Nice to see you guys are enjoying Brasov! I anticipate a Bran castle video in the near future, since you're in the area. Oh, by the way, the Westmalle you had at some point in the video is my favorite beer of all time. It's Belgian and, when I visited Brussels, I just couldn't get enough of it. It was 1 euro if you bought it in a store there, while here it goes up to over 4 euros at the supermarket.

I'm so glad you're enjoying our country. It's a joy to see you explore it. Kinda funny how you stumbled on "Tipografia" when it is a word in English already "Typography"
It's pronounced Bra-shov (like show, but ending in V) .. or also called Kronstadt, but it's alright, thanks for the video! I'm glad you liked my hometown 😊👍 The black church also has an amazing history and organ concert nights are held on a weekly basis. Would have been nice for you guys to attend one of these concerts, but maybe next time when you'll return 😉
Keep bringing the heat guys! Loved that theater (or was that a Thee-AYYY-tor 🤣🤣🤣🤣) ... Good to see Brian keeping those calves worked on the stairs 🤙🤙 All the best guys!
The only part about our journey is we don't have a car and we miss out on some things. Some day we may be able to rent one and explore a bit more. Thank you for all your contributions to the channel Nina! We really appriciat it! Cheers to you!!🍻
In Romania the medium income is around 8500 USD /per year after taxes so at 2 USD per beer is not that fun for locals. One gallon of gasoline is around 4 USD which is outrageous at 8500 a year. Romania is cheap for western tourist but not for regular Romanians
You should go to Turda salt mine it's beside Cluj Napoca the biggest city in Transilvania you can see Turda gorge witch is 20 minute drive from the salt mine and well worthed, Oradea is also a beautiful city I say the city center is the best in Romania (for me anyway 😁)and there are some thermal water pools there aswell, and for pure traditional stuff Maramureș would be the best.
We will be in Cluj-Napoca in a couple weeks and plan on going to Turda. We will be heading to Oradea after Cluj-Napoca and are very excited about that! Thank you for the tips and for watching our channel!! Cheers!!!🍻
This is my native town and even if now I live in the suburbs I still think it’s the most beautiful town of Romania..you missed a few spots to see but that is a good reason to come back one day.. the walk up to the cabin was probably made to make us lose some weight after lunch/beer/ice cream 😂..you saw most of the things or restaurants/pubs I would have recommended so you definitely got the best of the town in a short time.. and yes 👍 for top gun .. it’s a must see especially if you remember the first one 😇.. enjoy the rest of the country and as you already saw so far it’s a very safe country even though outside it’s not always seen like that..
We had such a great time! We won't be able to see all of what Romania has to offer so we will most definitely be back someday! And yes, we do need to walk as much as we do to burn those added calories! Thank you for watching, you have an amazing country! Cheers!!!🍻
The Black Church was built by the German comunity of the city, Transylvanian Saxons were very present in this area in the past. Prince Charles owns a guesthouse in Brasov County a nice rural area village called Viscri. Sighisoara is also a nice medieval city.
Unfortunately, we won't make it in that direction this time around. We are heading west. Thank you for the suggestions and for watching our channel! Cheers!!🍻

