Oaxaca has won Travel & Leisure "Best city in the World to Visit" for two years in a row. That speaks about what is Oaxaca.

We hope you are able to go! Oaxaca is often called the gastronomic capital of Mexico! There are so many great places to get amazing food, hopefully we can make a video of our favorite restaurants in Oaxaca! 😍

I am so excited to experience this next week. Thanks for sharing. All the flowers and colors look amazing and is making me excited. It’s very helpful to know what to expect. I visited Oaxaca over the summer but I’m súper excited to come back and experience Día de Muertos. Whats the ñame of the cemetery you visited?

Glad it was helpful! 😍 The cemetery we featured in the video was "Panteón de Xochimilco" (just north of Centro). As we mentioned in the video, it was recommend to us for a super intimate and low key setting, with different presentations outside the cemetery on different days. However, if you are looking more for something similar to what they depict is Disney's Coco, the cemeteries about 20 min (probably 45min to 1hr in the traffic of the holiday) south of Oaxaca de Juarez are highly decked out, they are called "Panteón Viejo Xoxocotlán" and "Panteón Xoxo". We hope you have an amazing time experiencing Día de Muertos!!

@@takeoffgetaway Thanks so much for the recommendations. I really appreciate it. I really like the smaller more intimate one you shared in this video. I'm going to try and get to this one at least. Thanks again! I am excited to experience it in Oaxaca.

Hello! Love your videos. I am going to Oaxaca for Day of the Dead in a few weeks and watching this has really gotten me excited. Did you get that adorable axolotl shirt somewhere in Oaxaca? Also, any particular shops you recommend? Thank you!☺

Hi! Oh my goodness, we are so excited for you! 😀🙌 Thank you for your compliments; glad you enjoy our videos ❤️ Yes, I got that axolotl tank top in Oaxaca. Actually, if you got to timestamp 15:09 in this video, we are looking at t-shirts in front of a seller with a floral headband... That's where we got it! 😊 We didn't see any names for the booths, but we just checked the tag and it is by "Larva Clothing" and they actually seem to sell shirts online 🙂 As far as shops, we mainly bought our souvenirs from street vendors or the booths next to the Santp Domingo church. But we can recommend a few restaurants if you want 😉

@@takeoffgetaway Thank you so much!☺ My best trip souvenirs have usually come from street vendors so I will stick with shopping that way. But yes, any advice on restaurants and/or coffee shops would be wonderful. 😀

@@KarynMcClary Sure! Our favorite restaurant was Los Danzantes (on the Andador Turístico about 400* ft south of the Santo Domingo church), which is a high-end restaurant. We had the mole sampler, we highly recommend it! We also enjoyed the Mayordomo locations, they are a mid-range restaurant. They have several locations but they are not a franchise so they have different menus at each one. Our favorite was the one at the Zocalo. And if you are looking for more of an authentic hole in the wall, our favorite was El Apetito Buffet, an amazing selection and everything was so tasty, and the price was super affordable! As far as coffee shops, we couldn't stop going to Cafe Brújula, which we featured in the video (they also have several locations, we went to the one kitty corner to the Santo Domingo church). Hope you enjoy!
