Manny speaks again!! Love you Manny. Such a great idea Sherill. My daughter and I like donating pet beds/blankets/toys, etc. Think this rag quilt would be a good sturdy addition for sad little pups and kits. Thank you!
This looks so much easier than cutting individual strips of all the fabrics! To save a ton of lint in your dryer filter, I would suggest that you brush the snipped seams with a dry scrub brush before washing. It is messy, but really helps to fluff the seams and reduce lint. Really enjoyed this video!
Your quilt is very cute. Several years ago I made a fringe blanket for my daughter for Christmas. I bought the fringing scissors and spent about 2 weeks clipping all those little fringes for the blanket. My daughter loved the blanket but I swore I'd never make another one.
Thanks, Sherrill! With so many quilters and sewists posting videos on RUclips, it's a breath of fresh air to see something that not everyone is doing for a change. Could you perhaps post a video of sewing mistakes you've made over the years and what you've learned by them or what you did to correct them? It would be very helpful to learn what not to do. Sometimes the best lessons are learned by making mistakes. :-) Thanks so much for all your wonderful videos!
This has to be one of the cutest quilts ever! I can’t wait to make one! Thank you so much for this detailed tutorial! I love your channel so very much. You have wonderful projects 🙏🏻💖
Years ago, I made a denim rag quilt using old jeans. I cut squares, which made it harder to do. I wish I’d thought to use strips. I’m not a quilter, so I guess I don’t think that way. We used that quilt all through my children’s high school sports, and it resides in my trunk in case of an emergency (like a flat tire). I’ve also used it in a heat emergency: someone didn’t wear warm-enough clothes.

Hi Jeannette. Thanks for the tip. Happy holidays. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
Great video. I’ve only made one rag quilt and it was 7” inches squares. This technique seems so much easier. Thank you.
