Morning Jason. Well said about mental health 👍🏻 Getting the message out there is so important and people watching your channel I’m sure it’ll help 🤩 Can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I started following your model railway 👍🏻 Take care cheers Stevie 😎🏴
Hi Stevie, yeah it does need a voice and I know males are bad with bottling it up and struggle with it in silence. If it gets one of the viewers thinking, then a job well done. Hope all is well on your side of the world..cheers
Hi Jason. Greatly appreciate the update as videos are much more fun to look at rather than static pictures on FB. But, obviously much more work involved in creating the videos. Thank you for sharing some thoughts about mental health. Wishing you all the best in that regard. Looking forward to your next updates when you can. Take care!
Thanks for the comments and feedback. Yes agree with the video vs pictures, but I did enjoy putting this together. Hopefully it gave some encouragement to anyone going through hard times and not to struggle alone..regards
Sorry to hear that you had your challenges this year Jason, but you are so right about seeking help. The basic construction is a substantial achievement of carpentry before you consider the modelling and all the track laying and associated electrical work. Good that you are getting near to starting the scenery and I hope you get the issue with the control panels sorted. Stephen
Hi Jason - Really sorry mate to hear your not feeling too good of late. As someone that was diagnosed with Complex PTSD over a year ago I have no issues talking about it or telling anyone. People need to be made aware. I for one was totally amazed as to how debilitating mental illness was in my case. I have undergone therapy along with medication and although I still suffer the night terrors I am now back to my old self. Happy, no longer depress and have my motivation back. I would tell anyone like you said, dont keep it to yourself and seek help. It can happen to anyone and I mean anyone. What make of screen and cameras have you got for your set up as I need at least 4 cameras for my fiddle yard which is behind the chimney. I keep saying it Jason but I have never seen such a tidy layout in my life, truly awesome. I bet your home is awesome if your layout is anything to go by. Off to a model railway show tomorrow, so excited. Regards Chris
Thanks for sharing Chris, I'm glad to hear you have come out the other end doing well. I have only just started my medication and may take another 2 to 4 weeks to kick in..but the train room is great theropy as well. Have fun at the model expo tomorrow and hopefully you do not do too much damage to the wallet 😉..regards
Jason, great message about mental health especially in these times. Thank you for your honesty. As for the layout, WOW looks amazing. Your attention to the details on the portals and such, perfect. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Cannot wait to see the scenic stuff go in. Ken
Always impressive Jason! Loved the retrospective. I enjoy looking at your benchwork; the nicest I've ever seen - simply exquisite! You've certainly made a lot of progress. The layout is coming along nicely, even though we're probably never happy with our own progress. In spite of the video interference, the monitoring system is very nice - clear, crisp views! Your work is definitely inspiring!
Thanks John! Yeah looking back was great. Was looking through the many photos a few weeks ago and it showed me how I lost sight of the amount of work undertaken over the years. Just waiting on a product that will hopefully take the noise out of the video lines so fingers crossed, else I may need to move them as far away from the bush lines, which is a little trickier to do..regards

Excellent update and I’m really looking forward to all the scenics you’re going to do, love the cameras and you’ve been busier than you think. Hi Dallas, thanks for the support
Brilliant update. Could you please provide some info on your camera and monitor system?
Hi WCM, thanks for the feedback! The system is actually a truck monitor system. Can record up to 4K, the monitor is 10.1" and comes with 4 cameras. I got this from AliExpress, here is the link for further information:

Quite timely with it being RUok Day. Mental health is an important subject. I really like the background photographs on your control panels. Hopefully you can get the clarity of the printing fixed up.
Hi Peter, I didn't even realise it was RUok day, but important subject it is. Yeah, just heard back, they are seeking feedback now from the printing team as to why the difference. Should get answers in a couple of days..cheers
Hi Putting down the felt before the cork does it help noise reduction?
Hi Ron, it certainly does. It take away a lot of the high end hiss when running fast trains. Let's more of the bass come through..cheers
Amazing work you put us English modellers to shame lol apart from Pete waterman who has an amazing layout here in uk lol
Well I dont know about that, you have lots of great modellers..just tight on space at times..but I have been very fortunate there. But appreciate you watching..regards
doesn't have to be train related my friend
