Too bad the code doesn’t work on the EU market (DE website) too. Great review, thank you. I am interested in a future purchase of a jackery 500, this panel + adapter and also a tent with sabre link flex dometic kampa led lights. Do you think a 12v car port splitter like the one you have referenced in your store would run both that led band strip and the dometic 55im fridge at the same time on the single car 12v port of the jackery 500? Would rather do that if sustainable than run the lights or the fridge off of the AC port since the inverter would kick in and I’d lose more power / drain the battery faster, from my understanding at least :) Anyway thank you for your reviews, great and useful channel and information, best of luck. I will try to use your code as much as possible if any EU based sites accept it.
I was literally looking at your channel for a review of this exact product last week and was sad that there wasn't one. Your timing is impeccable. Thanks professor!
Thanks Professor, just ordered a set, using the discount code, direct from Bluetti. We already have the AC50s thanks to your review last year. It is a great little power supply for off-grid camping. You are the one-stop-shop for all things solar. Keep the videos coming.
Been using 2 sets since first of the year. On my AC200 They work great. I added 2 100w hqst (renogy) have all 4 in series and get 350-380w no problem on nice clear days. Have gotten as much as 430w/5+ amps I only wish I'd gotten 4 sets instead of 2 during the crowdfunding.
Thank you for your explaining things so well and providing a real life review. I just purchased through your link. I do hope you get credit for the sale. I bought directly from the manufacturer because they have a better deal than Amazon!
So glad you reviewed these panels. (I had seen the bundle on Bluetti's site for the AC200P with 3 panels, and I am thinking that is the route I am going to go.) I like the fact that they have grommets and the MC4 connectors and no USB ports to foul. The cords have a nice length, also. Those panels looked good after 30 days in the dirt!
I like how Bluetti forces Jackery to improve, however slowly. Along those lines, can I assume there will be some more review activity around March 17th?
I bought this Bluetti 120 to charge my Jackery 1000. almost 2 months ago. ( I couldn't splurge for the ACP200p) Wish I had this coupon code then. So tempting to buy another. I chose it for voltage output in the event I ever do upgrade to ACP200P and need to buy another two 120w panels for recommended charging. Much easier to store than Jackery panel in a van. This panel is perfect and powerful. Knowledge gained from previous Hobotech vids tipped me off on the quality of these solar cells. Thank YOU TOM--
I got my SP120 panels late yesterday and got a chance to try them this morning. 9:45AM, temperature 36 F., clear sky. I lined it up with the sun, hooked it up to my AC50S and got 110 Watts. I checked it a little while later and the input on the PS was reading 112 W. That's what I'd call a great set of panels! I got the $100 discount by using HOBO100 on the Bluetti site. These are somewhat pricy but sure put out the power.
1:20. Oh my freaking gosh, you showed true work right there. An alternator, a starter battery and HOUSE batteries. You're killing it, lovely. THAT'S a winner. Man.
Just wanted to say really impressed by Bluetti customer service ordered a second 120 watt panel apparently was out but sent one already preboxed in a amazon box
Hi hobo tech, I used my 80 watt Suaoki solar panel today with the new bluetti ac50s and got 64 watts at the midday sun in NY. The Suaoki solar comes with all the adapters so no problem with the hook up. The solgen came with 80 % charge and it took around 6 hours to max up. A 120 or 200 panel would be better and Bluetti has the heavy gauge mc4 connector, but for now I have a backup solgen that I can charge one to the other . waiting for the view on the new 200 bluetti solar panel I thought I saw yesterday, very expensive bye for now.
Just got a Jackery 300 because I loved the specs (for my needs), especially with the bi-directional usb-c as another option for charging. Now I’m torn between the SP-120 + adapters or the Saga 100 for my first panel. Which do you actually “like” better and why?
This panel is more bang for the buck. The Jackery panel is quicker to setup and teardown but also falls down easier in the wind because it is taller. If you have a 300 this panel would work better for you.
I already have 2 Maxoak panels that I got when I ordered the 200P. Not sure if I need a third one. I am tempted though. Now the Renogy caught my attention.
0:45. And that's one of the issues right there, a solar panel that falls over. Should they make attachments to vehicle wheels or etc to not fall over.... I believe so!
Hi! Is it better to use panels and charging stations constantly? Will it deplete the usage life? Or better to store for emergency use? Thank you for the detailed reviews, codes and the kitty cameo!
I purchased the Bluetti SP120 to power my BLDR 300, and it worked great. I've since sold my BLDR to a friend and purchased a Jackery 1000. Is it possible to power my new Jackery 1000 with this Bluetti solar panel?
