The Muses were singing like rent was due and they had one chance to get it right 🤣
with james chanel wright!!! BABY. they ALL SLAYYYYED!!!
sorry wrong person
Michael Bolton did his thing too
@@ikexbankai Yep!!!
No they sang like they were a couple months behind on rent and the sheriff was coming to evict them the next morning. This was their last chance. 💀💀 and boy did they deliver.
Whomever decided that this movie needed gospel music is a genius!
"Distinctively for the film, the idea to incorporate gospel music for the songs was suggested by co-screenwriter and co-director John Musker"
Agreed. Purely genius. I loved listening to this music as a little kid. It's still one of my favorite music scores from Disney.
I also heard in an interview that gospel music was chosen because "It's music for the Gods" or something to that effect.
@@TheWiseGrif yes but all credits should go to howard ashman and alan menken it can all be traced back to their little shop of horrors days and influence
It wasn't a compliment. The reason the song exists is because they needed to dumb down ancient history so even the mot uneducated American could understand it. That doesn't not make it a bop though.
@@fluffybunny7668 Hercules and Hunchback of Notre Dame are hands down the best 90s/00s era Disney soundtracks
I loved how the directors managed to combine the gospel element with the old Greek theatrical trope of having a narrating chorus.
They blended so beautifully.
I mean, that's pretty much a Black church service lol
GIRL I CANNOT SEEEEEE… Greek stuff without thinking of Gospel
As a Greek guy, I'm really happy to see Muses being represented as black Gospel Singers. It's a genius analogy with the ancient Muses, whose splendour was mostly seen as a reflection in the poet's evocations towards them. To see this wink at religious music both in ancient times and now really makes sense to me. Love it !
Greeks can also be black as well. The Muses are ethnic Greeks that look Black

The Hercules soundtrack is SEVERELY underrated. It is one of my favorites of all time.
Is it underrated tho?? Lol, I feel like those who know, know! Ya know😂
It BETTER be in the remake or I'm boycotting
@@juliannehannes11 it better NOT get a remake.... are you kidding me? With Disney track record with remakes, why would you want that nonsense? 😂
@#Ayeni! it's happening unfortunetely
Tarzan was bomb soundtrack, so was Mulan, the Little Mermaid, and Goofy Movie.. like the music was hitting for me.. shoot even the Hunchback of Notre Dame❤
So this is your Muses audition tape, correct? 😂 You sangin’ sir!
Yeeeeeeep! Disney better see this too! 😂
AGREED!!
@@jmlegrairstudio did you see the all black male group that performs this??? It’s incredible
@@anafox421 what’s the groups name? I’d like to watch that.😀
@@aubweeee i think they’re talking about the hercules muses medley! i may be wrong, but you should definitely check it out
You being able to replicate their lines so effortlessly just improves the video on every level 😂
no fr tho. like i love that he is lowkey showing off his own talent, saying (without telling us) that he's actually qualified to do a video like this
Kudos to their animators also. Their dancing and gesturing and timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I adore the Muses.
Especially having to animate them TO their ad-libbed moments?
you should check out behind the scenes for it :)
They might've rotoscoped some of their dancing from the actual singers
The women voicing The Muses: Lillias White, Cheryl Freeman, LaChanze, Roz Ryan, and Vaneese Thomas.
Why did I think En Vogue was a part of the muses?
@@tmccabe72Mandela effect I think...cuz for a long time I thought so too. I feel like someone said a live version would have existed sooner than later and that en vogue would have been the best bet at the time. Idk.
Thank you Michelle ❤
@@tmccabe72 they don’t have the range. Sorry.
And to think The Spice Girls were approached first...
Okay but seriously you are like the only voice teacher reactor that has been perfectly on key when mimicking the vocals. I need to hear more!
RIGHT?! Just HEAVEN! 🎶
I noticed that too and I LOVE IT
he is that majestic
that's because a lot of the 'vocal teachers' that react to stuff on youtube are just clout chasing grifters that are trying to cash in on the react scene and actually have no notable credentials. this person is different and actually has a fucking business to back it up.
Him and tara simions I love watching them
Hercules and Cinderella with Brandy and Whitney Houston CARRIED my childhood do you hear me? This movie stayed in the VCR 😂
I love the songs in the Brandy Cinderella. ❤ Very cool to watch it.
