2 questions: I missed it: why these instead of traditional plugs?
and what’s the role of the zip ties?

Hello! The role of the field termination plug is to provide maximum performance when a male connector end is required. Our field termination plugs are Component Cat6A rated and impedance matching. The nylon tie supplied is to secure the cable to the plug housing in one of three orientations (vertical from two different directions or horizontal). Hope this helps!

I know you mention that this is okay to use with any cable as long as its between 6 - 8.5mm OD.
Will these work with trueCABLE CAT6 Riser cable? Spec sheet says OD on that product is 5.90 OD, was curious if that 0.10 matter for this product?
Thank you so much for all these videos, they are very helpful.

Hello and keen eye! Considering we are talking about the overall cable jacket, which has a tolerance of 0.30mm +/- along the cable (5.90mm is the average midpoint manufacturing target) you are fine. Now, if we were talking about the insulated conductors, that would be a very different story. Thanks for the kudos on the videos. We really try!