Do you have a review on the Bluetti SP200 panel? Also, and more importantly for me, what do you recommend for solar panels that are likely to last the longest, in terms of lifespan and build quality? I value your reviews and opinion. Thanks for this one.
Hi. I’ve bought a BougeRV fridge and a Bluetti AC200P based on your reviews and both have been great but after 2 weeks of traveling up the Pacific Coast, I think a portable solar panel could come in handy. MaxOak recommends using at least 3 of their solar panels to charge the AC200P which means that I’d have to spend another $1200 on top of the price of the AC200P to travel just 3-4 weeks out of a year. What I’d like to know is what’s the least number of portable panels of any brand I can get by with to help charge the AC200P when I’m parked for 2 or 3 days. The AC200P is only used to power my fridge when the van is parked. It doesn’t make sense for me to mount permanent panels on my roof when I only travel for 1 month out of the year and it also doesn’t make sense for me to lug around 3 solar panels in a minivan. Thanks for any suggestions!
Free advice from a mechanic, don't ground to your brake lines like that. They are not designed for carrying current. Pick any bolt in the engine bay that goes to the body, or the frame, or even the engine block.
I purchased Bluetti Power station AC200P 2000Wh/2000W - looking at the Bluetti SP200 power panel. 2 questions? 1) How many panels should I purchase. 2) We may put the solar panels on the roof of the garage occasionally for better exposure (live in Oregon cloudy days & trees). The power cable is 9' long, is there a way to add an extension from this cable to extend to the power station on the ground? I'm glad I found your order site....I'm in favor of supporting the hard working citizen, not some rich $$$. Thanks
I love your reviews! I have come across Inergy 1500W station after watching your reviews. (Brand new) which I have purchased. It came with 2 100W solar panel but not portable at all. as I was looking for portable solar panel, this SP 120 (Brand new) close out is selling for $120.00. What do you think about this panel that is still brand new close out at this price? Thank you so much for all your reviews. I don't know if this panel will be good after few years sitting on the shelf. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.
This panel looks so portable and compact. I just love this! I would like to know what I would need to do to use this with my zamp port on my camper. I heard that zamp does something to the wiring to make it work for their panels and it would need to be modified. Also what would I do for a charge controller if it isn't on this panel? I didn't see the parts that I think I might need on your store page.
Hobotech, I purchased this panel. Set it up direct hit 🎯 to the sun. In the sun for an hour minimum. Trying to charge the AC50S. Nothing. I emailed support. The responding email says peel off the plastic covering as one of the setup steps. How do you do that? It doesn't look like its syppose to come off.
They gotta get more creative with the balances needed to keep the panels at an angle and on the ground, or tires or even on wall/ vehicle sides by hooks. Spikes and rods for a soft ground or rods and chains by tires. GO HOBOTECH
Hi Professor! I am learning a lot from your channel. I want to get a power station for emergency backup in my condo. I don't want a gas generator because I don't want to store gas inside my condo. I have no garage or outdoor storage. I am not sure how well solar panels will work where I live which is rainy Oregon. We are overcast for most of the year! I'm more apt to lose power in the winter months when the weather is awful. What do you recommend? Or is solar an exercise in futility for me? Also, in the winter where I am, I do get WIND... so what do you know about portable wind turbines? (Being in a condo, I can't install a big permanent wind turbine.) What do you suggest for cloudy, windy areas?
I just ordered mine, thanks for the discount! I've been testing my new AC50s the last few days and I'm very happy with it. It seems to have blown the fuse to 150w ac outlet in me rig when I attempted charging from it, but I'm still troubleshooting that. Thanks again!
On the MC4 connectors with the Bluetti solar panel, is the female positive and the male end negative? Trying to see if it is compatible with my Goal Zero adapter/system. THANKS!
@HOBOTECH love your videos man. Got a real quick question for you, can you connect in series or parallel 1x SP120 and 1x SP200 or should all solar panels be the same wattage? Thanks a bunch! Also since the cells on the SP range of Bluetti solar panels are already connected in a series configuration, is it safe to connect two SP panels in parallel?
Professor, I have a Bluetti question, it may apply to other brands and models. I just used my Bluetti pv200 4panel. I can’t feel any wires in the hinge material at all! How are they connected? Thanks
Hi Prof. Hobo, What is a good alternative to the overly priced EcoFlow solar panels? Just purchased an EcoFlow Delta which I want to take with me on the road and charge using solar. What would you recommend?
