My husband talked someone into selling him a single one of these because he wanted to surprise me with a black chicken. I was thrilled when I saw her. A couple of days later our power went out and it was sooo cold outside. We had to do errands so I put her is a thick, warm glove and put her into the pocket of my sweatshirt to keep her warm while we ran around. She has become the sweetest and funniest chicken. She is the prettiest baby that I have ever seen. Yesterday we were making a new perch in the run and she jumped on my husband’s back and started gently…pecking on the head. It was so funny and cute. Lol
I have a flock of 8 grown hens, 5 are black star. They are wonderful egg layers and so friendly. A couple of them are skiddish but you can tell it's their personality, it's cute 😆 everything stated in this video about them has held absolutely true!
I have 3 of these beautiful ladies. They are beautiful, smart and mine at least very vocal. They let me know when they are not happy or want something. They love to forage and like he said, will destroy your yard so limit the space for them as they like to dig for worms. ❤
One of these fuckers moved into my forsythia bushes. Have no idea where it came from. Live in the Shenadoah Valley, but not near any farms. We do have alot of hatcheries. It may be an escapee.
Let’s just be clear. All pure breeds started as a mut chicken. It takes a change of view when you speak about hybrids cause it’s really just more potential for new breeds. Just gotta work on them for years to clean up and select the genetics you want. Expressed.
I love my black stars! They’re my first chickens. I have 2 and so far they’ve both laid an egg EVERY day for 2 months. No break, no day without an egg. Is this normal? Lol. I’m not complaining, I just haven’t heard of this happening before.

3 of my 4 are Blacks. They are good cuddlers and curious when I visit. I love them and can't wait to share their eggs with my friends and neighbors.

so all roosters have white stripes?
The only ones I had beat the black sexlinks, is the golden comet or red star . Most hatcheries use one of these names .
I bought all heritage breeds this year . It broke my heart when my sex links all died with egg problems
Mine eat bugs and grass on 10 acres
I have 80
Love my girls. Not laying yet.But sweet

Ugh, this guys sarcastic sounding dialogue is so irritating. Good info, but with a terrible delivery.
