@@valleyofthedolls oh she's absolutely stunning! "Regular girl" just means she looks like a non-LA/Hollywood-ified girl. I'm so tired of the entertainment industry throwing glasses on a model that's a size 4 and calling her "the unattractive girl" for the sake of a movie to inevitably have a "makeover" where she just removes the glasses and wears flattering clothes, only to reveal, that...SHOCKER, she looked like a model the entire time. I feel like this movie is realistic about representation. She's just a girl with insecurities and yes, she's absolutely beautiful, no arguing there! But she looks like a typical person - no fillers, no lipo, no over processed Hollywood anything (not shaming anyone, just refreshing to see otherwise). Just a pretty girl with insecurities that wants what everybody else does - to be loved and appreciated AS IS. In her skin. In her CURRENT body.

Very proud to say that I read this book in my last year of primary school I think I remember and now I'm so happy this awesome book is has its own movie now too! Gina really made me feel proud of my weight and I'm hoping one day that I'll meet a man like Axel who looks beyond your body.
I will be watching and rooting for her also so happy to see a pretty actress that doesnt also look like a every other lead girl.