Little brother got me DVD and I’ll tell you how many times watched it 🤦🏾♂️. Never mind streaming it
Can we also talk about how incredibly talented YOU are!
Him hitting those high notes. Mwah✨
❤
The muses made the movie, and its ironic cause they were telling the story. They even made that song that Meg did sound so much better.
Favorite song from the movie
I Won't Say (I'm in Love) is my favorite Disney song!!!!
I actually prefer singing the Muses’ parts instead of Meg’s, totally agree!
It's really interesting. I loved Meg's voice and songs when I was little and went out of my way to learn them but when the live version went viral a couple years back, I realized I remembered every single word of all the Muse's songs. They lived in my mind rent free! Almost threw my voice trying to sing along. I had chills. I still like Meg's tone but man, young me was missing out. This video really gives me newfound appreciation. They're completely underrated!
I want tosing too, behind the scene & abroad.
11:05 - I love that not only are they giving the funeral vibe, but also the muse taking the lead here is Melpomene, the Muse of Tragedy
WAIT. WAIT. They’re all assigned specific Muses?!
YES.
Calliope (epic tales), Clio (history), Thalia (comedy), Terpsichore (dance), and Melpomene (tragedy).
There are four other Muses in Greek mythology, but nine’s a pretty crowded stage.
Euterpe (poetry), Polyhymnia (music and geometry), Erato (love songs and eroticism), Ourania (astronomy). Kinda makes sense they didn’t use those four. Though Euterpe was always my favorite in the little Greek myth encyclopedia I had. Still have it, I think. She has a flute that only poets can hear, which is objectively dope.
@@emilysmith2965 Yup! The lead is Calliope, Muse of Epic Poetry, making her telling of the myth of Zeus vs the Titans (and eloquence & articulate oration) very appropriate. The shortest is Thalia, Muse of Comedy obviously. The others are Clio (ponytail, Muse of History) and Terpsichore (short skirt, Muse of Dance) though I can't think of any standout thematic moments for them. At least in the opening Clio is holding a scroll, and Terpsichore is wearing a very dancer-ly outfit w/ those wrist loops
Edit: lol oops, didn't see the "see more" there, so you already know which muse is which lol my b
Yesss! 🙌🏽
@@starkid910 Honestly, I think Clio should have taken more of a lead of Zero to Hero, since it's about his rise to fame and her name literally means 'make famous'. I get why they gave it to Calliope but still.
That's such a cool detail! I had no idea. ❤
I have a nasally voice and have always been self conscious of it. You mentioning it in Meg's voice actress has made me feel better about mine. Thank you
She’s also the voice of Belle in the Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast and Rose Quartz from Steven Universe :) She’s one of many many talented and successful singers with that voice quality!
@@caroaroaroline9999 Thank you for your reply, you brought happy tears to my eyes
@@ajnebula6622 Her name is Susan Egan, if you were wondering, and I always loved her voice growing up when I was watching this movie. It was one of my all time favourites, in part because of Susan Egan (another part was the Muses, they're great and growing up in Louisiana means I grew up around a lot of Gospel Music).
@angelousmortis8041 Ooo off to look her up, thank you!!!
The trick to correcting that is to practice singing with your nose clamped with the goal of not sounding stuffy. Work with the vowels. If you can do vowel scales with your nose plugged and not sound stuffy, you'll find the right placement that'll correct your nasality. It's okay for effect, but should not be a standard.
So when they have the live action movie…they need to hire you in the room to get these singers right together!!!
I would be on cloud nine! 🥹🤞🏾🙏🏾

Most of the vocal teachers on here don't actually sing the examples of what they are talking about. I loved watching this video and hearing you sing
THIS!!!! Omg
Right?? My God this guy's voice is insane
this guys amazing
THISSSS
frankly this channel is the first voice teacher who does not just seem jealous the whole time lmao. Like for all the other voice teacher channels I feel like they are constantly being passive aggressive to whoever is singing.
Lillias White and her articulation is unsurpassed. Roz Ryan brought the deep gospel growls beautifully
YAAAZ, YAAAAAAZZZ, YAAAZ - ROZ RYAN GAVE ME AMEN ALL THROUGH THE OPENING & EVERY TIME THE MUSES SUNG❗💯❗
These analyses really show me just how much acting the performers had to do. They're not just singing. They're playing a part with emotion.
