Jordans 😂 And yeah, I’d love to see a decent comped option!
That’s a serious looking hand cannon. I like it.
It’s mean, for sure 😎
Your review of the Bul Armory pistol has me very interested. Watching it return to zero is mind boggling. I feel like ordering one right now?? It surpasses the Stacatto in every category except the price!!!
It’s a great blaster, that’s for sure!
This looks amazing. I love my Tac 4.25. I'll be looking at the new stuff very soon. By the way, great work sir. Thank you.

Great video. I didn’t think the bul would get any better at such s great price point. Here we are lol.
Yep, I was blown away when I first got hands on it 😂👍
Just noticed, your close to 100 K!
Congrats. Obviously honesty pays.
WOW, I like this gun.
I'll have to look up the price, which is usually my first mistake! 🤣
$2250 is the current price for the 5" TAC PRO. I believe it will be $2450 for the 2024. Extra mag, BAO system with plates, flush barrel, etc. add to the new price. Still worth it, IMO. Still cheaper than a Staccato!
Yep, we are getting close! Definitely made some enemies with the honesty, but I’d rather do that than sell my soul. 😅
Yes Bull armory give us about 4.6in comped pistol with overall length about 5in !!!
That would be awesome 👍
Or, I'd love to see a finished 4.6" comp, or with ports. Maybe only 4 or 6 ports.
First time watching one of your videos 👍 great all-around review!! Bul Armory products are so underrated, in my opinion!
Welcome to the channel! I’m glad you enjoyed the vid 👍 Bul definitely makes an impressive pistol!
ALWAYS FUN TIMES HERE IN ARIZONA

As allways pro review, bull armory in isreal has one of the bast service and the people ther are super helpful and nice,so buy bull armory gun's=pro wapons and pro service!!!!
Bul Armory has definitely become an all-time favorite! 🙌
This looks like the closest thing to a Robocop look-alike gun on the market... and I'm here for it.
It’s mean-lookin’ that’s for sure! 👍
They have 1 that looks closer nd it's on the 1911 syndicate channel which is a beast of a gun.....you'll enjoy watching it I guarantee
Hey Brett, yeah, I’ve been a little surprised as well. Nope, not making any mods. I did fire 12 rounds over at the range the day I picked it up just to test fire. But, the owner of the range who is the FFL saw the damage as soon as we took it out of the packaging, so hopefully I’m good there. Anyway, it’s like I told them, I can live with this stuff, but it’s just disappointing. Of all the pistols I’ve ever purchased, from Staccato down to Glock, and there’s a lot of them, I’ve never had anything like that happen. Take it easy. Thanks for the response.
Let me know how it turns out.
As usual a comprehensive wonderful detailed review. The only problem is this video makes me want something I can't get, even more!
I’m glad you enjoyed the review! 😅👍
Looks like another good gun from Bul Armory. I personally don’t like full rails on 19/20-11s but thats just me. Good video.
Nothing wrong with preferring the classic look 👍
Only issue I found was with the BAO plates. They didn't include the longer screws needed to mount the holosun and plate onto the gun. Pain in the ass trying to find out what screws are needed
Aw man, I hate to hear that. Mine is a pre-production model and a set of OEM Holosun 507 Comp screws worked perfectly. That’s how I was told it was designed. So they should have worked for you based on the information I was given. Thanks for sharing your experience. If you find out what screws are needed, leave it in a comment here since it might save others from a headache. 👍
Every time you review a Bul Armory product I want to buy it!
Bul makes it easy to want one! 😂
OMG! You video couldn't come soon enough. I have two Bul Armory, and I stopped following them because their guns are always out of stock. I was thinking of getting a Staccato C2 this Friday. Not anymore, I paused the video halfway to go put my name on the waiting list for a 4.25" TAC PRO and a UL PRO. I'm saving my money for the PRO. 😆
Always happy to inspire new gun acquisitions 😂👍 They could start rolling out in the next couple of weeks if we are lucky so keep an eye on your email 👀
I’m saving up for a nice 2011. Pay once cry once. Bul armory I’ve heard nice things about. I’d like a staccato but don’t want to be a “fanboy”
I felt the same way until I went ahead and got the C2. Dang it’s nice. Perfect size to basically do everything for me. Now my EDC, could compete with, shoots great, very accurate and fun to shoot.
