Used to collect Sega Mega Drive games and had dealings with a few sellers in Japan. Had the same experience - always got my items quickly [not 3 days quickly, but certainly within 7-8 days] and always with a note and a packet of sweets or similar included. It's a delightful way to do business. Have a smashing New Year Nigel. All the best.
Hi Nigel. I've had the same problem on my 6 wheeled Tyrrell. The rears had melted! Mind you, it was from 1976!Luckily I got some replacements from France. Need some rears for my 72 Lotus now, that too is an old RIKO tamiya kit. Internet here I come. Thanks, Steve
Well come on Nige, bout time you did an F1 car. I've done a couple n still have 6 in my stash. Nice to know where else one can get replacement tires from, good on you mate👍🍻
Nigel, thanks for this video. I have the Ferrari 641/2 (F190), which I haven't looked at for a couple of years, think I'll dig it out and kick the tires to see if they need replacing .
Thanks for the heads up Nigel. The model in the case that you saw could have been a replica of when his car caught fire and he was in it for more than 12 seconds till the marshalls put out the fire, his suit worked well as he was not injured. The tamiya tires that basically gravity melted off could have looked exactly like the ones on Mansells car that burned on the track.
Omg 😱 I was just looking throw my stash today i have all 3 of those kits in that set and the tires are messed up in 2 of the 3 so I’ll Be ordering me some
Hi Nigel, Thanks for the tip. They look great. I have a few Tamiya F1 1/12 and one Protar, I kind of lost interest, too long to build and a clean paint job is harder for me, plus Tamiya decals are crap (translucent and brittle)and a replacement is needed most of the time. I'm going to get a Ferrari 330 p3 in 1/43 scale MFH (full detail)just to get a feel before spending a lot without knowing, that little car is already $200 (shipping incl.) I tend to go more towards small scale even for ships, it's more challenging and because once you built a giant ship or plane, well, where do you put the next one?...Cheers. Yves.
@@NigelsModellingBench There probably isn't Nigel, unless there's solid plastic or resin alternatives. I'm a bit worried about my kits now, i have the Protar and Heller kits as well.
I went online to see if I can find these tires , but evidently they are out of stock were no longer being made , and even if you do find some on eBay the people are ridiculous for what they're asking for a model tire , I own a 2017 Corvette and they want more for a set of model tires then real tires ? That's insane I don't mind paying a little bit more for a quality product but there's no way to justify the cost ? Hopefully someone can remanufacture these tires at a very reasonable and down-to-earth commonsense price if they ever do ? Because I have several models in 1/12 scale that have not been built yet but these were available I'd be ordering several kits of tires and it would be nice if they came out with an aluminum wheel just my suggestion ? But once again hopefully somebody will bring these back out on the market and use common sense on pricing if they do so? Put your videos awesome and thank you for taking the time and the effort to do a video such as this
Have bought a few models and figures from Hiroboy with no complaints, have a good new year.

Might be an excuse to buy another 1/12 kit just for the tyres?? The Brabham can be had for less than £100.
Thanks Nigel. A useful tip.
Very welcome
The origami was a elegant touch to a really cool product 😎

Good idea, however the car was mint and i spoke to the owner who said they just "melted"
Very nice tires with beautiful lettering Nigel...... 👍🏁

@@NigelsModellingBench thanks mate 👍 order placed, I will never have any money if I keep watching your videos 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Dont look at any of the kits then.. you'll forever be in debt. i mean really.. a superdetailed porsche 917K in 1/12th scale??? PORN!!!
@@NigelsModellingBench oh yes I have looked and resisted that temptation. As much as I would love one I doubt I would ever finish it
Great company!!!
They seem to be..

They aren't cheap Sarah, but I don't think there's another option?

MFH will probably re-release them eventually?
@@NigelsModellingBench I hope so but I also hope they keep the price reasonable because you're not buying a real Tire
ordered spares from italeri Mclaren kit hoping to fit tamiya kits
Great idea!!
@@NigelsModellingBench If they fit!! only 15 euros delivered for two sets - so 8 tyres...
You did not leave in your description where to get the tries at.
Model Factory Hiro.. Japan.
There are also some folks making 3D printed tires..
Can you please provide a link for this website? Thanks!
Sure. Modelfactoryhiro . com Links are often deleted by YT??
Wounder if they do replacement tyres for the tamiya 1/6 motorcycles
You could send them an email and ask. They make some amazing 1/9 bike kits.
Cheers Nigel
Wow 😳 i'm speecless..... all that for a fair good price i guess
So I guess you don’t want weighted tire for your cars. 😆😆
Weighted maybe.. not rotten lol.
They worked for Lewis at Silverstone last year!
Why would you review a product that has been out of stock for years?
Because when this review was done they were available.