Yes, I used to sell beer and wine for a living and Westmalle was a part of my portfolio. Trappist beers are incredible. We were also pleasantly surprised with the craft beer in Romania. Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers 🍻
The great thing about Romania is if you are American or any kind of Anglophone you can go anywhere to the movies, because we don't dub, predominantly we use subtitles. It's always been that way, both in cinema and on TV which is one of the reasons my generation (millennials) grew up learning English from the TV. :) The one exception today are kids movies and cartoons which are dubbed, but usually big releases like Disney and Pixar titles have screenings in the original EN version as well. :)
Hi, Diana! One of our most asked questions, wherever we go, is "do they speak English?" It always amazes us that Europeans can speak English rather well. We try to learn some basic terminology but moving around as much as we do can be difficult. Thank you for the comments and for watching our channel!! Cheers!!!🍻
Thank you, Lupu! I think we have tried all but Stejar! We will be in Cluj-Napoca and a couple weeks and Salina Turda is on our list. Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!!🍻
So maybe a bit of comment on why the outside walls towers were almost the same but had different names: between 1448-1453 when the City got the line of defense strengthened with 8 bastions , 4 fortified gates and 28- 32 towers. The towers were called powder towers, but at the same time the got a “second” name as did the bastions. The second name was given in relation to the craft guilds that were assigned to ensure readiness and defense for the respective tower/ bastion. That’s why you can see names like Hunters Tower or Carpenters Tower. Black and White Tower were actually observation towers. Also did you know the the very first Romanian School that actually used Romanian language to teach is also in Brasov? And it was founded in 1583 placed on the grounds of St. Nicholas Curch. Just 10 min walking distance for the old town market square. Excellent video!!!
Great information, thank you so much for adding this to the channel!! And thank you for the "Excellent video" comment. We are always interested in getting feedback from people that live in the areas we visit. Thank you so much!! Cheers!!!🍻
We are in Sibiu now and heading to Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and then Timisoara. We do plan on going to Salina Turda as well. We won't make it to Danube Delta this time. Thank you for the suggestions and for watching our channel!!! Cheers!!!🍻
Romania was the home of my family. Most of the extended family was murdered by the Germans and their Romanian Allies. While I admire all the time and insights you gave about your time in Romania, unless I missed it, I never heard of any Jewish Synagogue, monument to the hundreds of thousands of Jews murdered by the Romanians/Germans, nor the ghettos for Jews in the country. To me, Romania has never come to terms with its long history of Jewish hatred but I guess it’s a mute point now as the Jewish community was decimated.
I never knew Brasov is such beautiful town!! Great information provided by you❤!! Is it easy to communicate between Bhukherest and Budapest by train or air?!
Thank you, Daniel. We have had that suggestion now a couple of times and unfortunately, we are heading west. Loving Romania as much as we do we will be back soon enough. Thank you for watching and the suggestion! Cheers!!!🍻
Come to Romania 🇷🇴 we speak English very well and everywhere! In fact romanians spoke or understand less 4-5 latin languages because we are latin people ! Young generation spoke English very good!
Kwak beer had a traditional rule in Belgium . If you ordered Kwak , the bar tender would ask for your left shoe and hang it on the coat rack . Reason being , if you attempted to leave the bar without taking your shoe back , the bar tender knows you need a taxi ! 🤣🤣 I used to waiter at a Belgian restaurant that had 200 beers . Belgo's who owned the " IVY " . Great video , Brasov looks amazing , would you say it's somewhat higher priced than other Romanian cities ? $4:15 for pastry seems very high in price . I look forward to the next installment. Try a restaurant 3 miles out of town maybe , in a hood . Fed , full & tipsy for $15 total price I reckon .😀 Cheers
That is a great Kwak story!!! Love it!! That pastry was overpriced for sure but it was in the middle of the old town and a touristy thing to do. 🙄 The restaurant we went to was out of the tourist area and very local and much less expensive. Fed, full & tipsy. Overall we would say Brasov was very affordable. Great town! Thanks for watching! Kwak cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Truth is that Kurtos-colacs is a cake like dough grilled over charcoals. The usual process needs a lot of work and making it costs more than regular pastries and is mostly served on fairs, parks or city centers. The price varies from 3-5 $. For travel advices, you should not miss Sighisoara and Old town in Sibiu which are superb. And definitely the Transfagarasan is mesmerizing.

Hi, Jack. Yes, we stayed a little over two weeks. This will be our first time traveling this way so we will see how things go. We will be in each place 1 to 2 weeks at a time and only booking out a month, so, we still have to find accommodations in our final two locations in mid-August. Fingers crossed that we find something we like. Thank you so much for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
Hey Brian and Carrie, I found you as we are travelling to Romania from the UK in September this year. We are hoping to do some kind of bear watching / wildlife experience when we get to Brasov. I’m wondering if you are planning anything similar and if there are any tour companies you recommend? Thanks! Love your Romania vids
So glad you found us!! We are not planning anything like that, however, we did ask our waiter one day what we could do that most tourists don't. He recommended Seven Ladders Canyon a few miles out of town. He said you can also do something like what you are asking about but we never looked into it. Not much help, unfortunately, sorry. 😔

Hi guys! Wow, Brasov is our favorite place you've visited so far! Is there a big expat area there? The cost of living seems relatively low compared to other parts of Europe, although assuming the winters there can be cold and snowy, which would be the only drawback. Do most people speak English there? Off topic, what kind of editing software do you use? Great job as always! Enjoy!
Hey guys! Brasov is very near the top of our list as well. We had such a great time and it is very affordable. The winters do get cold but there is a ski resort very close by if that is your thing. English is very well spoken because it is a bit touristy, we didn't really notice much of an ex-pat community. As far as editing software we use Premiere Pro. We would recommend playing with the free version now before you start your channel!! Thanks as always for watching! Cheers!!!🍻

Booked a 7 week stay, a block off from Old Town. Which app did you use to book your train ride?
Hope you are still enjoying your travels!