I will be getting more 2011’s (191-DS) but could not be happier. And yes, they are $$ but sold 3 of my other guns sitting in my safe and no regrets. Worth the $$
? Just owning a Staccato doesn't make you a fanboy...
I've got 5 Bul pistols and my good bro has 2 Staccatos.... since comparing he is honest that he should have just got the Buls and saved $1000. That extra $ covers your dot and light.
Wait for the Bul. Staccato fan boys will look at you with envy. Most of them are going to wish they bought a Bul. Especially when they spent more on their piece. Plus, Staccato has crappy resale value, if you decided to sell and upgrade to a better gun, like the Bul! 😂
Can’t go wrong with Bul or Staccato. Both are excellent! 👍
Thanks for the content. Looks like you had fun making this one. 😎
Awesome review man! I'm playing with the same Tac Pro and I'm loving it as much as you. Keep it up man good vids! -Walsh
Very nice! It’s definitely a sweet blaster! 😎👍 I’ll keep an eye out for your vid!
Yeah, he does damned excellent reviews. I started watching yours this morning and quickly realized it wasn't nearly as good. Then, when you had to make your little dig about other RUclipsrs weighing less than 150lbs (clearly aimed at Brett) not being able to control recoil, I stopped and told YT to no longer recommend your channel. Here's a little secret for you TLD, you don't have to have man-boobs like the pair your sporting, to control recoil.
This is the one I am waiting for new all black ,crowned barrel , better slide cuts and new optic mounting system
😎👍
New to the channel, Brett, and just want to say have become a big fan of your work! As a company, very intrigued by what Bul Armory is doing and have decided to get the Axe Hatchet here in the coming months. I know you reviewed the Tomahawk, but would certainly love to hear your thoughts on how the non-ported version stacks up against the rest of the field. Thanks!
I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the channel! If the Hatchet is anything like the Tomahawk it will be incredible 👍 Even without ports, its feature set is great out of the box.
Man Brett, that thing shoots like an air soft! I hope they make multiple calibers. Gonna have to look at these!
Very loud airsoft! 😅👍
Man, I wish they would offer the EDC in 5 inch. Sounds silly, but I love the classic dust cover at the front of the slide. Lol
Bul stated at IWA, 2nd quarter release. I saw elsewhere (by Bul) a Sept/Oct release date.
Mid 2024 is the official statement I got.
Awesome video… I recently received my Tac Pro 5in and wondering what weight recoil spring are you running?
Factory 10lb with no weaponlight. 9lb with a weaponlight 👍
looks like very good value for the money...hoping staccato prices go down? one can hope.
That thing looks unreal man can wait to see it
It’s insane. You definitely have to shoot it! 😎👍
Having watched the ports vs comp video.... can you show on some paper how much jacket shedding the ports have in another video?
If I do a follow up video I’ll get another banana 😅👍
@@NightwoodGuns I second this motion.
Please and thank you.
I had to re-watch the Ports vs. Comps video. Now I am genuinely curious to hear your thoughts on this factory ported Pro model versus your previous assessment on that video.
FWIW, I still think ports and comps have no place on an EDC pistol. Less is more with few exceptions. IE - Optic, WML & spare mag.
_"KISS method is they key with EDC."_ *~B. Shackleford*
Speaking of ports. I hope you still have your S&W 586 L-Comp. Perhaps you could toss that into the fold to really shake things up! Sort of a Ports vs Comps 2.0 video. Especially now that there are more offerings on the market.
Stay classy my friend.
@@BertShackleford Just answered your question in your other comment but I’ll reiterate here for anyone who stumbles across this. I still don’t recommend ports for carry (not saying you can’t or shouldn’t, just that I personally don’t recommend it) If I were going to consider ports I’d test the gun I wanted to carry with my actual defensive ammo under a banana to see what kind of spalling I’m risking getting in my eyes in a less than ideal defensive shoot.
And yes, I still have the L-comp and I’ll be doing a full video on it. A Ports vs Comps 2.0 videos sounds like a good idea 👍
I got the tac 4.25 from the last drop and some of those features carried over like the black screws and the looks. The only thing they kept was the unfinished grip safety and the non crowned barrel but I'm the odd person I like the one that isn't flush. Only thing I wish they would have sent optic screws since the holosun were too long. If I didn't already have a bunch left I couldn't have mounted my red dot.
