Hi, this particular effect was just a VST plugin called Guitar Rig. No pedals. If I remember correctly, the bulk of this sound came from an effect in Guitar Rig called 'TALK WAH' which simulates the sound of one of those talk boxes (living on a prayer) if you can find a talk box simulator, That's a good start 👍

+ted teddy I do cheat though. I use software to slow the music down and repeat certain parts. u should try it. it's a good bit of practice for your ears

it's a phaser. it's changes the shape of the waveform in real time giving that alien like sound. also they call it talk box effect.