Buying 5 of the Bluetti SP200W solar panels. Will I be okay using 10 guage solar cable for a 100ft plus? If I connect the panels in series will that work for not having much power lost?
Hey Professor Hobo, I recently received an EB150/x2 SP120 kit, and I picked it up based off of this review! So far I love the EB150, but when it comes to the panel, it seems I only get any power when the sun is at absolute max during the day (to the level that it casts a shadow on the panels). But if it's still in the open with even the slightest bit of overcast, I see no wattage being generated. Is this expected behavior? I purchased this partially to proved some emergency storm power where it may not be raining after the storm but the sun won't be perfectly clear and shining straight down....so it seems that this may not be able to recharge during the those days after a bad storm? I realize that it will not be the highest possible power generation, but at least some trickle charging can just help to hobble us to power being turned back on. Would love to learn more from other seasoned solar panel users!
Greetings, is it normal to have white cloudy marks on the panels? I also have a few crease marks, seems like the rubber shrunk or the solar panels actually have defects hard to tell. But I took pictures, will be sending those over to bluetti
Can you charge a GoLabs 300 solar generator with this? I got one around Memorial Day. This is my first generator? But I don't understand if this Open Voltage is too high. You said in your video that the GoLabs can take up to 22.6 volts. Does that mean Open Voltage or the other voltage, the voltage at Max capacity? I need a solar panel for this generator. Preferably a lightweight foldable panel. Thanks.
Haven't seen the video yet because I am still working but already prepared it in a new tab 😊 Just what I was waiting for, thanks! ps: thank you for using also the metric system 😊
I bought the AC50s and was hoping to get a recommendation for what is the best bang for the buck for a foldable solar panel and what is the relative charging time for type of panel?
Lol I just got my second bluetti 1500 for $999 on Amazon but it came with a package for $1399 I got the black bluetti and 2 120w portable panels from bluetti the same as this video means i got the second panel for free can not beat that hobo lamo
Greetings Professor Hobotech, could you please tell me how long a solar generator's battery should stay charged for to have for future use and what would you say is the biggest solar generator that has the longest lasting charge and thank you sooo much for all you do.
@@HOBOTECH Yes higher price for portable & water proof, nevertheless high price. Dokio I hv cheked out. They r cheaply made. I wanted to support u Professor by commenting on RUclips and as always, much appreciation for ur product reviews! I always learn from u. 👍🏽 🤗
Question: First, Professor Hobo, thank you so much for all the great videos and info. I’ve learned so much from you and Will Prowse over the past couple of months. Also, thank you for reviewing this panel...finally. I own 4 of them, because I purchased 2 of the AC50S bundles and 1 EB150 bundle. I have 1 question, then info to share that I hope some will find useful. 1) Can you comment further on the “water resistance-ness” of the panel? I ask because I am preparing to take mine on my trimaran this summer where I expect it will get rained and splashed on, but not immersed. My setup - So for $200 more than the AC200P and 3 Solar Panel bundle, I have 4 panels for 480W vs 3 for 360W, 2500Wh vs 2000Wh and 3 lighter weight SolGens vs 1 heavy SolGen. On the negative side, I have max 1000W AC vs 2000W AC, so I can’t run the Betty Crocker Pizza Maker or my electric kettle. However, I can run my Duxtop Induction cook top and Instant Pot. On the plus side, I have quite some flexibility vs a single AC200P. I can connect my panels in series/parallel and charge the EP150 at 360W, which I believe is limited by the 10A max input of the EB150. I’ve done this multiple times already and it charges really fast. I can also connect the panels in 2 separate parallel pairs to charge the AC50Ss at 122W simultaneously, which is the limit of the AC50S. Again, they charge pretty fast. Plus I always have at least 1 SolGen that is not being charged, so that it can run my devices, like my BougeRV 53qt Car Fridge that can be powered 24x7 by any of the SolGens. And the SolGen(s) that are being charged can be moved near the solar panels. Except for the 1000W inverter limitation (which is not a showstopper for me so far), I’m quite happy with the flexibility and portability of the system.
Haha 69. These are very expensive compared to like Dokio 300w panels. Dokio 300w panel is cheaper and puts out more power. Idk about when it is cloudy or rainy though. And it's kind of cheap material but these are definitely interesting!! Super excited for bluetti!!!
@@HOBOTECH I use PVC piping to create a stand for my Dokio 300w panel. I am trying to figure out a stand like Bluetti's stand for my Dokio. But I do agree. I'm not really happy with my Dokio and I'm looking for a more solid replacement. Thank you!