I do still love my previous TAC 👍 Interesting to hear how they phased the new changes in. And yeah, this optic system is so much better, my Holosun screws fit perfect.
I'm pretty hyped on this gun. I currently edc the previous version sas ii tac 5", but as the round count on her has gone up (currently at ~5500 rnds) I've been considering getting another one I can edc so my current gun can be a dedicated range gun, and I think this is gonna be it.
I think that’s a smart idea! 😎👍
Guys the preorder is now live!!!
Ordered!
Yep, I snagged a Tac Pro 5” this afternoon right when they dropped! The email notifications worked 😊
Congrats! 🙌 That’s awesome!
Sonny Boy, that’s a bunch of Bul! Because ya can’t get ‘em!
They’ll be dropping soon. Keep your eyes peeled 👀
Nice early review coup! Looking forward to likely purchasing one of these plus a Blaze. I love my 4.25 TAC and Air. Gonna get a Blaze to try by any chance? Do you know when they are going to be available? It's a shame about the rather substantial price jump but the added mags and optics system/plates pretty well justifies it.
I’m not sure if I’ll get a Blaze since my niche is more edc/self-defense pistols, but there will definitely be more Buls on the channel in the near future. I’ve heard rumblings of something that might be in the works that could be “dream gun” status 😳 We’ll see if it comes to fruition. As far as the new model availability, the official statement is “Mid 2024” but I’m thinking (pure speculation) they’ll start rolling out in the next couple of weeks so make sure you are on the list for whatever models you want 👍 You definitely get what you pay for with the new models.
@NightwoodGuns Groovy. Yeah, I noticed they updated their USA site to show the new models "coming soon" so I've put my name down on a few. 😉 A 5in non-ported TAC will be first priority, I think. A "dream gun" from Bul sounds pretty interesting since their line-up is well stacked already 🤔
😎👍
Thanks been waiting for your review on the new tac. Amazing review on I’m sure an amazing firearm. Hopefully by the time I’m ready to add this to my safe they will have enough stocks 😅
I’m glad you enjoyed the review! 👍
Woah that looks legit. Like a perfected stock Prodigy.

Love my 4.25, I'm going to have to get this ported 5. Bul makes an incredible gun, for half the price of Staccatto. I can deal with waiting for the email for availability.
Agreed 100% 👍
Still haven't seen one in the wild. I've seen more infinity's. It seems these are only available to gun tubers because it's the only place I've seen them.
They just had a massive drop a couple weeks ago. A lot of people were finally able to get them 👍
Are the bul armory mags are still proprietary to Bul armory?
I love how fast you can run that gun and the price but I’ve started out with the staccato and want the mag comparability.
Yep, proprietary mags. If you are already heavily invested in the 2011 mag ecosystem you’d be starting fresh with Bul.

Factory 10lb with no weaponlight. 9lb with a weaponlight 👍
I would be super interested to see the competition gun Bul Blaze as well
Me too! The 5" TAC PRO is my 1st choice. The new Blaze is my 2nd choice. I'm betting the Blaze shoots flatter than the V8 ported, but I'd like to see side by side review. Plus, the option to carry... The Blaze is better suited for the range & entry level competition, IMO. The TAC PRO, is more an all around gun. Well, as long as 5" carry is something you're willing to carry. Plus, the trigger weights are going to be about a 1 lb lighter in the Blaze. Again, maybe not the best for carry option, IMO.
I’d love to get my hands on a Blaze. But I’ve heard rumors of some other things in the works that are more up my alley. Hoping they come to fruition soon so I can share 😅👍
What was the price? Did I miss it? Thx
$2450. Bul Armory has updated their website as of today. "Coming Soon" is now listed with current pricing.@@ThePotandVineCo.
I like rumors... Especially concerning the Blaze... I'm caught between the 5" TAC PRO & the Blaze. There's 3 holes in the Blaze that I saw... Yep, Axis Elite for the XC. Fitment on mine is perfect.

