I get you mate, H6 is that bit more expensive, which makes Jolion very attractive. Just be aware of the lane-keep assist system which can be very invasive. More about that on the next video.

Interesting when seeing all these comments, I felt like my H6 Ultra hybrid barely even has lane assist with it on normal, thinking about cranking it to the maximum sensitivity. I have a 2020 h6 with 65000km. No issues so far. Change oil and filter as recommended. Rides OK. It's no offroad 4x4. I bought for the DCT as most newer cars are CVT. for the price, it's been a good car.
Hey Dimitri. Found you videos and really love and appreciate your honesty and approach to staying as unbiased as possible! Either way triple thumbs up for your videos! Thank you in advance if you get the chance to reply!
Hey, thanks for your interest and the words of support. I am running several fuel consumption tests and will report my findings soon. In short - so far it looks better than what I was getting in MG HS, but it's definitely not super economical, if that's a concern for you. Hard to be super efficient with a 2 litre turbo petrol engine in the city. 🤷♂️
Thank you very much Dimitri, your reviews have helped us to buy a H6 Hybrid. Our concern was always quality and your honest opinions have helped allay our fears. 😊

We have a Haval Jolion Ultra 2022 model. We purchased it new last May. It currently has 8000 Kms on it now. Our personal opinion of the car is pure awesome. We upgraded from a 2016 Mitsubishi ASX to the Haval and honestly think the build quality. ride, performance, comfort and pricing of this vehicle beats the ASX hands down. We bought the ASX new as well, and had rattles and squeaks, random CVT Transmission jerks from day one. People needf to realise that Haval are going to dominate the SUV market. Totally agree with your opion on the DCT Transmission. Works so well with the Jolly's 1.5T powertrain. Keep up the good work Dimitri. Enjoying your videos.

Hi Dimitri, nice video. I have booked Haval H6 Ultra (Petrol version) and soon I will be getting one. The car is wonderful, did you feel any discomfort with the seating position? my family loves the car but I am having some difficulty during the test drive mainly because the driver seat is small. If yes, do you have a solution because I have contacted the Haval customer care team and they are not willing to provide a solution because the seats are made as per the standard. Appreciate if you could advise something based on your experience with Haval H6, thanks.
Hello mate, thanks for commenting and your interest. I heard that larger frame people have been complaining about H6 seat cushions but it feels comfortable and completely normal for my 175 cm height. You feel what you feel though, it's not like something I could advise on - if you are not comfortable, it is what it is and I'd recommend that you look at your other options in the same price category. Test drive is king. Go drive the car and see how you feel after spending more than 2 min sitting in the car at the dealership, would be the best advice I can offer.

