@Micheal Schuler The four jets claimed to have been used in this device for the world record are JetCat p400-pro's. Jetcat claims that at full tit each engine is capable of producing 39.7kg thrust each. at 15cm in diameter - 4 of these would fit into the Flyboard platform. I know nothing about jet engines, but you clearly do as you own one. So i have to ask - on paper it does seem that these jets would have enough power going by the specs on the webiste. Is there something about jets or these specs that I do not know about as a laymen which mean that they would not?
Michael Schuler yes I do and I'm guessing yours might be toy/model grade turbines. VlogLikeNoOnesWatching you are correct they put out plenty of thrust as their published specs suggest (also now a Guinness record holder)
Real Deal.. Wow he's a good pilot...Very impressive..flight time just under 5 min? way cool..who are the 12 people that disliked this video i hmmm I wonder...but Naples? Near my home town...Hatts off to this..
only for the rich, because it has 4 scale jet engines, and they alone are about 10k each, so this is a at least 50k toy, and for that money, you have to built it yourself, because no profit is made for that money, so when this would be a commercial product, gues that the price would be at least 75k up to 100k or even more.
The Americans made two versions of this back in the late 1950's. One was called *The Wasp* and the other was the *Hiller Platform*. It was essentially the very same thing and was developed by an experimental division of their military. There are numerous videos here on RUclips of these flying machines. This is is definitely smaller than the originals :)
Those used ducted fans - this appears to use small jet engines. It also appears to incorporate some sort of gyroscope to help keep it stable. The Hiller Platform, IIRC, used 2 counter-rotating propellers for inherent stabililty.
Totalmente impresionante !!! Una vez que te subas a una de estos aparatos nunca mas vas a conducir un vehículo, bienvenido al futuro !!! El futuro ya llego, un juguete para millonarios !!! Totally awesome !!! Once you step on one of these anymore going to drive a vehicle, welcome to the future !!! The future already arrived today, a new toy for millionaires !!!
He uses 5 mini turbo jets, you know like the one's fighter jets use. It also has auto balance like gyroscopes for upright position and auto landing if malfunction, plus parachute. 10 minute flight time and max speed 90 to 100 mph and up to 10000 ft. height.
Amazing. I still can't figure out how it stays upright. Is it all driver balance controlled or is there some mechanism that never prevents him from tipping over?
According to the inventor he has also said that to be able to control this current prototype you would have to fly the water version ( flyboard ) for about 100 hours confidently before even attempting to use this.
according to theverge : www.theverge.com/2016/4/15/11439798/franky-zapata-racing-jet-powered-flying-hoverboard-interview theyre working on a flyboard version which will be intended for regular people so everyone would be able to use it, so I would also expect its price to be reasonable.
I talk about new hero like superHero I m unfortunaly agree with you for Wright brothers ... but french was first hero in the air with "Mogolfier Brother !!" heyhey !
His employees were witnesses in 1890, but even if you consider it not enough, the second and third prototypes (Zéphyr and Aquilon) were used in front of the french military at an airbase around 1897. The thing is they barely took off and when they did they immediately became uncontrollable and crashed. But they did took off ;-)
It's real, tons of people have live footage, independently, and the physics checks out, I'm just stunned with how much horsepower those 4 little jets can make
it's already in the guinness book of records, so it's no joke or fake. And i'm sure that someone else will come up with a drone version with a seat under it, so that it wil be way more easiër to fly than this.
Flying out to the billionaires, "... bet you can't do this." Problem is, they can pull out their checkbook and say, "... but I can do this." Still cool as shit, like a Marvel comic.
yes, easy targets flying straight at you but what if a sniper and his spotter could fly from position to position? would also be great for paratroopers and black ops. i would take one in a fire fight any day over not having one. you just have to be careful how you approach.
Only way to make them quieter is to decrease pressure differential of the exhaust gas and the surrounding air and to do that with losing thrust you would ned to increase the cross sectional area of the exhaust apertures/nozzles= turbofans. Sadly High-bypass turbofans that small arent being produced and may even be impossible to scale down to be a viable alternative.
8000SAC you can see the jet's hot gas going out of it plus it even makes a noise which sounds real, and again Theverge said theyre real, and theyre a reliable source so it is real.
Maybe your logic dictates but Newtons 2nd Law disagrees. These are reaction engines thrust being the function of the flowrate and velocity of mass being ejected. Amount of thrust is totally independent of any surface that expelled mass is impacting. That's why spacecraft can move in the vacuum of space.
+volvo245 Hi....since you're IQ is higher than mine...I'd like to work for you. Bring a franchise of this nature to upstate NY,....and I'll hit many of the Adirondacks Lakes...do little "shows", if you will, have fun, and make us "moo- Matt" if you might like. Cheers!
+Frank From Upstate NY Inventing something like this isn't a definitive indication of high IQ. In fact geniuses might see this as too dangerous and perhaps pointless. I'm just a dumb engineer and things i cobble together aren't this adventurous. If you are serious instead of salty you should contact Franky's company for a franchise deal.
If you're an engineer,...you have at least 130 IQ....that's not too shabby brother human. So give yourself some respect. I can't afford a Franchise deal...I'm sure it's 10's of thousands of dollars to start....I'm just getting ready to retire from nursing.....so...I'm not rich. Cheers