Hey there one more question for you. Good sir. You were helping me the other day and then I didn’t hear anymore from you. I’m looking to purchase a Wilson Combat SFX9 with a 3.25 inch barrel I’m trying to decide between the Trijicon or CR, which the gun has the footprint for already, or NM pro acro P2, the place has a plate they could switch out that would fit the acro and they could put the acro on there without any issue. I don’t know which one would fit that gun better and what your advice would be, but I’m curious as I have not seen the RCR or messed with it much. Can you please get back to me as soon as possible
Hi there, sorry about that. YT stops sending me notifications of replies when conversations go on for a while. I still prefer the RCR. But if you are feeling impatient, the ACRO will get the job done 👍
Was going to go with MPA DS9 but I may have to rethink that
This gun made me rethink a lot of things 😅
Hey Brett, I really enjoy watching you rapid fire this gun, you make it look fun! Any opinion on sending out my SAS II TAC 4.25 for porting? If yes, which company? DSC, SW Precision..
Porting can (not always) slightly hurt accuracy and it can eject spalling if you plan on shooting from retention. Other than those negatives, its makes the gun shoot much softer. If you want it done, I'd go through DSC since they use a similar pattern to Bul.
@@NightwoodGuns definitely don’t plan on shooting from retention 🤞🏻
I figured those would be the main negatives, but I really value your knowledge and input so you’re the 1st one I thought to ask! Yes, DSC looks closest to BULs factory ports, just wish it wasn’t so pricey 😵
Thanks again Brett, God bless you sir!
Great review. Been keeping my eye out for availability. Also hoping to see someone review the 2024 models. Thank you!!! Also have my eye on the Platypus. @NightwoodGuns have you reviewed one of those yet?
I have about 3-4 weeks left on my Platypus lead time 👍
You convinced me.
It’s an impressive pistol 👍
if only you can find one lol. Always wanted a bul but always a struggle tracking them down
Just have to get on the “notify me” list on their US site 👍
Port everything!
If only Springfield made there full rail TRP in 9mm 12 years ago like we all asked them to do. What a missed opportunity. This would of been before all the double stack pew pews.
Exactly! 😂👍
The stippling is what originally popped out at me... I love the M&P Shield 9's texturing the most, is it roughly (pun intended) the same?
I’d say they are comparable. Different texture type, but same level of “aggressiveness” 👍
Really hope you can get your hands on ultralight pro. Would be good to know if ports help rise, but more important, do the factory ports shoot out debris or not? Thanks for the vids!
Badass shooting!! I wish Atlas sent you an apollo to run against that. Huge price difference. The XC is still sexy as Fk😂
That would be awesome! And yes, the XC is still 10/10 👍
Nice review! what brand of outdoor glasses do you have in the video?
The multiple optics plates that it comes with are nice but I don’t think anyone could beat the Springfield echelon mounting system. It is completely universal
Yeah, Springfield did a great job with that system. Do you think that cut would work on a thinner 1911 slide? 🤔
In a COF last week and friend blew his optic off his Echelon. Luckily we found the pins.
@@toddtzm Yikes! 😅
Stop me if you've heard this one before;
"Recontoured grips, flared magwell for easier reloads. And I know you'll appreciate the custom porting." :P
Wait a minute, I said this on your channel once :P
Great reference as always! 😂👍
@@NightwoodGuns ;)
Great review.
So how do you compare the Porting system vs the comp specifically in terms of:
1. Which keeps the gun flatter?
2. Concerns over gasses coming up in low light conditions (one better than the other?)
3. Any issues with metal/lead fragments with Bul’s porting system in the event you would have to shoot this gun in close quarters (unlikely I know, given its use case) ?
4. Ease of maintenance - I’m assuming the comp would be a bit higher maintenance.
I REALLY want a XC, but Bul is making me re think my choice
Flatter? Too close to call. Gasses/flash? Ports are slightly worse, but Sage Dynamics debunked that concern. Frag from the ports? Absolutely, protect your eyes at retention. Maintenance? Ports are the clear winner. I dread the day I have to clean my XC comp. Everything is a trade off. It just depends on your intended use.

Awesome -thank you ! Use case would be all everything gun - but mostly range for fun and to continue to get better with my skills. Having said that, it would be nice to know it serve every purpose.