Brasov my city….top level
We love Brasov!! ❤️❤️
I'm so glad you're enjoying our country. It's a joy to see you explore it.
Kinda funny how you stumbled on "Tipografia" when it is a word in English already "Typography"
Your country is amazing, we are really enjoying our time here! Thank you for following along!
I stumble on a lot of words!! 😆
Cheers!!!🍻
It's pronounced Bra-shov (like show, but ending in V) .. or also called Kronstadt, but it's alright, thanks for the video! I'm glad you liked my hometown 😊👍
The black church also has an amazing history and organ concert nights are held on a weekly basis.
HAHA! Yes, there seem to be stairs everywhere!! And as far as heat, it's 97 today!! Thanks for watching guys' safe travels in Asia!!
Cheers!!!🍻
Wonderful! You are doing the presentations like professionals. Short and concise! Very well done and…funny!
Thank you, Constantin! Brasov is a wonderful place. Thank you for watching.
Cheers!!!🍻
You can also drive up to Balea Lake on Transfagarasan road, for a breathtaking view.
The only part about our journey is we don't have a car and we miss out on some things. Some day we may be able to rent one and explore a bit more. Thank you for all your contributions to the channel Nina! We really appriciat it!
Cheers to you!!🍻
I know that is a bus for this road too
Great prices on the meals with beer. That same meal here in FLorida with the beers would be $100. Seriously. Beautiful City.
The cost of living in the US is out of control!!
@@BrianandCarrie totally agree. We will be leaving USA in 16 months.
Cheers!!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie I would advise you to visit Felix when you get to Oradea ..
Prep your swim suits ... and appetite for... you know!😅🍺
Thanks for the tips, Ciprian! We will check it out!! 😀
Cheers!!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie You are very welcome!
Cheers!🍻
Cheers!!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie 🥰🤗
The Black Church was built by the German comunity of the city, Transylvanian Saxons were very present in this area in the past.
Prince Charles owns a guesthouse in Brasov County a nice rural area village called Viscri.
Sighisoara is also a nice medieval city.
Great information Nina!! Thank you!
You should visit also the Moldavian part of Romania, Iasi, Piatra Neamț , transfagarasan
Unfortunately, we won't make it in that direction this time around. We are heading west. Thank you for the suggestions and for watching our channel!
Cheers!!🍻
You guys are beer lovers like myself, go to Budapest! Best beer scene in Europe!
Home, sweet home. I missed you.
THAT IS THE COOLEST GLASS HAND WOOD THINGY!
Yes! First I had seen it as well! Very cool!
@@BrianandCarrie I can't believe it , in Brasov restaurant? When my husband bought two of these rustic beer glasses I said " So cool vases! and my husband said " So cool beer glasses " !so each of us is happy 😀 3$ each North America; beautiful city, delicious food ! Welcome to Romania " a dynamic country rich in history, arts and scenic beauty " ! Enjoy! ❤💛💙
Thank you, Cris! I guess the BEER glasses could be used as vases but they do make pretty cool beer mugs!!😀Thank you for watching and welcoming us to Romania!

Awesome work guys!
Thank you! Your Poland series was fantastic!!

Westmalle and Kwak are actually Belgian beers! Good choice for sure. But Romania surely does have very good craft beers aswell!
Yes, I used to sell beer and wine for a living and Westmalle was a part of my portfolio. Trappist beers are incredible. We were also pleasantly surprised with the craft beer in Romania. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Cheers 🍻
Ceasul Rau is next to my mom home…miss that place
Beautiful Country ♥
Cheers!!!🍻
Yepp, I can confirm I also learned English initially from Cartoon Network 😀
🤣😅
You guys are getting good at this!
Thanks, Ben! Self-evaluation and listening to the critics. 😆Thank you for watching!!

You both are so fun! Thanks for the videos.
Thank you, Noelle! We are loving Romania!
Try the following beer: Timisoreana, Ursus Black, Stejar and Silva Blonde/Black. PS: don’t miss Cluj-Napoca and Salina Turda
Thank you, Lupu! I think we have tried all but Stejar! We will be in Cluj-Napoca and a couple weeks and Salina Turda is on our list. Thank you for watching!!

You have to see Salina Turda, its impressive. Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, the Black Sea, Carphatian Mountains and the Danube Delta would also be interesting.
We are in Sibiu now and heading to Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and then Timisoara. We do plan on going to Salina Turda as well. We won't make it to Danube Delta this time. Thank you for the suggestions and for watching our channel!!!

Great video 👌

Romania was the home of my family. Most of the extended family was murdered by the Germans and their Romanian Allies. While I admire all the time and insights you gave about your time in Romania, unless I missed it, I never heard of any Jewish Synagogue, monument to the hundreds of thousands of Jews murdered by the Romanians/Germans, nor the ghettos for Jews in the country. To me,
Romania has never come to terms with its long history of Jewish hatred but I guess it’s a mute point now as the Jewish community was decimated.
I never knew Brasov is such beautiful town!! Great information provided by you❤!! Is it easy to communicate between Bhukherest and Budapest by train or air?!
Brasov is one of our favorite places in Romania!!
Yiu can try to visit busteni too,it's so closer from Brasov.I was in my holiday in Brasov last week and in Busteni too.
This sounds great Violeta! We are in Sibiu now and finding it amazing as well! There are so many places to see and we have so little time!😔
Hello guys, good job, consider to visit the town Iasi from Roamania .You can check this town on youtube. Love !!!!

You should visit Oradea 😄
We did and loved it! We have a video on it as well.

The kurtos you ate it's translated to chimney cake... or at least that's how they named it in the UK.

Hi, Are you staying there multiple nights? You said you were in Romania for 2 months. Tell us how you are doing your Airbnbs when you move around so much? Thank you. We so enjoy watching your adventure and getting ideas for ours!

@@BrianandCarrie no, that’s very helpful - thank you! I’m getting so excited now watching your videos and Instagram. Thank you for the content! Happy travels ☺️

Cheers!!!🍻
Brasov is expensive to live.
I like to see that the Belgian beers are available and enjoyed in Romania…
