Bucharest is Beautiful, clean and impressive and a must see. For a country that is ranked as one of the poorest in Europe I am surprised to see how beautiful and affluent looking Bucharest is. BTW- I liked the sign "Used Beer Department" for the rest rooms. That was cute! Thanks for bringing the best of Bucharest. Cheers!
Romanian economy after GDP is 13 in European Union . You can get the information from Wikipedia. 😉 So , Romania is not one of the poorest country , even European Union. 😉 Romanian economy is at the middle of the top in European Union . 😉 And you make a difference , between Europe and European Union . There are many countries in Europe , but only 27 are in the select club of European Union 🇪🇺, - inclusive Romania. 😉
Not one of the Poorest in Europe by far. There are 12 other countries that are the poorest and that's just a misconception. Romania's economy is quite high and 13th in European Union 28th out of 45 countries on the European continent.
There are more Ferrari-s in Bucharest than in Monaco - where I live- 😆 there’s a lot of cash moving around in Eastern Europe, all Romanians I know who run their companies declare the minimum wage on paper, “wealthy”doesn’t mean brainwashed idiots like Danish who pay 80% in tax and dress second-hand or use bicycles instead of cars! Actually, I travel all over the world &lived in 6 countries by now and the most luxurious European capital is Moscow (or it was), definitely not Paris. “Wealthy”means what’s on the street, not the amount of tax payed or the income on paper!
I really enjoy your videos. Do you research what you set out to see and explore each day or do you just wander the streets and stop at something of interest? You seem to see a lot of really great locations - just wondered how you find them. Thank you for your videos!
When I was in Bucharest in 2019, I was told that the Palace of Parliament is the second largest government building in the world, second to only the Pentagon in Washington DC. Could be true. But that is an amazing and beautiful building. There was also a citizen uprising to end communism in the plaza where you are standing. Fascinating country. Enjoy!
The history here is pretty amazing. It is really something that it was only a little over 30 years ago that the uprising happened. Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!!🍻

Hi, Dan. We were very much surprised by Bucharest. We had a couple conversations with a local that was excited about her future. She understands how much more has to be done but thinks the new generation of young adults will stay in Romania and move the country forward. The last 30-plus years are fascinating history! Thank you for the comments! Cheers!!!🍻

Beer looks awesome . Be very careful with the Plum Brandy , it comes is various qualities and is often home made , tastes awesome but is lethal if you have too much .
I would really recommend Piatra Neamt (my hometown :) ) and the monasterys around ( Manastiri din judetul Neamt ) If you have time, hike Ceahlau Mountain, it is amazing. Have a great time and keep the good work !

Hi guys nice little virtual tour. Maybe if you got time you can go see Herastrau park, Muzeul Antipa and Calea Victoriei. A quick fact about Bucharest, there are a lot and I mean a lot of parks in the city.
Hi, Celestin. We usually stay in each location for a month but we only scheduled 4 days in Bucharest. After we had a chance to explore the city we really wish we had made more time. Hopefully, we represented your city well. We are now in Brasov and find Romania to be an amazing country. Thank you for watching and thank you for the insights!! Cheers!!!🍻

@@BrianandCarrie hi guys! I don't know quite well, but Romania is not in the Schengen zone, so i don't know if you need to leave so soon. Like you can go in the Schengen zone, but then there's countries like Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia that are not in the zone and maybe the rules are a little bit different.
Correct Andrei. We had to leave the Schengen area and decided to come to Romania before heading to Croatia. We already have our Airbnb booked in Croatia for October. Romania allows 90 days for those of us with US passports. Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!!🍻
Hey guys! It is funny that you mentioned about the music for the fountains. They actually do have shows with music and lights on Saturday and Sunday, from 9pm until 10-11pm, during summer, and from 8pm in September. Hope you will see it if you come back to Bucharest. Have fun!
Thank you!! This is something that we have been told now many times!😆😆We wish we knew while we were there but we missed it! Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!!🍻
My favorite places in Bucharest are some museums and some parks. The Art Museum from the Royal Palace, the interior of the Athenaeum building, the History Museum which has a replica of Trajan's Column and the historical treasure, and the Zambaccian Museum, You should have visited some villa districts, such as the Dorobanti district, but someone explains the architecturally significant buildings. The Cismigiu parks in the center and Herastreau were interesting, but I don't know if 2 years ago they were set up properly, there were problems with the budget, after the pandemic and after what a former mayor spent. Cismigiu is built in the 19th-century style, and Herastrau is large. Only in a big city can you find important museums and parks.
You haven’t been to Romania if you don’t eat mamaliga . Growing up my favourite food was Pomana Porcului with Mamaliga. Which is pork stew with corn meal and tastes out of this world !
@@BrianandCarrie You will love it. Hopefully you like Garlic it’s a lot of garlic. I recommend for desert Papanasi Cu Branza Romania Donut with Cheese , cream and berry jam. It’s served hot. Also my favourite desert. It’s a big donut so recommended to share.

