I just bought the se400 today, and thought I'd try to find how to's before trying it. I haven't even opened the box actually lol ...anyway thank you very much for the tutorial, showed me a lot of info. before trying it out for myself.
Wow, its a simple video, but very informative thank you so so so much!!! pls keep posting on ur sewing tutorials with that machine. this was very helpful!
I love that you were willing to put up a video even though you aren't an expert on sewing or embroidery. You knew all the right points to hit... the things many of the "pros" might miss because they assume everyone will know. Your video is great for us beginners. Well done! :)
Love it! Thank you for the tips! I especially loved the part about "my kids are up and fighting already"! Sounds like my house =) I have had my machine for nearly a year and not used it at all because I have been intimidated by it, but I think I'll give it a try now!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to show this. I appreciated your straight approach. We are all learning and you have inspired me! Keep it up! Great job.
Cool. I got a program called Stitch Buddy (I have a mac) and it doesn't create designs, but it lets me combine stuff. Then I bought a little submarine and some cute fonts and added it all together!! It's cute. But I live in Hawaii and so I had to order stabilizer and all that stuff on line and it's going to take FOREVER to get here!! Thanks again, your video kept me from returning my machine!!
hi! your video explained some things I was wondering but it would be helpful to see the changing of thread colors, and the finished product. i'm ordering my se400 this week, and would love to see more vids with this machine being used. :-)
This was good video I have learn a lot don't worry I am a newbie also so who knows we can learn from each other I am working on a table runner with embroidery on it but keep up the good work and keep searching you will fine what you need.
Great job sis. I'm still nervous about this embroidering job I have to do. Nevertheless, they want ME to do it and no one else, for some reason they believe in me enough. I have some paraments that I have to make for a church, and I was supposed to have it done months ago. I don't know if the design will be as large as what they have on the old ones they are using now, I just don't want to mess up all this great satin fabric and it not be centered right and then not get paid. Makes me nervous.
Thank you for the video I have several brother machines, I have not bought a embroidery machine yet but after this video must get one. I am a quilter and for the most part I wash my fabrics so got a question do I need to wash the towels before I use them? FYI I also have 2 boys and they fight as soon as they get up so I know how hard it is to get up in the morning and explain yourself on video did a great job.
This was awesome, thanks so much!! I think you said you uploaded your husband's logo? How do I go about doing something like that? I just got my machine yesterday, so I'm still taking baby steps :) But my husband is a submariner and I'd love to be able to put a cute little submarine on some hand towels for the boat...
To everyone that has asked what software I use its call Amazing Designs Digitize and Stitch. It is pretty user friendly but I don't really design my own digitally since I don't have that skill set. There is a girl on ebay that I pay to turn my designs into digital copies and she charges me $24.99 for my logo. There are companies out there that also have a huge stock of digital products already designed one of which gives you 3 free ones monthly no purchase required and there is another one that designs "in the hoop" designs very cheap. I was able to make a little zipper pouch by only putting pieces of fabric in the hoop as the instructions said. Pretty cool. I will post what I use later. But you do need the software to be able to upload the images to your machine.
very helpful..I didn't realize I needed stabilizer in the front too. Thanks:-) P.S. You don't echo...it must have been the cheap poor quality of the listeners equipment:-)
You will do just fine. Practice on something old like a shirt cut it to the same size as your project and you'll see what you need to tweak. Then just go for it!
@Kacey Taylor hi I got mine on Ebay. if you do a search for Logo Digitizing a couple will pop up. the one I used her name is Cindy its in her description. im on my phone so don't really have the capability to cut and paste. you would have to email her you logo and then she digitizes it.
It is wise not to spray the adhesive near the machine as it will be attracted to the electronics and gum them up. I open an window and spray mine outside the window. :)
hi I wanted to know what program do you use I have the same machine and I do not know what program to use with my computer so I really can't do to much. please inbox me.
Hi I use Amazing Designs Digitize and Stitch. Also on digistitch.com and embroiderydesigns.com you can get awesome free embroidery designs and my favorite are the "in the hoop" designs
I would if I did this professional but I simply do these to help people in my limited free time and just use the Mike on the camera. Sorry it's not to your standard.
So many bad ideas and mistakes in this process! I hope she has learned since taping this. DON'T hoop terrycloth! DON'T mark on your terry, mark on the stabilizer. DONT spray wash away. This is bad for new embroiders to watch!
You are so "down to earth" and your instructions were very clear. Thank you! I'll give it a try.

It is wise not to spray the adhesive near the machine as it will be attracted to the electronics and gum them up. I open an window and spray mine outside the window. :)