Can we also give credit to their voice acting??? They deserve AWARDS for the way they use their vocal instruments!!!!!
At 3:52 they straight-up sing themselves into a new art style, which is SUCH a great moment on all fronts
We have too I mean it’s an obligation !! I still thinking that they gave more attitude in their French voice than in English even thou they are already perfectly good in English
Gospel is the music of the gods, so the writers/screenwriter pushed for the soundtrack be gospel music. They picked the best, and it shows. Thank you for this video!
It's more like the word/news of god. (I know you're referring to the filmmakers quote, though)
Ugh so smart! They really thought of every detail
Music if God, not the gods.
Gospel is of God Almighty not gods.
I see the monotheists took issue with your comment, even though they knew what you were talking about. Exactly!
If you told me this entire video was made to show off your vocals, I would believe it. And I would NOT be mad. I am thankful. Please do MORE! You took ALL the talent, sir. Leave a little for the rest of us!
15:50 "He could tell you what's a Grecian urn-/-earn" - Pun always makes me giggle.
This is one of the only “voice teacher reacts” videos that actually reacts and picks apart the technique instead of just reacting to the lyrics or general vibe. Really enjoyed the educational components of this video!
Disney used to have the best singers/songs/songwriters! You just had to sing along. But Hercules was so different because of the gospel influences the music utilized. This was one of my favorite movies for that reason because I have always been into Greek mythology and love hearing gospel singers deliver so it’s the best of both worlds. AND YOU BETTER SING YOUR FACE AWF, JARON! Ohhhh I’m so ecstatic my algorithm led me to you 🖤 I need you to drop a gospel album or put a group together because you are blessed, anointed, talented. Ugh just love ya
I love that the muses are Black and representative of Black culture.
Can’t help but notice the microcosmic parallel with American culture.
I ghostwrote this 😂🥰
This is the magic of Disney I want to see come back into movies. The amazing scores that disney would make for a kid's movie was out of this world. The got the best composers, writers, singers, orchestra... etc. The emotion that would go through you when these songs came on!!!! The theaters would be on fire!
I love how much purpose each line has. Like they masterfully combined the singing into the acting so they're not just singing. They're all trying to actually say something. I noticed it really in "I won't say I'm in love" There's so many times when a moment transitions from a sad one to one of hope and happiness that helps us through Meg's thought process and our inevitable convincing that she does indeed love Hercules!
The one who corrects Vase I believe is Clio -Muse of History. And the one who leads 'Young Herc was mortal now' is Melpomene - Muse of Tragedy.
Fun side note, the group leader, Calliope, is the mother of legendary musician Orpheus.
Calliope.... the name of Kratos daughter as well.. hmmmmmm😊
The idea that the Gospels went from being very pointed with their singing and pronouncing every homophone to getting almost more relaxed and expressive with their runs is really conducive to the story; where you had the past, carved literally into stone, unmoving and precise, transitioning into the present which is ever shifting at a whirlwinds rate, is perfect.
I also love how in all the Gospel Truth's we have each Muse tell their own part of the story. All different parts and different perspectives that make up the whole truth. But when it came to Megara and her love song? They were all in unison, as if there were no other ways to look at it, and it was just a simple, straight forward thing of her being in love.
this is very well put and accurate. great connection.
I love this comment
your coment made me cry. In a good way. So well analyzed and compromised. Thank you.
It’s the Alan Menken magic. He’s behind a lot Disney’s biggest songs.
And Howard Ashman
David Zippel was the lyricist
My little boy - he is non speaking autistic and uses lots of ecolalia and quotes to communicate - he adores it.
The aricticulation and diction really helped him in speech therapy.
Plus its just great if you have to list to something played over and over for hours.
Just the first song, and the Muses' voices fill my eyes with tears. SO. MUCH. EMOTION! Truly Godly🤩
I did the shoulder move at 1:43 at the same time as you. This movie was also what inspired my 11 year old self at the time to look into Broadway and I never looked back.
You can't watch that part and Not do the shoulder move 😊
Amazing 🤩
I think it’s required choreography for the audience, no?