Hey Dimitri, what's you take on the cruise control it breaking hard on its own when passing through a mild bend / curve. Fee people have left reviews and made complaints on other online platforms. Also, how good is the Bluetooth connection for the phone can people hear us clearly ? I am planning to buy one so asking these questions. Thanks in advance
Hey mate I actually don't use cruise control (pretty much at all) so still can't comment on that but heard a lot of complaints from many Haval drivers, so we pretty much know it's true and it's a yet another ELK think that GWM keeps ignoring and it annoys me.
U can turn that feature off in intelligent driving menu, I think it’s called bend assist or something. Keep digging the menu, I turned mine off and it won’t brake for me around the corners on the 120km hwy.
Hi! Have you figured out a way to keep the music running while engine is off? It eventually turns off and wondered if i have to keep pressing unlock to restart screen...
No idea as frankly this feature is of zero interest to me. Maybe someone else will reply who cares about keeping music on. I suspect it's not possible as this will just drain your battery when engine is off. Why would anyone do that?
@@ValueCarsAU If you don't know, just say you dont know. 🤦♀️ All that extra stuff is unnecessary. Sometimes when ppl are picking up their kids, they might want to sit and listen to the radio while waiting for them for a while.
Hi Dimitri. Here is another Video i think you will be very interested in. Its a tear-down of Haval H6 at 100,000 kms. Done by the Chinese with subtitles. Here Is the link. ruclips.net/video/El6Z6dao4iI/видео.html
Test driven most of the mid sized SUVs, from my limited experience, h6 drives better than cx5, last gen xtrail, forester, on par with outlander, worse than rav4, tiguan
What do MG owners think of the CVT transmission in the ZST Vibe? My one is new and driving from a full stop it is dangerously slow no matter how far you press the accelerator.
Interesting insights mate, we have ZST Essence 1.3 engine, which I think is different (as well as CVT) from a 1.5 Vibe? So not sure. Ours starts and accelerates really nicely, which is more than I could say about my old MG HS DCT....
@@ValueCarsAU Do you think it may be the software? It is dangerous when crossing highways etc. People say it is lag from the cvt taking up. Thanks for replying.
I don't do oil changes or any mechanicals myself and as majority of drivers around AU simply take the car to the service centre when the time comes according to the distance travelled or time passed sticker.
Hi I have h6gt ultra on low speed race mode it jusr revs higher and doesnot sounds good or shift well, furthermore, is DCT lagging on 1st and 2nd gear. On normal driving mode is it normal or shall i get this checked?
I think anything that bothers you on a brand new car needs to be checked without a doubt. Are you past your first month free checkpoint? Regardless, just book with the service centre and let them know your concerns. It doesn't hurt, the car is on warranty.
Have you genuinely driven other DCTs besides Haval and MG? Just curious if you've actually driven any of the mainstream SUVS like the cx5,Tuscan, Sportage, tuguan etc?
What's your point? I had a Nissan Dualis and father in law had a Pathfinder for a while. Wife had Fiat 500X. We had 2 different Jeep Wranglers. Plus all my Chinese car line-up I had here. Even if I don't have a specific spread of experience among cars with DCT, I can compare at least 2 and comment in general on how this car drives.
@@ValueCarsAU I think you just need to test drive some of these newer cars from the bigger brands and see why they're selling the way they do. It's not all about the badge. You're right that they cheap out on some of the interior materials unlike haval which seems to be it's drawing card but they all make up for it in performance and ride. I've driven this h6 and whilst the DCT is better than MG HS the ride is soft but it's weirdly under damped and over sprung so for people who want to take it across country roads it's not something I'd say rides well , same with the steering which is dead. You can call me a troll that's fine but I've driven almost everything thats out there in terms of this segment and class. Haval is catching up and so is MG but they're still 7-8 years away from the mainstream in terms of how they drive just due to that fact that they're not tuned for our roads and their suspension systems are not as sophisticated. For around town and getting from a to b in comfort they're fine don't get me wrong. Like try driving this and then jump in a rav 4 and tell me what you think about the drive ... there's absolutely no comparison.
@@mharro88 in fact i own both the rav 4 hybrid, and a naval h6 hybrid. I don’t find too big of a difference in ride and handling, they’re both very comfortable. I reckon My h6 has better sound insulation too, the cvt in my rav4 is too loud and when u press it hard or going uphill the noise from the engine really transmit into the cabin. Meanwhile the h6 DHT is quiet and almost no engine grunt when. Revving hard, nice and smooth. Previously I’ve owned a Tiguan. Honestly everyone has their own appreciation and understanding of what is good for them.
@@librendan_fotos fair enough mate I've felt the handling a lot more dynamic in the new hybrid rav 4 compared to anything from Haval. Both arnt standouts but one is definitely more fun to drive
@@mharro88 my rav4 hybrid awd gxl costed me 56000 while my Haval h6 only costed me 47000. They both 2023 production year vehicle, so yes the Toyota is brand new too. I drive both vehicle on a regular basis, yea sorry, I don’t feel too much of a difference, when you are purchasing a car in this segment it means you are aiming for the family style suv. Not made for anything crazy, it is not a sporty vehicle anyway. But I’m going to point out again the 2.5 L CVT in the rav4 is very noisy when u revv it.
I think people have higher expectations of brands they hate. Clearly people hate Chinese brands. I have driven the H6 and to me the car drives as well as its Japanese competition ie. large compact SUVs. There are weaknesses. The FWD implementation is not as good as some Japanese brands. But the Japanese brands do not have a turbo w/ 320Nm. If you have a piddly 2.0 n/a with only 200Nm then of course your car has it easy. Does the H6 handle as well as some brands at very high speeds, say 130km/h+? No. Does the DCT operate as well as a VW or Audi DCT? no. But its not $75k. Is the ride as good as something like a CX8 or 9? No but its not $60k. For the vast majority of consumers it is good enough. If you drive it very hard then you will see faults... just like the Japanese brands. To me the Xtrail RAV4 Outlander also drive 'well' but not great... they are $40-$50k family cars. They are not sports cars.
Completely agree. These lopsided expectations combined with hypocrisy is what I can't stand. This car is almost as good (if not AS good as) some of the absolute top sellers that cost double. Yet people complain and nit pick while they'd forgive this in a heartbeat if we were talking about Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux or whatever else - you name it.
Like everything it depends on you. How long do you intend to keep it ? How do you intend to use it ? how well are you going to maintain it ? How much do you want to spend ? How much power and performance and luxury do you want ?. And on it goes but at the end of the day its just still a really cheap car. And not just the price. Fact.

