- After a whole decade of waiting, I FINALLY was able to get my favorite model that Lionel has ever produced, the Pere Marquette 1225. This is an absolutely gorgeous piece with the most accurate soundset ever produced on a model train. The whistle and bell are taken from the real 1225 and are of course spot on. I can't say enough about how awesome this locomotive is.

The crew talk on this engine, I just can’t stand it. It just drives me crazy and it doesn’t go very well with the model. It would’ve been better if the crew talk was only Rich Melvin and whoever that guy is who answers him. My suggestions are perfectly right about it
If you don’t like the crew talk, you don’t have to use it 🙂

Amazing model. My dad has the Legacy Polar Express from 2014. However I really do want a Legacy Berk. Also where did you get those PM coaches, they look great behind 1225.
Matt’s Trains thanks a lot! These Berkshires are some of the most detailed O Scale Locomotives out there with very good sounds! I got them at a local hobby shop. They were the only ones there.

DUDE I wanted one since 2015 and they are so expensive
I’ve wanted one since 2008 and then I got one and it came out of the box broken. Not worth the money to come broken.
When they added that whistle smoke feature oh my god I was like I gotta get this exact model that u have. (What model is this)

Why does it sound like the 1225 has Sierra number 3’s whistle.

@@railfanjackson4531 Yes. It's been one issue after another. At this point, I'd rather get something else than having to put up with all these issues and then maybe get it again a few months from now.

Any ideas of replacement locos should you need to send it back?
I have the 2008 version and I was planning on getting the 2018 version but after seeing the problems from other channels im sticking with the 2008 model

Hi there. I am new to the hobby and just bought an o-scale train. Like you I want to run a fasttrack or realtrax layout on the floor. How did you do your feeder wires for on the carpet?
If I understand your question right, you just run the wires from the track to your power supply which can be plugged into the wall.
Is that layout not in need of any bus or feeders? Is that just one fasttrack piece with the wires, hooked to a "x" watt transformer, plugged into the wall, and run? I am hoping to avoid soldering or if needed figure out how to do it on the floor hidden under the fasttrack. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it!

It's hard to decide if I want the 1225 or the 765 in the future the 1225 can be transferred into the poler Express with the Poler Express tender but I love bolth whistles. I think I'm going with 1225 it has more ability for options and you cant go wrong with the poler Express

Ya and anyways I ordered something from the lionel 2019 cadolag so it's a perfect time to save up money for the passenger cars for it and save money up for a 2-8-4 locomotive

How good this is and does it still hold up in 2020 if it is the 2008 one
2018 and this was a piece of junk. Had to get sent back at least 4 times and I finally got a refund. I will never buy another lionel product after this kind of quality and recommend others do the same.

@@thehind3119 No problem. I tell it as it is so others know. I do not do model trains anymore. I save that money for camera gear and to go on train trips with real steam. Those trips and seeing real steam is far more exciting/enjoyable than the models in my opinion.

@@malanadhu5828 Well yes, and no. Pere Marquette 1225 was used as the base model for the movie, "The Polar Express" and actually wore polar express lettering on the tender for a little while. However the Steam Railroading Institute, the owners of 1225, lost licensing to name the excursion the polar express for the winter, so they improvised. They named the excursion "The North pole Express" and they run the excursion every winter. WWW.michigansteamtrain.com

What passages cars are those?
Yuraj Rooplal the first two are MTH Premier Pere Marquette Coaches Diner/sleeper. The third is the new Vision Line Baggage Car. The rest are MTH Premier NYC Coaches