The way you’re hitting these notes like nothing!! Absolutely incredible 👏🏼
Hercules introduced me to gospel style and while i don't listen to it often, whenever I notice it it stands out. The bombastic energy, the fun that's had by the singers, the improvisation, all of it makes for such a fantastic genre that I wish got used more often in other media, like video games and the like.
I'm an athiest, but let me tell you something. In audition's and regular choir in high school we did a lot of gospel music-It was a BLAST. ❤
Faith's got nothing to do with it; if the music's fine and fire, anyone of any language or religion can enjoy the heck out of it. Great music transcends those barriers~😊
@@alexisgrunden1556 Absolutely!
SAME!!!!!!!!!! Some songs made me tear up despite me being atheist as well
@@alexisgrunden1556not completely true. Though atheists can just sing any religious song they enjoy, most monotheistic religions have some sort of mutual exclusivity clause. So they cannot worship other gods. Which is exactly what Gospel songs are all about.
That is also why BCE and CE became popular in certain academic circles. Because AD is an abbreviation of the Latin for in the year of our lord. Whereas CE is religiously neutral.
Atheist here. The organ is my favorite instrument and the larger-than-life atmosphere inside large churches. Whenever my family drags me to church on easter and christmas I look forward to the organ music.
The Muses are a perfect example of when Disney used to be bold and creative enough to blend cultures and create something different and new, as opposed to now where rebooting a classic franchise and including a more diverse cast is their idea of creativity.

A Star is Born is such a super underrated Disney gem of a song.
Never appreciated it when I was younger ( I did with Zero To Hero ), but now I can’t stop hearing it after watching this 😭👏🏾
It’s my absolute favorite
The soundtrack to this movie changed my life! It effortlessly brought the grandeur of cinematic orchestra to the flamboyance of Gospel and then to the smooth, easy listening of R&B . This score was a complete game changer for DISNEY! Shout out to Lillias White for her advocacy of the portrayal of black women in film, she fought for the aesthetic of the muses to match the SOUND.
Lillias White (who voiced the lead Muse) is now Hermes in Hadestown (more Greek mythology) on Broadway. Can you do a video reacting to her in that?
Is she really???🤩👀
That’s so cool!!
People sleep on the Go The Distance song but that song is so beautiful vocally! I do a mean Gospel Truth and will just burst out singing it in the Disney section at Target even if it’s not playing 😂😂😂
I would love to be in target when you did that ❤😂❤
It's one of my least favourite songs, I have to be honest. Always annoyed me with how whiny it was.
But I'm not denying the technical stuff. Just don't like the song
No one sleeps on it! I've seen so many covers here on RUclips by other artists because it's a favorite of theirs and mine also!!!
Go the distance was my high school graduation song in 98 I had my son in 99 and this is his favorite Disney movie.. The muses were a whole bop Roz Ryan from Amen ❤❤❤
All the Muses are iconic, but Lilias White really just nails it. Even her voice work and spoken narration. Truly a legend of stage AND screen!
He hurled his Thunderbolt is one of the most fun lines to sing in any song.
"I Won't Say" has always been one of my fav disney songs, its incredible. and so your voice omg! really enjoyed your singing and analysis of these awesome songs
I haven't stopped smiling since 0:01 seconds in!!!
The essence of Gospel is all through these ladies singing these scores.
This was such a fun one!!!
That ending “ a star is born” get me hype all the time. Beautiful airflow control.
Your tagline is so special 🥹 “be vocally bold, creative and aware… but always be vocally you.”
Definitely not me crying in my apartment, thank you for this channel
I have no idea why but I literally cried watching this video. I never realized how important it was as a young black girl to see this in my cartoons. As an adult it’s so beautiful to understand how important and fantastic the Muses were!!!
That little hiccup she does on "everyday" in Gospel Truth III is my favorite moment in the entire soundtrack.
Brilliant. Gorgeous.
🗣️YODEL IN HERE, MA'AM! 🙌🏾
Same
My favorite part about the 5th muses emphasis on that belt in "Gopsel Truuuth", during Hades' scene....the way she punched that D#5. She didn't sing that note, she snatched it out of the air.