It’s interesting that Bul armory is marketing this gun as competition meets duty use.
Is Sage dynamics the company Bul used for these V8 ports to minimize the risk of fragments while maximize performance ?
I’m definitely getting one of these 2 guns - I’ve now got something more to think about. I’ll get a chance to shoot the XC and C2 in about 3 weeks, but I don’t know anyone who has a Bul Tac model with the ports.
@@SigAXG320 Just know that if you ever want to take a defensive pistol class, many instructors have banned ports due to the occasional spalling. So for a “do everything” pistol that is something to consider.
Sage Dynamics is a phenomenal gun channel that reviews gear. Definitely check out his videos on ports 👍
You can’t go wrong either way. Bul and Staccato are at the top of the heap for “do everything” pistols in this category.
Awesome review man thank you, in your slow mo it looked flatter than the XC
Might have been! I’d say it was imperceptible behind the trigger, but rewatching it I see what you mean 👍
My best options are the Platypus and the Oracle 2311 for this type of gun, because of the state I live in. Outside of that, I think the Legion Precision Chiraq is quite nice.
I just have a few weeks left on my Platypus lead time 👀
@@NightwoodGuns very nice 👍🏾
@@Q.Lawrence 😎👍
I just wish the Edc Pro would come in 120mm mag length. Ended up picking up a ported Staccato c2 for $2000
Yeah, that would be awesome. Congrats on the C2! 😎👍
Bul dropped this today around noon or so Eastern. I got the email within 45 min or so. It sold out as I loaded one screen to the other :'😢
I went ahead and ordered a standard Tac 5. Hope it turns out okay. Looks like literally all the reviews were of this ported model lol 😂 No feedback on the regular 5"? Oh well. I guess I'll blaze my own trail haha!
Super lucky that you got one at all! Congrats! 😎👍
The 4.25” and 5” TAC (not pro) models are still in stock right now.
@@NightwoodGuns appreciate all the reviews Bret! This will be my first 2011. I went into uncomfortable credit card territory, but I just picked up a 3rd job within the last 8 weeks, so.... oh well. Now...can I still get into the Tim Herron class in my area at the beginning of July...hmmmm....????
@@Copenhagen848 Yeah, the 4.25 Pro was still in stock when I ordered, but I wasn't convinced that the ported barrel was for me. I'm gonna carry it and use it in USPSA/IDPA. I'm also kinda married to my Floodlight holster and x300. Meh. If I love it enough, I'll find a way to aquire a ported model 😆
It's damn cool, looks like there's no recoil
Truly an impressive pistol 👍
Ported or non ported for CCW?! What are your thoughts
Blanket statement: no ports. Spalling and jacket can shred your eyeballs if shooting from retention. My personal opinion: ports are fine just train, train, train canting that pistol HARD when shooting from retention. You need it to be muscle memory if the situation ever arises.
Thanks for your reply. I know canting will work well for top inline ports. Does it work well for v8 ports as well? Not sure if you have tried this? Spalling is very dangerous I agree. I wish it wasn’t an issue and it would be a pretty easy answer. Only issue is if you’re shooting from retention and cant and then shoot and you spall someone else’s eyeballs who knows the legal trouble you will be in then. Thanks for all your hard work and content you upload.
Hello Brett damn bruh you struck my curiosity now you have my attention... This will be in the collection. The recoil seems very manageable and a damn flat shooter. Do you know the difference between the standard Tac and the Pro Tac? Nicely done video bruh..! 😎
Glad you enjoyed the vid. This gun is an absolutely rockstar. The only difference between the standard and the Pro is that the Pro has the ported barrel. The standard has no ports. 😎👍
@@NightwoodGuns Thanks bruh... Do you know where I can get lighter recoil springs for the Tisas 4.25 DS pistols? 😎
Great content, Brett! Did they give you any idea when these might be available?
Mid 2024 is the official statement. My pure speculation is that they’ll start rolling out drops in the next couple of weeks.
Good review! I suggest you try to get your hands on Legion Precision. Seems a step up over Staccato XC
They look awesome! 👍
Dang I really enjoyed the the 2 tone unfinished stainless!
It did look pretty cool. But the all black is definitely more “practical”
