Name another athlete that remembers, let alone thinks to talk about some fan in a game twenty years ago, that YOU lost as a player. That was his time, right after the Cup was won, to say anything he wanted. And Jeremy Roenick was unselfish enough to think of that kid? That says so much about the man. Ill always love Lindros the most, but Jeremy Roenick is easily my second favorite of all time. Great guy, player, and tough as nails.
he was an awesome player. roenick showed honest emotion. so what he loves dem hawks. he should. they are an original 6 team with huge history and great characters like roenick. he wore that sweater proudly!
Jeremy is CLASS, pure CLASS. He left it all on the ice. To see this EMOTION here just shows the guy has a huge ❤️ and played the same way with a ton of ❤️. He has NOTHING to be ashamed of, a GREAT representative of the Blackhawks and the city of Chicago. I love his work on set, VERY good as an NHL analyst to.
this guy is tough as nails. 18 years later and even after he hung up his skates he stayed with the game. this guy left it all on the ice. 18 years later 18 friggin years later and the man lets it out. that’s a man among lesser men. i remember watching this segment and i was shocked JR let it out. tough as nails and balls of steel
Props to Philly that team deserved to win a Stanley Cup. Unfortunately that year they met possibly one of the most talented and deepest teams in recent memory. There was no stopping the Hawks that year.
To even reach the finals in the Gretzky - Lemieux - Messier - Coffey era is quite the feat in itself.. in 17 years only 5 different teams won it and it was a crazy era of dynasties in the nhl.. so Roenick among a lot of other great players played for the Hawks in that era without winning it.. after 49 years some favorable winds blew on the Windy City again and happy for guys like Roenick to see some honor restored to the franchise..
Throughout a lot of lackluster seasons, a few players kept Hawks fans coming back. In 1980 a young Denis Savard sparked new interest in the team and got people excited, but when he left people came to see #27. He could either knock you down or skate circles around you, but somehow he was getting to the net.
1992.....I fuckin remember that shit....that shit hurt seeing Lemiuex and the Penguins hold that trophy.......FUCK ALL OF YOU GUYS THAT DONT GET IT. ...@majog001: IM WITH YOU DUDE! AWESOME SERIES. AWESOME ENDING. EPIC. GO FUCKING HAWKS! MISS YOU CHICAGO
As I Canucks fan I absolutely hate the hawks, but I got nothing but respect for JR and the way he played. He deserved a ring more than just about anyone.
@tinklebelly You don't get it at all. The man played for both teams. He said all along that the Hawks would win because they are the better team, though he would be pulling for the Flyers. What would you do if the team that you gave so much for finally accomplished what you tried to do for so long?
@@SuperSparrow45 larms at the end of his career won the cup with the Rangers, unfortunately he couldn't hoist it with the black and red, but his name is on the Cup. Why he's not in the Hall is a mystery to me. One day, maybe.
yeah hes all tears, but at the beginning of the series he wanted the flyers to win...i think its a bunch of bull cuz he went against the hawks in the playoffs, wanted his sharks and then the flyers to win...now he hawks win and he gets like that....sorry i didnt feel for him...and Im a hawks fan
@@veronicabellucci7129... also you're suppose to pull for your current team, but everyone knows J.R's. heart was really always as a Blackhawks, no doubt.
1:02- "its the Chicago Blackhawks, man.." enough said. We still love you Jeremy Roenick, way to keep representing your true team.
he played for philly but still bleeds red and black. One of my fav chicago players.
He is my favorite player. Two-way, grit, fighting, and HITTING, let alone scoring and hands.

My favorite ALL-TIME Blackhawks' player--and there have been many greats!

Respect the legend. Respect the man. JR for life.
Who Loves JR? Any Hawks fan that gets it!
My favorite all-time Hawk.

Teabagonyou Both teams had nearly 50 year droughts but it was sad someone had to lose this.
JR was the man back in the day with Chelios, belfiore...
I miss not seeing him on tv. Hope he is doing well and wish he had some role in the Hawks organization. Even on the fourth line if he wants!

Wonder if my old friend Jim Nielson from Maywood Illinois & Holy Cross HS saw this! Hawks win the Stanley Cup and JR finds a way to be part of it!

Jeremy Roebuck, it’s ok! At least u get to played Pro Sports for a living. Very small percentage of the people can do that.
J.R. on NHL on Nbc
HE PLAYED FOR PHILLY
He's just jealous that he didn't wins cup but he's honest and a true hawk player dorever
To be fair, some of the greatest Hawks of all time never won a cup. Roenick,, Magnuson, Esposito, Larmer.
SuperSparrow45 larmer won a cup with the rangers
Esposito won it with Montreal
He was happy.
