He is young and have time but that time can be easily taking away by having a baby. My career have been on hold since I have a baby. Hardly have time to learn something new. I was 21, had a baby. Single mom, so it was just me, myself and I and a mountain of responsibilities. Those were some very, very tough years, but you can make it work, especially when there are two people involved that can contribute to the household. I eventually finished my degree, got a job in IT and while I'm still on my own, I'm currently in the financial position where only 1.3 percent of workers in this country bring home more than I do. It's hard work and not an ideal situation to be in but you can turn things around if you want to and are willing to work for it. Whatever you do, just don't add new stupid or expensive decisions (no more babies!) to the mix until you have your life back on track.

@Anonymous User Hi, it looks like you have a great career ahead of you. I'm European so had to google the abbreviations first but if it was my choice, it would be an easy one: School A, no doubt. Cheaper school, same degree, close to home, sounds perfect! I don't think the higher cost of school B would be justified in your case. If you were studying law, a prestigious school can give you an edge and people in that sector tend to care about education and grades more.
In IT, from what I've learned, what makes you really valuable to a company is not your degree, it's your work experience, especially as a developer. Most employers are not picky on education since there's such a labor shortage and they know there's a lot of things that you will not learn in school, but you will learn on the job. A lot of people in this sector don't even have a relevant degree to start with.
      Good luck!