My Classical Literature professor once told me Hercules is structured like an ancient Greek play, with the muses taking the role of the chorus. You're right in saying they're the narrators, because the chorus in a greek play was meant to provide narration and voice the audience's thoughts.
as someone who is hopelessly bad at singing, i LOVED the way you described the actual physical movement and technique behind their vocals. it helped me actually conceptualize what goes behind each vocalization.
in the 90s Disney STAYED with the black girls in the studio
LOVE listening to an expert get excited! Never seen a “vocal coach reacts” vid do so much to bring linguistics vocab to the conversation. Phonemes, fricatives, plosives-ASPIRATE SLIDES? Won me over immediately
The lead singer needs a Grammy. She's amazing. If they don't continue the gospel in the live action, I'm rioting.
When i started this video i thought id be put off by the interjections BUT my goodness do you know how to keep people engaged, your presence on camera is so warm and inviting, your excitement is contagious and your VOICE!!!!! My goodness
I love how u hear such different blends with the muses as well because when Lillias starts as Calliope, she starts sweet & articulate while Roz starts all grunty & powerful with Lachanze, Vaneese & Cheryl on the harms then Lillias starts belting it out. Then Lillias jumps to the Low Harms on “Tho honey it might seem impossible thats the gospel truth” while (I could be wrong) Lachanze & Cheryl jump to the main line top harms & belts for the first part then go back to Lillias & (I could be wrong as well) Lazhanze on the top for the second “tho honey” excetra like that song was done so well especially with every muse slaying the opening songs showing off their skills
24:15 It's almost like a sunrise when they sing in unison. It's so gorgeous, it just fills me up and lifts my spirit ❤😭
Yess ❤❤
I just appreciate that you're working to show us HOW they're doing it instead of just raving about how great they are. That's what I'm looking for in vocal teacher content thank you!
I'm so impressed with your ability to match the original singers perfectly!
Impressed and jealous by your vocal range my man!
This was probably the most fun I've had watching a vocal analysis ever.
Your voice is stunning & listening to you recreate the lines & talking us through them? Amazing.
Hercules was one of my all-time faves as a kid (still is) & it never would have succeeded without the fantastic cast of Muses.
Herc was such a great flick... still one of my faves to this day. The music was incredible :)
My dude, I cried during this review. Part of it is the actual songs, but as someone raised southern Baptist, your breakdown of the songs hit hard for me
Love love love how the voices they chose for the solos fit the vibe of the story telling so well. “I won’t say I’m in love” has been my favorite Disney song for ages. You just made me fall in love with this movie even more!!!
I always tell my daughter that Hercules deserves more love than it gets, for no other reason than the Muses. This was a joy to watch, not just because I love The Muses and the music of Hercules, but because it was such a joy to watch Jaron in this. You can tell he loves it too.
If you like the vocals here, you're going to love Hunchback of Notre Dame. Absolutely incredible music in that film.
One of my favorite soundtracks ❤️
The acoustics in that studio were letting you live your best life
Man, I always loved this music as a kid. And as I got older I realized how genius it was to tell this story using a gospel style. But I didn’t realize how much I was under appreciating their delivery until I watched this video!! I’m so happy this popped up in my suggestions, I could listen to you sing all day.
Hands down best Disney soundtrack EVER!! I LOVE THE MUSES! Love the clarity in their voices - runs and all. No word is minced, no run is wasted, no growl too graveled. Perfect perfect PERFECT! And you’re correct about how in sync they are in unison - I feel like that’s always a huge tell of professionalism and cohesion. Every voice distinct but perfectly aligned. Love your breakdowns - had me outburst singing at work! 🙌🏾
This and Cinderella with brandy that will never release smh
Three of these girls (legends) are friends of mine - consummate professionals and incomparable , each in her own right !!! Thank you for covering this !!!
Can you let them seeeeeeeee this video? I’d give a year of my life to hear them together blastin
I feel like the muses introduced a lot of people who grew up with this movie different ways they could sing. They really made that movie funny enough. It just brought so much to the table.
Gives me goosebumps everytime I hear the opening songs ❤
Everything these unbelievably talented women did on this soundtrack? YOU matched. I'm in awe of your talent.
Meg may not be a Disney Princess om paper, but she's got the best Disney Princess Song.
that song is every tsundere's national anthem

You have NEVER lied! Iconic!!! Every point is SPOT ON! Every growl every note, the enunciation of every word!!!!! I am here for every thing in this video!
I would love to see you do a rundown on the songs from Prince of Egypt.
