Wow!! I built this kit in my early teens back in the 70's. Really surprised that they are still making it. I remember taking ages to paint all the parts with tiny little cans of Humbrol paint. My memory is a bit vague, but I think the 70's kit included a dc motor and battery compartment, and the drivetrain was (barely) functional. It could rotate the rear wheels when held up, but the mechanical friction with the working driveshafts and no proper bearings, was too much for the little motor to overcome when it was on the ground. And then my uncle came along and manhandled the car to pieces. I was distraught over the car's destruction and remember it to this day. Now I can't resist buying it and reliving my childhood again.
When he said that he doesn’t know much about cars he wasn’t kidding! To be fair the replacement for Jim Clark was Jackie Oliver so maybe that’s why he got confused and said Jackie Stewart.
Well at least I know who Jackie Stewart IS! :D I run a site that covers ALL genres of scale modeling. So if you know someone who is an expert on automotive, aircraft, ships, military vehicles, spacecraft, etc. please let me know and I will gladly get them to do these. Doubt there is such a person though. ;)
It's actually a mixture of new and old plastic. The sprue date stamps range anywhere from 1968, 1969, 1988, and 2014. The photo etch and decal/paper parts were new to this release.
Doubt I still have it, but if you are looking for another outlet to showcase your own videos look us up on AutoModeler.com. We are always on the lookout for new contributors.
Shannon Holley Apologies. Yeah I should have looked closer at the date stamps as they range anywhere from 1968, 1969, 1988, and 2014. So there is one updated sprue from last years Lotus 1967 release most likely.

It a very old kit from the 70s
Met Graham Hill after an amzing Grand Prix at Brands hatch
Great looking kit. My guess from looking at the decal sheet is that this was a car driven by Graham Hill. Thanks for the reveal.
I'm a car modeler for over 29 years, and those 1/12 Tamiya kits still amaze me considering the low price they have
At 11:35, the name is Hill!
The drivers name is there, its Graham Hill.
Should be but he had white marks around his helmet
The figure clearly has a moustache so it is Graham Hill.
11:36 the driver name is there: Hill

It’s a tough gig. You’re OK mate, I was just pulling your leg!

Belle vidéo malgré des problèmes de mise au point du à la caméra
The kit was first released in 68/69!

"How do I open a F1 package?"
*bangs head on box till it's weak enough*
Err... I have no idea what that even is attempting, but... I suppose I should have used a phaser?
KitMaker Network it's actually a joke
those wheels were probably mag-alloy . but not chrome. they weren't built for show
Great review send it to me and I'll build it. Lol

@@Kitmaker ok thanks
Jackie never raced the Lotus 49B. That figure is either Jim Clark or Graham Hill.
Definitely Graham Hill although there should be white markings on his helmet. Jim Clark was dead by the time the Lotus 49B with the high wing arrived.
Yes, Graham Hill - there's his name on the decals.
This is a re release from way back .

Also that somewhat explains the flash around some parts like the drivers hands as these molds are now dated by today's production standards.
Are you on drugs?
+John Smith Lol... no that' just me being me. I am a happy guy. No drugs required.