Ok am I the most retarded?? I just realized that rick and morty is patterened ater doc and marty. Back to the future just don’t compare me to a box of hammers I will certainly lose
Have a Jackery 1000. So should I get an MC4 to anderson power pole or a MC4 to 8mm adapter. Is there a difference between the two inputs? Or do they both have the same max charge rate?
Can you use 2 of these to charge a AC50S? Looks like voltage is too high? It just about dead on. Also maybe in parallel? What kind of solar input would you get from 2 in parallel?
The Bluetti site is currently showing the price of $399?!?! I thought that the Jackery panel was expensive at $299, but this is really expensive. Even with the discount codes, it is still pretty expensive.
I recently bought an Anker Powerhouse II 400 and was looking for some panels (100W to 120W) to recharge this in the event of a blackout. What would you suggest?
MR.HOBO TECH of the desert. From your recommendations I purchased the Bluetti EB240. After watching you describe charging in series/parallel with 200 W panels in shorter time for the EB240. I'm torn on what set of panels to buy. This more portable panel- how many panels would this take to charge in similar times?
Thanks, great info; we had previously purchased the Bluetti 50s and are very happy with it. We placed an order on these solar panels. Hopefully it works well with the Solarontheside connection on the outside of our Forest River R-Pod. Again, your informative videos are great!
Greetings OH Great one! Can you test EGO 3000 Watt Power Station? I have there Lawn mower, Chainsaw & Snow Blower from them and would like to stick to the same products? They have a solar Panel connector to MC4. Love you show.
I just got a eco-worthy 1570w hybrid and can't find much information about them. Have you ever considered doing anything on eco-worthy products? I'm looking for some advice on fusing and or shunts for the system. It has zero protection in the system.
Ecoworthy sells bottom barrel stuff. I assume you have a 50ft or higher tower installed for the turbine otherwise it's a complete waste. www.solacity.com/small-wind-turbine-truth/
Does anyone know which 100W portable panels are weatherproof and will work with Jackery 1000? I want two 100w and using two of these 120W would be too much for the 1000? Thanks.

How can I charge electric 24 volt wheel chair while she is riding on it so she doesn't have to stop and look for outlets .
4:45. Very GOOD. SPEAK.
Question, the MC4 cable that comes with the Sp120c is the female negative (normal) or positive?
1:01. DAM, I saw fire from off the dirt ground. GO HOBOTECH
Greetings, is it normal to have white cloudy marks on the panels? I also have a few crease marks, seems like the rubber shrunk or the solar panels actually have defects hard to tell. But I took pictures, will be sending those over to bluetti
Heck yeah, AWESOME video. Time to see how 120+ does.
Thanks.
HOBO TECH KNOWS!
Haven't seen the video yet because I am still working but already prepared it in a new tab 😊 Just what I was waiting for, thanks! ps: thank you for using also the metric system 😊
Will this work with the Jackery 300 ? Thanks

@@HOBOTECH I was gonna reply to this comment but then was like, he got it covered. I was gonna link your page too. haha
2:40. The proof of hardwork, coupled with the company's need to improve. Fall over solar panels.
It has been used the dirt and all is fine we wanna see this bad boy at work
some one that aint scared to use the products they test!! great info ! great video !
I bought the AC50s and was hoping to get a recommendation for what is the best bang for the buck for a foldable solar panel and what is the relative charging time for type of panel?
5 hours
Lol I just got my second bluetti 1500 for $999 on Amazon but it came with a package for $1399 I got the black bluetti and 2 120w portable panels from bluetti the same as this video means i got the second panel for free can not beat that hobo lamo
can it work in cloudy days. how well does it work? we have lots of cloudy days in northwest pacific coast>
Greetings Professor Hobotech, could you please tell me how long a solar generator's battery should stay charged for to have for future use and what would you say is the biggest solar generator that has the longest lasting charge and thank you sooo much for all you do.
Recharge every 6-12 months. The largest one I've reviewed is the Pecron Q3000s. Bluetti will release a 5100wh unit in a few weeks.
@@HOBOTECH Thank you...that's exciting to hear!!
Great Professor, need more power. 👍🏽 $300 after promo code & for 120W? That seems high no? Its portable & rain proof, seems a high price to pay.🤔
Sunpower cells and portability is what makes it so expensive. I don’t trust these plastic coatings. Won’t last long.
That's the price you pay for portability and top quality SunPower cells. If you want some junky panel that will fall apart in a year get a Dokio.