I love the muses! there's a on stage version that they're trying to take to broadway and i want to see so bad! Also no one can't tell me Calliope wasn't inspired by Whitney Houston...I read it somewhere but I can't find it lol. Great analysis as always !
I've always said this!
Yessss
Two of the things I find interesting about them using gospel music and it's percise pronunciation is that the reason gospel singing has that is because the words being sung are the gospel. The good news of salvation. You're literally delivering a message. Which fits perfectly with these characters because they are telling the story of Hercules. The style of sing lends itself to being an orator
I LOVE THE WAY HOW YOU'RE SINGING THE LINES EFFORTLESSLY 😭❤️ so good
The muses in Little Shop of Horrors did a great job too.
Yes!! Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Michelle...
YES!
Yes, Came here to say this!
YES!!! That may have even given them the idea!
Same composer for both Little Shop and Hercules so that makes sense
This is the first video of yours I have seen and I just want to tell you that your energy and excitement is absolutely contagious. From your full head of hair lion's mane to your quirky glasses to your amazing set of pipes, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you and listening to your take on the muses.
You're a unique and powerful personality! I'm subscribing.
As someone who spent part of my life mute and still has sensory overload issues.. I find it amazing to hear this.. I might not be able to follow you, but I sure appreciate the sound of your voice.. ❤
Every single time i hear the muses singing, i get crazy chills from their talent and range and just how well their voices sound individually and as a choir. I was getting those exact same chills every time Jaron sang. Absolutely amazing singing!! Great video!
Not you complimenting their runs like you aren't executing them with ease! 😂😂
They have a behind the scenes video on RUclips of the muses which shows them in the studio and I love it
This movie is what introduced me to gospel music. I have loved it ever since. The soundtrack of this film doesn’t get enough attention, The Muses are played by Lillias White (Calliope, the muse of Epic Tales), Vanéese Y. Thomas (Clio, of history), Cheryl Freeman (Melpomene, of tragedy), LaChanze (Terpischore, of dance), and Roz Ryan (Thalia, of comedy). They absolutely nail it! And as a fun fact, each muse performs a song or part accurate to their mythological role! Calliope is the main one singing the story of Hercules, Thalia jokes about Hercules and has comedic bits during each song, Melpomene sings of Herc becoming mortal. It all plays into what made these characters fantastic as the narrators of the film!
This is my favorite disney movie of all time. I absolutely love that you covered it. These songs still strike a cord with me as if i just heard them for the first time. You would make a Fantastic Muse.
It is mine too! Like down to I still own my original VHS of the movie. It is my comfort movie, I watch it dozens of times a year.
Behind the scenes were even fun to watch the ladies did an amazing job. Hercules is hands down one of my top favorite Disney movies. I still watch it till this day, because of the Muses.
Oh yea I love seeing the storyboard version of zero to hero on Oh My Disney
Gospel brings spirit to anything it touches.
Holy sh.... Man you replicated their singing so effortlessly that it seems so easy 😂😂😂
Man Hercules brings back so many memories
I’m ‘bout to watch Hercules tonight! 💜
8 years old, going to the movies, no idea what I was walking into (besides being a kid who liked Greek myths)...mind absolutely blown apart by this phenomenal music and vocals.
I love ALL your videos!!! But this one... it feels so special and I have to share this. My man passed away 5 months ago and it's just cracked me open, have no other choice but to sing cause it connects me to him. We used to sing together, now I find him in all things that come from spirit.
The Muses are up on my wall with a post it note that says "Sing Luchi!" (His nickname for me)
And now he's my muse 💜
Your videos make me feel less alone on this journey, thank you Jaron!
Sending Love to anyone who feels alone today x
To be even just within earshot of that recording room must have been a treat! The music for the entire film is fantastic and The Muses rocket it from a classic to legendary!
This was really good. Those characters/women were absolutely AMAZING. The voices, the sangin', the presentation.. everything was just amazing.
Wtf you have an incredible voice!
I've always loved the Muses. They are one of the best parts of Hercules, and every time they sing its a gift.
Herc might have been the protagonist, but the muses where the real stars of the movie. My god i still can't believe how good they were, the music, the voice acting, the charisma, hell even their animations are consistently more fluid than the rest of the movie.
Zero to Hero and I Won’t Say I’m in Love are some of the best Disney songs hands down