FYI, those fountains from Parliament do have lights, but they're only turned on at night. And, on some occasions, there are water shows with music. So, we've already thought about that stuff. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Much love from Romania :)
Yes!! We had many comments about that after we released the video. 😅 We should have done a little research on that before making the comment. Or at least go out after dark and find out. Thank you for watching Cristian! Cheers!!!🍻
We really wish we had known that!! We would have walked the 10 minutes from our Airbnb to see it! We are so disappointed we missed it! Thank you for the insight!! Such a beautiful city!! Cheers!!!🍻
In Bucharest, most tourists get stuck in the old centre and dont venture out into the "little paris" what was missed, was the Victoria High-Street.. which is the high street of Romania basically and goes for 1 mile and is a wander.. it ends up in Victoria square, where you can make your way on the King Michael park.. which is a better park than Hyde park in London.. and you even have there a village museum.. so you can see the whole of romania without even getting outside city limits Then the pearl of Bucharest is the Therme Spa... largest in europe... its on Dubai level.. and its big as a shopping mall!
Please, come and visit the city of Iasi. It is a very beautiful city, and it is the second most populous city in Romania. Here you can visit the National Theatre, which was chosen by the BBC as one of the most beautiful theaters in the world. You can also visit the Palace of Culture, which is one of the most beautiful and old buildings in Romania.

Hi Philipp! We asked our Uber driver that very question when we arrived and he explained that daily life is normal and any Ukrainians that came across have either settled in or moved on to western Europe. We have seen no impact at all. Good question, thank you! Cheers!!!🍻
Yes, there are several free walking tours. We did not go on any but we have friends that were in Bucharest for a month and said that they are a must. We just didn't have enough time. Cheers!!!🍻
Depending on where we are we will typically get 6 to 8 miles a day. Walking is our main source of exercise so there are times that we could take a bus or taxi but choose not to.

I have been to a lot of the places you have been so far - Spain, Portugal, Greece, Montenegro etc and seeing this video about Bucharest has made me want to go there as you look for similar things to me and my family. I enjoy watching all of your videos. Keep up the good work and hopefully you will get even more subscribers

@@BrianandCarrie I have been watching since close to the start of your travels and you can see how you have both put a lot of thought about developing the content and they have become more polished. They were always informative. I am off to Italy in.10 days time. Going to the Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany regions. Have been to Alicante and Albufeira this year. I think we will look at Bucharest for next year.
Thank you, Bruce, that's nice to hear and encouraging! Most importantly we want to be informative. thank you again for the support! Maybe someday we will cross paths. 🍻
I love Bucharest!
So do we!!! 😀
Beautiful city! Glad you finally found some beers that are on par with the amazing beers to be found here in the Pacific NW, McMenamins being my favorite for some of the best IPAs! Enjoy your time, can't wait to see the rest of your travels throughout Romania! Curious, why a hotel vs Airbnb?
PNW has great beer from Bend to Bellingham! McMenamins is a great beer!! We were only in Bucharest for 4 nights and we arrived at 1:00 AM so decided it would be easier than an Airbnb. As always, thank you for watching!
Cheers!!!🍻
On those fountains to see music & lights go in the weekend after between 21: 00 & 22: 00 and you will see the most spectacular show with lights& music and fountains move acording to the music! Hello from Bucharest! 🥰🥰

Cheers!
Hi, CM! It definitely exceeded our expectations. Very clean and the beer is really good!!!!
Cheers!!!🍻
Romanian economy after GDP is 13 in European Union . You can get the information from Wikipedia. 😉 So , Romania is not one of the poorest country , even European Union. 😉 Romanian economy is at the middle of the top in European Union . 😉
And you make a difference , between Europe and European Union .
We research by using Google. Thank you for watching!!

Cheers!!!🍻
We need to rise up again to the global totalitarianism we see today …
@@BrianandCarrie Romania became European Union member in 2007 (1st January, official date) and NATO member since 2004... actually with 2007 Romania start to go pro-West in all aspects, keeping also our traditions, it's pro-West mindset country ,in developing to be "westernised" , remember, until 1990 Romania was a Soviet satellite country... in the incoming 20 years ,Bucharest will be full of "skyscrapers" , already started this in "Pipera" ,neighborhood of Bucharest ruclips.net/video/YLRORYJ296k/видео.html
The palace of the Parlament is ugly let's be honest, it belongs in Pyongyang
And yes it is as big as they say
Fun fact, it has more floors underground than above ground
Hi, Dan. We were very much surprised by Bucharest. We had a couple conversations with a local that was excited about her future. She understands how much more has to be done but thinks the new generation of young adults will stay in Romania and move the country forward. The last 30-plus years are fascinating history! Thank you for the comments!

Thank you for the tips!! Being we have a US passport and needing to get out of the Schengen area every 90 days we are sure we will be back!

Hey guys! It is funny that you mentioned about the music for the fountains. They actually do have shows with music and lights on Saturday and Sunday, from 9pm until 10-11pm, during summer, and from 8pm in September. Hope you will see it if you come back to Bucharest. Have fun!

We will be looking for this on a menu soon!! Thank you!!

@@BrianandCarrie THANK YOU YOUR COUNTRY IS OLSO BEAUTIFUL MUCH BLESSINGS 🇺🇸
In Bucharest, most tourists get stuck in the old centre and dont venture out into the "little paris"
what was missed, was the Victoria High-Street.. which is the high street of Romania basically and goes for 1 mile and is a wander.. it ends up in Victoria square, where you can make your way on the King Michael park.. which is a better park than Hyde park in London.. and you even have there a village museum.. so you can see the whole of romania without even getting outside city limits
Then the pearl of Bucharest is the Therme Spa... largest in europe... its on Dubai level.. and its big as a shopping mall!
Thank you for the information on other points of interest! This can be very helpful for anyone that may be going in the future!!

How is the situation because of the war going on in neighboring Ukraine? Any impact on daily life in Romania that you’ve come across so far?
