Eden's Crush was an American girl group who were created on the American television series Popstars which aired on AOL Time Warner's WB. The group was formed in early 2001 and consisted of Ana Maria Lombo, Ivette Sosa, Maile Misajon, Nicole Scherzinger and Rosanna Tavarez.
Hundreds of girls competed to become pop stars in early 2000 on the TV series Popstars, produced by David Foster. The group was narrowed down to five finalists, Ivette Sosa, Maile Misajon, Ana Maria Lombo, Nicole Scherzinger and Rosanna Tavarez, over several prime time episodes. Warner Bros./Sire Records signed the group to a recording contract before the band was named or had finalized its membership, due to the hours of network television exposure the group would receive.[2]
The group's debut single, "Get Over Yourself" topped the Canadian Singles Chart and peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Love This Way" was released as promotional singles in some radio stations. Their album Popstars was certified gold, and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The group also guest starred as themselves on the television show Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Also in 2001 they played as a support act on some dates for *NSYNC's Pop Odyssey Tour and Jessica Simpson's DreamChaser Tour and they also went on tour with Play.[3] At the end of 2002, their record company, London-Sire Records, folded and the group eventually disbanded.
Nicole Scherzinger ended up being in The Pussycat Dolls.

It wasn’t mishandled she started out with a girl group and had to start again with another. She thought she was the “Beyonce” of the group. There’s a reason why her solo career is non existent. There’s been rumors going around for years about her being a spoiled brat and her ego and cockiness got in the way!

Maile had some confidence issues and her jealousy towards her perceived threat, Nicole, caused her to act out in typical passive-aggressive fashion. She knew she was wrong, hence her attempt at changing the tone and her wording during her personal interview after what happened.

I think Maile is easygoing and thought Nicole was difficult, always demanding things or complaining about things, so she was impatient with it. I don't think anyone was competitive with each other -- Nicole has insecurity issues that she has spoken of and also she always wanted to be a solo act and not part of a group. So there was destined to be a clash.

@WyndeDancer yep, you nailed it. She really tried to soften it in that personal interview, but her condescending tone and passive aggressiveness would have turned anyone off. Then she tried to say she was joking 🙄puh-lease!

@@johnsmi213 Both were incredibly insecure. It’s the reason why Nicole was incredibly sensitive, she was insecure about being wanted/validated in the group. There was already tension in the group because Nicole was getting more leads. It was definitely a sore spot for them.
Your psychological evaluation is very amateurish. You don't know what made Maile said that to Nicole. Could also be the simple possibility that she felt like Nicole was rejecting all suggestions to pick a picture and when you have a dry humor you will say what Maile said. You're reaching way too far with your "diagnosis" of confidence issues and jealousy. It's not that deep.

I really loved the resulting photos from this photoshoot. THey had such great outfits and it showed a great variation in their looks. The album cover is definitely my favorite.

As much as I hate to say this, the big problem was that the other four were resentful that Nicole was getting the "Leads" and more attention. Also they worked with too many Songwriters/Producers. They should have taken a page from their UK Counterparts Girls Aloud 2002-2013 who throughout their whole time worked with Xenomania who wrote and produced a chunk of their Hit Records. Although Nadine Coyle sang lead on a lot of their songs, it was Cheryl Ann Tweedy who became The Bigger Star.
Hello how can they take a page from the UK version when Eden’s Crush was formed before Girls Aloud? Plus the group disbanded when their record label went out business. And I don’t think the girls were resentful at Nicole at all. I think they were all very young with type A personality.
@@reginaphalange1403 I agree. Nobody was resentful of Nicole. Maile never even got to see her work her way up in the competition and wow the judges away since she joined the group as a last minute addition. So when Nicole started being difficult -- always demanding she get the pick of litter in casting for music video or hating on every picture because she was insecure about her looks -- Maile seemed to get annoyed with her. The other three ladies were so easygoing and upbeat that Nicole came off like a diva and difficult, even if she wasn't doing it maliciously.
Yes, you’re right. They were definitely resentful. Nicole just had it. That’s hard to be in a group when someone has such a strong star presence.

This is one of the episodes that didn’t remember a lot of. I remember the photo picking issue but not the F bombs. I was like “Popstars just got real!” I also don’t remember the emotional interviews. After seeing it now I appreciate it so much. It’s probably the most real they every showed them. There are definitely reality TV elements in there. But this really showed that there weren’t perfect and had issues. It would have been very easy for the show to always show them as getting along. They don’t make shows the same way these days.
Also, an all Spanish version of Mil Palabras with Rosanna as the main lead?!!! When we get that released?!

There were a lot of takes of verses shown in the show that were given to different singers on the final cut. Also, I remember when listening to "What's Good 4 the Goose" after getting the album, I was disappointed that the rap breakdown was removed. All these years later, I admit that it might have been a good decision, as it gives the tune and listener a bit of space to breathe. However, it was a disappointment at the time. Also, I remember a verse they showed Maile singing of "Love This Way" during the recording session was given to Ivette in the final edit (and that was shown at the concert in the final episode). I'd love to see a rerelease of the album with a bonus disc of alternate mixes, radio interviews, etc.

When Plus One came out I remember saying "Who are they?", and in 2023 I still don't know who they are.
Same. That moment was so staged. That group just happened to also be on David Foster's label with Eden's Crush and they were "huge fans." Clearly, the producer was trying to promote another fledgling act using this show as a platform. The girls were probably instructed to act that way.

I decided to give the search another try and saw these had been posted in the past month! Yessss! Please up load the final few episodes of the first season if you can (I can't remember how it ended). But even if nothing else is uploaded... I SURE DID GET MY LIFE RIGHT NOW!! Lol! This was a great binge. This show as SO good back then. I remember Nicole had stood out to me then too. I knew she was a star! She was my fav, then Ana.

This was the episode where I felt Nicole showed her true colors. Maile was annoyed at Nicole not being a team player to pick a freaking photo, all the girls were tired and annoyed at her, and then when Maile makes a dry/sarcastic joke Nicole takes it too far and curses her out instead of admitting she went to hard in response. She doubled down and refused to think about how the other girls were feeling about how long it was taking to pick photos. After that, I noticed Nicole only getting more and more obnoxious or fake for the camera after popstars and into pcd and many interviews and performances/shows she was on. It's sad because she was clearly the most talented of the group, but she was clearly not a fun person to be around based on how the other girls in both this group and pcd have expressed about working with her.

it just shows that everyone can feel insecure even these very beautiful ladies. Under a very stressful schedule, it's normal for people to feel vulnerable in a way that they usually wouldn't.

i think maile didnt a fault. i know nicole has billion fans and they are auto protectiv but she just said, decide which fotos u like and after that we do the rest. and she says "Fuck you". its insulting, not profesional. maile said "im kidding" because it was a uncomfortable situation because the "f" word is reallly a no go. she just said, choose the pics u like and we do the second elimination of them. nicole acts likea diva.