Ok, là je pense que c'est bien vrai. Par contre, faut mettre un costume en rouge et or avec un beau néon rond sur le torse :-) Faut aller demander à Marvel, ya surement moyen de faire un show chez Disney avec ça !
Now..take that and mate it with that sea doo, that is pacing him. Then think of where you could go.after that, thin nuclear cell. Great invention, military will copy.
Very impressive but still looks very complicated. At this early design stage, only the rich pro junkies would have cash to purchase one...or have enough balls to set foot on that death trap they called, "flying-board." Looks fun but I'll wait 10 mores yrs to see if they can come up with a more friendlier "civilian" model. Chances are, some military's most likely going to buy it before civilians gets their hands on them.
Sundincubus They have and are starting with experiences for the public from the beginning of 2019 in the USA. It’s called the EZ-Fly. Look at www.zapata.com for more info.

Wes Douth do you own any gas turbined ..I do and they don't put out the amount of thrust needed for vto

The americans did not the same thing at all. And now an american defence company wants to buy this French company.
this is like a drone, but with jet engines instead of props.
What a time to be alive

Thats crazy awesome
If its a real video, than it's very impressive flight.
All we need is spiderman, the green goblins back!!!
we are going to have a bunch of fucking green goblins everywhere now.lol

does it work on land? its a little too high
yes but dangerous if fall

They have always been...

Quiero comprar uno.
I like the noise of the reactors, it's quite impressive but not convenient to go work with this noise.
They gave us the Statue of Liberty, now this US military buys the gadget.
I won't one!!
hi
is it real or a jock
It's real check google. I filmed it myself because I'm part of the ZR team.
It's real, tons of people have live footage, independently, and the physics checks out, I'm just stunned with how much horsepower those 4 little jets can make

the drone passenger craft your referring to has already been done as well
So are you a conspiracy theorist, or just a troll? lol
wow
Flying out to the billionaires, "... bet you can't do this." Problem is, they can pull out their checkbook and say, "... but I can do this." Still cool as shit, like a Marvel comic.

give the video editor an oscar right now!
It's real
nope
Samrit Machielsen yes it is.
I hate the noise on those things. Maybe they can come up with something a little quieter.
Shhhh…..
They have....its called ear plugs!!! LoL
And you can see they're cherry red when he flies overhead :)

cant be... right? wtf?
theverge claims it is indeed real..

8000SAC it is real.

I think the platform grill (perforated platform) is to avoid ground effect during take-off and landing.
Logic dictates that the closer to the water/push off surface....the faster the velocity and changes in direction....just don't soak those thrusters!
Maybe your logic dictates but Newtons 2nd Law disagrees. These are reaction engines thrust being the function of the flowrate and velocity of mass being ejected. Amount of thrust is totally independent of any surface that expelled mass is impacting. That's why spacecraft can move in the vacuum of space.

compress air in the tank he have in the backpack.

imagine if military could afford it in hundreds of quantities:) Next normandia would be heaps different..
Just imagine an army with assault rifles approaching you with hundreds of these..
It would be cool visually, but they'd be easy targets. They should make small unmanned jet drones though.
Put some led lights on you.
go up to 93mph
WHERE THE FUCK IS BATMAN!?
🙂
look ma no hands
yo thats real guys.. ill seeing it.
are u crazy
that real kid
and now he's in trouble with his government? wtf?
then will have FUI tickets (flying under the influence)