Thanks, Tom, I'll take a look
Test driven most of the mid sized SUVs, from my limited experience, h6 drives better than cx5, last gen xtrail, forester, on par with outlander, worse than rav4, tiguan
I've driven a few but not that many. I suspect it won't be as smooth as European brands e.g. Tiguan, but surprised that you think RAV4 drives better?
Please comment on the 10K recommended oil changes?
I don't do oil changes or any mechanicals myself and as majority of drivers around AU simply take the car to the service centre when the time comes according to the distance travelled or time passed sticker.
Hi
I have h6gt ultra on low speed race mode it jusr revs higher and doesnot sounds good or shift well, furthermore, is DCT lagging on 1st and 2nd gear. On normal driving mode is it normal or shall i get this checked?
Its brand new 700kms on it
I think anything that bothers you on a brand new car needs to be checked without a doubt. Are you past your first month free checkpoint? Regardless, just book with the service centre and let them know your concerns. It doesn't hurt, the car is on warranty.
I think MG drive smoother they have adaptive cruise control. Under control. Haval adaprive cruise control is a little bit clunky needs work.,
I agree that all intelligent driving assist stuff is not great in Haval
I agree the MG HS transmission is terrible. The ZST drives much better .
Yep ZST is much better
Like everything it depends on you. How long do you intend to keep it ? How do you intend to use it ? how well are you going to maintain it ? How much do you want to spend ? How much power and performance and luxury do you want ?. And on it goes but at the end of the day its just still a really cheap car. And not just the price. Fact.
Sure
2 thousands??? Interesting video would be after a 100,000 kms of use
Stick around and you might find out eventually? 🤷♂🤣
We need join group of haval H6 Does anyone of you have a group in Telegram or WhatsApp?
I personally wouldn't. Imagine all the irrelevant noise you're not in control of? 🙄
@@ValueCarsAU For the sake of knowing the repeated breakdowns of a car and what are the solutions I am talking to you from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Not a fan of DCT or CVT regardless of manufacturer.
So what do you drive?
Nice english man.
You too man!
Hello Dimitri. Please ban stephen he very bad man. He call me a dot head. Not goood
I'm not sure what you are referring to, I don't tolerate any open aggression towards each other in my comments as I am trying to maintain a respectful atmosphere around here. In the comments between you two all I see is you lashing out at Stephen first. I'm sorry, but I only see what I can see and act on that. So I would please encourage you to take your feud with Stephen elsewhere.