@@HOBOTECH Yes higher price for portable & water proof, nevertheless high price. Dokio I hv cheked out. They r cheaply made.
I wanted to support u Professor by commenting on RUclips and as always, much appreciation for ur product reviews! I always learn from u. 👍🏽 🤗
Hey Hobotech. Is this solar panel safe to use on a Jackery 240 & 500 SoGen?
Thanks for the discount code Tom I just bought the 120 panel and a Bluetti 150 they have them for $999 now
"Ribbed for your pleasure." LMAO. 😁
🤣
8:24 - I believe he prefers the term "multi-thousandaire"
You can get the panels very wet (think thunderstorm) but don't submerge.
@@HOBOTECH Perfect. Thank you so much.
Love your Video's But I do have questions : What is the difference between bluetti PV120 vs SP120 ? and is one better then the other ? thank You..
SP is old model PV is new (water resistant) model.
@@HOBOTECH Then I will save up for the new one. Thank you for your Quick reply. You have a great day..
Haha 69. These are very expensive compared to like Dokio 300w panels.
Dokio 300w panel is cheaper and puts out more power. Idk about when it is cloudy or rainy though. And it's kind of cheap material but these are definitely interesting!! Super excited for bluetti!!!
Dokio are garbage though. I interviewed a guy in Quartzsite that had 1200w of them. Couldn't even get them to stand upright. YGWYPF.
@@HOBOTECH I use PVC piping to create a stand for my Dokio 300w panel. I am trying to figure out a stand like Bluetti's stand for my Dokio.
But I do agree. I'm not really happy with my Dokio and I'm looking for a more solid replacement.
Thank you!
cadmium-air, rechargeable, btw, electron affinities of nickel = 1.157V, cadmium = -0.7v, gold = 2.308v
cadmium-platinum-air should be verrry nice

Love Odin outro! Great review!
Love the Back to the Future nod.
Ok am I the most retarded?? I just realized that rick and morty is patterened ater doc and marty. Back to the future just don’t compare me to a box of hammers I will certainly lose
Why is no one showing how the cables go into the damn generator? My SP200 has 2 cables coming from it. I'm confused.
bluetti sp120 versus pv120, waht is the difference?
Anyone know the cable to connect to a dc hybrid gel battery?! Thanks for the video!!
Would this be too much power for the energizer 240?
Will this panel fit inside the Montek 1000 waterproof suitcase SG? Your about the only one who already has one.
No. The 80w it comes with barely fits in there.
Have a Jackery 1000. So should I get an MC4 to anderson power pole or a MC4 to 8mm adapter. Is there a difference between the two inputs? Or do they both have the same max charge rate?
The inputs are identical.
Can you use 2 of these to charge a AC50S? Looks like voltage is too high? It just about dead on. Also maybe in parallel? What kind of solar input would you get from 2 in parallel?
AC50s only can take about 120w. You can run two in parallel.
The Bluetti site is currently showing the price of $399?!?! I thought that the Jackery panel was expensive at $299, but this is really expensive. Even with the discount codes, it is still pretty expensive.
It's the same price as Jackery with my code.
any idea when Bluetti will have their new 200w panel in stock?
Next month.
Hey Professor, have you ever made a DIY solar generator? Just curious.
I recently bought an Anker Powerhouse II 400 and was looking for some panels (100W to 120W) to recharge this in the event of a blackout. What would you suggest?
Rich Solar hobotech.tv/amazon/#Solar-Kits
You say it worked flawlessly rain, shine or wind. Why then does Bluetti say not to expose to rain?
MR.HOBO TECH of the desert. From your recommendations I purchased the Bluetti EB240. After watching you describe charging in series/parallel with 200 W panels in shorter time for the EB240. I'm torn on what set of panels to buy. This more portable panel- how many panels would this take to charge in similar times?
If you want to max out the EB240 you'll want six in a series-parallel config.
@@HOBOTECH Thank you! 6!
The EGO is extremely overpriced and undersized for what you get. However, write them and see if they will send me one if you want me to review it.
3:47. Looks like them holes on the sides are for bearing it down? That's a situation in itself, right there.
The canvas case holds the heat in and makes it less efficient.
@@HOBOTECH I haven't done anything yet. For someone just starting with no experience it seemed like a good start.
I received my solar panel today from Bluetti. If you hadn't shown how to release the straps on the panel I would've taken a knife to it.
Does anyone know which 100W portable panels are weatherproof and will work with Jackery 1000? I want two 100w and using two of these 120W would be too much for the 1000? Thanks.
